A great location with Lake Michigan and a beautiful beach at the bottom of some stairs. Nice restaurants and great activities very close to the cabin. Our host Paul was just great to deal with. We look forward to coming back.
We were very pleased with our stay. The host was very gracious and helpful with our arrangements. We will definitely recommend to friends. Everything provided was just as advertised. (And that amazing tree in the front yard surely has a story to it.)

So glad you had a great time Ken! Come back and see us again soon!
Paul’s spacious property is perfect for hanging out and watching the sunset. It is a very relaxing environment. Everything for the beach is provided (except towels) so that you don’t have to lug chairs and things with you. He has made it very convenient for you so that you can enjoy your time at the beach.

Basic lake cabin. Outside area was good but could use a good trim around the edges. Firewood provided for good fire pit fires in the evenings. Inside showing its age. Would recommend a new mattress and box, and couch was the most uncomfortable for sitting. Sufficient kitchen items although well-used. Enjoyed meeting Paul.

Hi Carol, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're glad you enjoyed the outdoor space and your evening fires.
As a family-owned cottage that’s been in business for over 60 years, we take pride in offering a simple accomodations with a focus on hospitality and the spacious yard and beach.
We’re sorry to hear some aspects of your stay didn’t meet expectations. While our accommodations are modest and priced accordingly, we always appreciate constructive feedback (especially about comfort and upkeep) and we’re actively working on improvements. We do wish we had the chance to address your concerns during your stay.
Thank you again for staying with us, and we hope you’ll consider visiting again.
We had such a good time. The lay out of the property was very relaxing. The trip to the beach was a little rough for older folks like me. But nice beach shack with everything we needed. Even tryed out the kayaks. Paul was such a joy to talk to. Very hard work. And his dogs were awesome to. Thank you

Rustic, relaxing & breathtaking views!
My husband, son (15) & I stayed in cottage #2 and at first the boys thought it was a little too rustic for their taste but ended up loving the whole experience! It’s rustic but in a lake house, fun, relaxing way! The Lats have thought of everything that you would need for family fun! There is quite a steep, beautiful walk down to the beach! Perfect area to be in, great bakeries, restaurants, antiques, boutiques and close to Michigan City, New Buffalo and St Joseph/Benton Harbor! Also, Big Bird Charters is wonderful If you are looking to schedule a fishing trip! We all had a great time and caught Trout and Coho Salmon, yummy !

Needs some TLC but a great location and a great property with onsite owners. Historic motor court in a great out of the way location. Great view and beach for its size and a really cool vibe. Not sure of other units, but this was oddly provisioned. #2. Bring what you can't live without. Everything worked well but could be updated in cohesive small ways. Free firewood/beach stuff and firepits were great. Cosy old-school cabin court overlooking the lake.
We stayed in the smallest of the cottages. It was a little basic cabin with some more old fashion furniture and decor. The private beach was beautiful with a huge yard that is shared with all the cabin renters. If you’re looking for a cottage that your main concern is fancy up-to-date new furniture that you plan on doing most of your trip inside, then this isn’t for you. If you’re like we were who wanted a simple place with a place to sleep and a fridge for our food while 90% of the trip was on the beach, then this is for you. Host was beyond nice and checked on us and made sure we were well taken care of! Hospitality 10/10. Well rent again in the future :)

Thank so much Karalyn! That’s what we’re all about. Simple accommodations with unbeatable location and lake experience. We hope to see you again soon!
I really enjoyed my stay at Lat's Cottage. The property owners were onsite to greet me and check me into the well appointed cottage. I came in the offseason so the room hadn't been occupied in some time so the air was a bit stale but everything was in working order and the internet access was strong.
The property is absolutely stunning. There is a grove of trees with a rope swing and a sitting area on the cliff overlooking the lake. The location is also excellent. I really enjoyed walking from the cottage down the beach to pick up coffee at the Whistle Stop Cafe and Dinner at the Red Arrow Roadhouse. Also a ten minute drive to Warren Dunes!
Excited to bring my kids back in the summer to make use of the digging equipment, boogey boards, and kayaks!

Thanks for the kind words Roland. We hope to see you again next year!
Everything is as advertised. Property needs some work but great location and great yard. Also it isn’t advertising as a new amazing place and it works for what we needed. One thing to note that isn’t shown in the pictures is the bedroom has a skylight right above your head which is fine for most people but I need dark to sleep. Otherwise owners are super nice and accommodating, lots of toys provided at beach and even wood for fires at night. I enjoyed it, but is not for someone who is looking for luxury stay

Thanks Sharon! We'll make a note about the skylight for future guests.
House was clean, location was perfect! Fenced in yard was huge and so much fun for our 2 year old and bulldog. We had a blast on our first family vacation! Already planning our return. Thanks!

Everything was as advertised. Easy to find, everything we needed. The bed was comfortable. We loved the gas fireplace. I am looking forward to coming back to Lat's Cottages.
The cabin is comfortable, clean, and functional and the setting is incredible -- gorgeous tree-filled lot right next to the beach. Paul and Jennifer are great hosts.
Cabin is basic, functional and comfortable. Big picture window fills it with light. You won’t get a better value so close to the beach!
