Oceanfront – Dog Friendly 5 Bedroom with Private Pool and Hot Tub

OCEANFRONT Salvo- Colony Dr. Kick back and leave your work and cares back home. You deserve a rest, and there's no better place to enjoy your break than A BEACH SONG. The ground level has a concrete drive, carport, ground level deck and all weather entry. The first level features a bedroom with one set of bunks and a full bath. The second floor has 3 bedrooms (1 queen master and 2 with shared bath) and a den that opens to a shaded oceanside deck and offers a 32" Smart TV/DVD with NetFlix streaming movies. The third level features a queen master suite. Both master bedrooms have 32" Smart TVs and private bathrooms. The great room is open and airy with cathedral ceiling, Juniper paneling, and large picture windows to view the parades of dolphin and pelicans. The living area also opens to a furnished sundeck and large screened porch with swing for quiet nights and spectacular sunrises. Custom interior decorating, original art, a flat screen TV in every bedroom and unique furnishings highlight this home and make it one you're certain to remember.

Dogs are welcome for a fee of $200/dog/week.
If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the $200 weekly fee will apply for each dog and will be added once your reservation is finalized.

Overall a good stay

Kitchen was well stocked with pots & pans, plates & cups, but was disappointing that we had to supply our own bedding & towels or else rent them due to being there off season. House was very nice, kitchen and floors were very clean, however cleaners could do better job of cleaning the “non weekly” types of jobs like dusting the hard to reach areas and walls. Also, house did not have a very good view of the ocean.

Spring getaway

House was comfortable and well stocked. Pool was nice but needed to be vacuumed. Pool man came by and tested water and nothing else. Good location and nice view. Overall nice house and we enjoyed our stay.

NOT oceanfront

This rental has been a process from the beginning. There apparently is a $450.00 fee that was added and no one wants to take claim as to which company added the fee. VRBO says it is the rental company and the rental company says it is VRBO. So… needless to say that we had to pay the extra. This is marketed as oceanfront just because there is no house between it and the beach well… 350 yards later… This house is Oceanside at best. The check in time was 6pm! Never in 35 yes of coming to the outer banks have I had a 6pm check-in time. So at 6pm we are at the house with no text from the rental company to find that the cleaning lady is there and has been since 430 and is no where near done cleaning. So…we jumped and had to help her so we could get our small children ready to eat and ourselves ready for the week. Still with us helping clean and making the beds for her she did not leave until 730. Meanwhile an inspector came at 615 to make sure it was done and I received a text at 641pm saying the house was ready for us to check in. Not even close! Because the cleaning lady (who was super great by the way) was rushed the house was not fully cleaned. We noticed lots of other maintenance issues with the house. Air filters dirty, leaking front windows. This house has cups and cooking pans, silverware and the minimal necessities but nothing extra. There is not even a landline phone. Needless to say we will never be renting from Surf or Sound rental company again and will make sure before hitting the accept button about renting with VRBO again. Despite all of the house and rental company issues we got to spend time with family.

Pictures are deceiving

The property was not in great shape and the furnishings were dated. Bathrooms are very small, incandescent lights hanging in showers. Hammock was broken and unusable. Microwave quit working Wednesday, reported it Thursday morning, still wasn't fixed by our checkout on Saturday. Picture of beach access looks like path over dune is 50 feet from house, it is actually at least 100 yards from house and dune is very steep. Dishwasher worked but didn't do a great job. Pool and hot tub were fine. Would not recommend this house.
