We had a wonderful time at the cottage. I was with my extended family and we had a very comfortable and rejuvenating stay. The owners were very responsive throughout the stay (we had an issue with some down branches from a storm and they took care of everything quickly and gave regular updates).
We look forward to hopefully more time at the cottage in the future!
Just spent a week at this property. We are a family of 4 with two little ones, 7 and 10. It was just perfect for us! The lake with the little private shared beach was just delightful. We were in it every day. Had plans to go to Lake George Village a few times for fun day trips (its about a half hour drive from the property) but the kids did not want to leave the lake or cabin :). The property was as described and we found it to be clean and just overall charming. We will definitely book this property again!

Disappointed
Beautiful spot. The house was rustic (which is fine) but I believe the cleaning person either did a very surface cleaning or skipped the cottage altogether.
Many unacceptable areas.
The 2nd bedroom on the first floor is really an open room (no door).
Our family spent most of the he week at Silverbay Association as they offer activities for all.
When we were in the cottage, our time was spent in the screened in porch.
Our host was available via phone and was concerned with our disappointments.
Unfortunately, we were not recipients of any changes (besides a new coffee pot on Thursday). Hopefully the next family will benefit by our disappointments.
The location and screen porch are the shining stars of this cottage. The beach is truly special and the view is impeccable. We played lots of games on the porch. Kitchen had basic spices, dish washer pods, garbage bags, napkins, soap, sponges which is great. There is no AC, but they had multiple fans which worked. We cooked many meals in the kitchen, which had plenty of counter space. They had games, puzzles and some toys for my kids to play with. There is a flowing creek next to the house.
The manager was easy to reach, responded quickly and offered to call a plumber when the shower wasn’t draining quickly (I ended up cleaning out hair from the drain which worked)
The cleanliness was lacking and the comforters were visibly dirty on arrival. Luckily there is laundry, so that was an easy fix. They told us to bring our own sheets and towels, which we did, they did have some towels though but upon communicating with the manager, they just didn’t have someone to clean the laundry between renters. We were able to use them and then wash before we left. They had laundry detergent for use. The upstairs bathroom was interesting but it was nice to have another toilet. I did bring my stick vacuum though which was very convenient to have with the and and dirt that got dragged in.
I have family up there and he did mention it’s hard to find good house keeping in the area.
Overall we had an amazing week and would go back. Drinking your coffee with that view cannot be beat.
The house is in a great location! The host/property manager responded very quickly. Take advantage of family packages the ymca offers in silver bay! Great options for rainy days and great ice cream.
Bring twin bed and queen bed sheets!
This cottage was a perfect location in walking distance of Silver Bay YMCA conference center. We lived on the screened in porch with it’s table and chairs for 8, a comfortable futon couch, and a rocking chair. There is a gorgeous view of Oneida Bay on Lake George from the porch. We loved going down to the beach and swimming to beat the heat. We took advantage of all of the fans in the house and stayed cool. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we made wonderful family meals. We made lovely memories and will definitely return!
We enjoyed our stay at this quaint and well-equipped cabin on the hill overlooking Lake George. It was awesome!

Oneida Bay stay
I was not at all happy with the cleanliness of this property. There were bugs and spider webs everywhere. I had the hardest time sleeping because I didn't find any of the beds very comfortable. Also, many of the lamps had burnt out light bulbs. Other than these things, the location was perfect for us. The owner was easy to reach and helpful.

Nice rustic cabin
Spent awhile cleaning when arrived, but enjoyed proximity to Silver Bay YMCA and screened-in porch! Accommodated our group well.

Perfect location with lots of potential
This was a great rustic lakeside cabin for our 2-family combined vacation on Lake George and is priced appropriately.
The cabin fit 7 of us (and 2 pets) with ease. The first floor has been remodeled and the kitchen is fully functional. The large screened porch overlooking the lake is where we spent most of our indoor time and really makes this cabin special. The people in the association were nice, offered up plenty of information and local knowledge. The cabin & property has tons of unrealized potential.
The only real downsides for us were:
1. The upstairs bedrooms are just OK - the kids were happy to sleep in the porch every night.
2. It would have been nice to know that dogs weren't allowed on the beach before we booked. (I partially blame this on VRBO for not allowing phone communication prior to booking)

Our family's favorite
This is the place we always seem to come back to, even after trying others. Recently we spent our 3rd stay there, and it is always as great as we remember. Clean, comfy and welcoming, it has everything you need for a great vacation, for kids of ALL ages. The huge, screened-in porch is our favorite, and the place where we eat, talk, play games, and view the beautiful lake down below. I highly recommend taking advantage of this great vacation, with Silver Bay Association (YMCA) down the street within walking distance and all the amenities they have to offer for a very minimal daily rate: kayaking, canoeing, swimming, tennis, archery, shuffleboard, badminton, basketball, and more.
