Overall loved the home! Had everything we needed! The only down side we did not expect was how far on gravel road we had to travel and the steep of an incline. Only said needs 4 wheel in the winter.
Great location, secluded near the top of the mountain. Renters will need 4 wheel drive at a minimum during winter conditions. I ended up getting chains on my 4x4 diesel truck and that did the trick as we had 7” of snow over 48 hours.

Thank you for sharing. If you would be so kind as to reach out and let us know what we could have done better to enhance your stay even more would awesome. Again thank you for sharing and for staying at our home. Take care and safe travels.
We LOVED being off the beaten path in this cabin for the weekend. It was the perfect place for a low-key weekend. The hot tub was perfect temperature. The quiet was amazing. We look forward to booking this again in the future.

Thank you for your feedback. We hope that you will visit us again soon!
Great place to get away for a long weekend. It is remote and if their was snow you definitely would need 4 wheel drive and chains … lucky for us weather was great and enjoyed the outdoor fireplace… will return
Well let me start with the PROS: beautiful home. Well appointed. Love having our pup with us. Very comfortable beds. Hot tub was great. CONS: The location - is FAR, like really really FAR. GPS does not find the home. The “turn by turn directions” are absolutely horrible. Don’t try to find the home in the dark, it took us over an hour!! :( NO emergency answering service for after hours help - would have been useful for us to try and find the house. The house needs a deep clean - spider webs up at ceilings, spider webs and dead bugs in the window sills when you open them for fresh air and out on the covered deck. NO exterior lights were left on for our arrival and was pitch black.
The biggest thing is MAKE SURE YOU ARE OKAY WITH THE LOCATION.
The worst directions and could not get up street that said road closed had to stay in hotel and get another house and of paid no replacement was offered pretty sad
We had a great time the cabin is beautiful and we enjoyed the outside hot tub and fireplace every night!! We had LOTS of snow fall almost every day and it was gorgeous!! I will add do NOT even attempt to get to this cabin during the winter without tire chains or a four wheel drive vehichle as they say.
This was a quick trip for our family to relax and unwind. Property was exactly as described - it was clean and cozy. We had a great time!

White Christmas 2020
Our family really enjoyed our 2020 White Christmas! It was picture perfect snowing Christmas Eve.
Not enough towels for a 3 bedroom with a hot tub. We managed as we washed towels but it really wasn't enough for a first time go around.
We arrived just before dark with supplies for meals for our stay. We figured we would eat lunch and a dinner at ski area. It rained and then snowed. We were snowed in until our departure on Sunday. We could have gotten down the mountain but not sure we could get back. We were down to the wire on our supplies. It reminded me of our hurricane preparedness days. We should have had a canned supply for emergency.
We had a tree break off and land in the middle of the road right by the drive way. One limb was empaled in the ground. The neighbors up the mountain came down with tools and was able to get the limb out of the road. We drug the tree to the side of the road the best we could. We didn't have any tools other than a broken snow shovel to help. Really nice neighbors!
Love the electric fire place! We used it the whole time. It really kept the living room warm.
We didn't get to ski but we got a beautiful White Christmas....next time.
Merry Christmas!

Read this review before renting Chestnut Falls
The description on the website does say remote but unless you have actually driven to this cabin you can't fully understand. It takes about 30 minutes to get down the mountain from this home. That might not be a big deal to some folks but I didn't care for driving all the way up Beech Mountain just to then drive all the way down the backside of the mountain then finding I need to then again go up the mountain again to get to the home a bit irritating. The drive up is not paved and it's very steep getting to the cabin. Driving to the cabin at night is a nightmare until you get used to it. We arrived late and it took a while to find the cabin without cell service or WiFi. The cabin is beautiful inside but the only bathroom on the main floor is in the master bedroom so guests need to go upstairs to use the bathroom or walk through the master bedroom. The upstairs loft is fun with foosball and checkers set up. I would not rent this cabin again because of the location. It's not convenient if you want to run out to the store, etc. once we left we stayed gone for the day and made sure to come back before dark to avoid the drive.

Very nice cabin,
The Bad (but not too bad...)
1. The painting in the queen BR was nice but a wall mounted flat screen would have been much more practical. Everybody likes watch tv in the bedroom especially when staying with other couples
2. Gas logs had a fairly strong odor when started. But I think this is normal.
3.dryer didn't seem to dry well
4. Master Shower Drain was very slow. But not a problem. Also, water leaks out of shower door significantly.
5. Curtains would make a nice touch. Some folks felt exposed by the big windows ( but that's picky, I know)
6. Your photographer did a great job with the pics. Cabin a little smaller than it appeared. But still comfortable
Now for the Good!!
1. Roads were in great shape. But yes, 4 wheel drive or AWD and independent suspension is good to have.
2. Awesome outdoor fireplace
3. Comfortable beds
4. Great living room furniture
5. Super internet
6. Nice trails close to the cabin
7. Nice water fall just off the road uphill from the cabin.
8. The route from Boone, taking 321 -> buckeye rd -> buckeye lake rd ->. pinnacle ridge rd -> buckeye ridge rd. Seems to be an easier faster root and GPS worked entire way.
Really enjoyed the stay. I hope others find this review helpful.
Very nice property and clean. Would stay there again

Beautiful Cabin!
The cabin was really nice and comfortable. I really enjoyed the hot tub and the fireplace on the deck. The view into the woods could use some improvement. There was a lot of trash scattered about, probably by bears, but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Thanks Ben for the review. Since your stay we have cleaned that trash that was scattered in the woods. One of the few drawbacks to getting upclose with Mother Nature is that sometimes she doesnt show good manners. In this case it was our friendly neighborhood black bears.
Best of the Best in comfort and cleanliness of property!
My husband, Vince, and I along with our son-in-law, Cisco, and our granddaughters, Annabel and Emmeline, stayed at this cabin from August 10 to August 13. We were able to bring our foxhound, Evie, who had a great time sniffing for other critters!
Beautiful, remote, off the beaten path home. We loved it.

Cabin is very nice. Shower upstairs may be leaking as when someone takes a shower water leaks downstairs onto cabinets. Also in guesom upstairs with queen bed roof may be leak ing as sheets had water stain on after rain. But overall loved the cabin.

Chestnut Falls
Excellent cabin, hot tub was great.. Everything was great. Only thing I'd recommend to others is make sure you have a good vehicle to get up the mountain hill and gravel road leading to the cabin and the steep driveway. Luckily I had a Toyota 4 Runner and had no problems but some unsuspecting person with a little car would have issues.
House is lovely. Enjoyed the seclusion. Hot tub and outdoor fire place made our trip. Both outdoor patios need a good pressure washing but overall clean home.
Beautiful cabin nestled in the woods. Perfect size for our family of 2 adults and 3 boys ages 15, 12, and 9. We enjoyed the cool mornings and hot tub on the deck. Nice fenced in side yard for the dog. Great living room with gas fireplace and wood burning outdoor fireplace.
Just a couple areas for improvement: 1) master shower was not cleaned well before we arrived (lots of mildew on the shower floor). 2) Outside trash bin did not lock properly- bears came out our 2nd night, luckily only dog waste. Call Carolina Cabin Rentals and they couldn’t come out to fix it. Took a walk in the woods nearby, lots of trash dragged out there, so maybe this trash bin hasn’t locked properly for awhile.

Chestnut Falls Cabin
My wife, dog, and I had a great stay for the week in this cabin. The weather was perfect! No rain, sun and some puffy clouds each day with highs in the low 70's! The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed. We loved the indoor and outdoor fireplaces. We did not run into any issues during our stay, but if we were to recommend anything it would be a suggestion of brighter lighting in the master bathroom - very dim and hard to see when getting ready. Possibly an update or repair to the grill soon. It has gotten a lot of use and the burners are rusted out and only 1/2 of each one works. The front entrance to the community is very over grown right now and it made it difficult to see from the road before you turn in. Considering the age of the cabin and that it is a rental - it looks like it has been well taken care of. Thank you!
