Best location in the Ardèche

Lovely house in the best location possible for a relaxing stay in the south Ardèche. Fantastic views, very close to the river where we swam and kayaked. A few mins walk to a few great restaurants and bars in beautiful Balazuc. Francoise and Michel are lovely helpful people.

Very warm welcome, very clean house, super private, you can walk straight to the beautiful river with plateaus and rocks to jump from. Beautiful medieval town around the corner. The view from the garden is fabulous. (Although I would have liked to have pruned some to have an even better view😉) Canoe rental very close by, cozy bar. There is even a ping-pong table at the house, which is really fun and at night you can see the Milky Way. In short, all the ingredients for a fantastic holiday!

Exceptional location overlooking the river and within easy reach of charming fortified village.

We have just returned from a 12 night stay at this lovely beach-front house (20 Aug to 1 Sept 2017) which we feel cannot be beaten on it's position on the edge of this quaint, medieval hill village with it's narrow, cobbled alley-ways set on a sheer cliff overlooking the beautiful Ardeche. Les Rochers is immediately next to the bridge and main beach. Along the shore, there are many patches of sand and an abundance of rock shelves which are perfect to lay a towel on. There is a great atmosphere if you stay close to the main beach (with supervised swimming). Both here and just upstream are departure points for canoe trips and a series of 3 rapids make the canoeists squeal with delight as they go by. Also, the more daring jump from the higher rock platforms. A 5 minute walk down river, it's much quieter with great swimming and a sandy beach. Fish feed from your hands; frogs, lizards are easy to find and wild flowers grow between the pebbles. Goat herds graze and Bonelli's eagle, the Ardeche reserve's emblem, soar overhead. We are a family of 5 (children aged 11, 15 and 17) and the accommodation was just as photographed. Francoise and Michel were very friendly, helpful and easy going. They speak a little English and told us about places to visit, for example, the Pont d'Arc cavern, a re-creation of the World Heritage Chauvet-Pont d'Arc Cave with it's 36000 year old paintings. The house was fully equipped; dishwasher tablets, herbs and spices and all basics were provided. There is a super market just south of Ruoms about 10km away and a tiny shop in Balazuc where we bought baguettes and croissants each morning. We mainly cooked at home (the view is so exceptional) but there was a choice of about 5 bars/restaurants if you prefer. There is a table tennis table, boules, skittles and other games to play. The village is quieter at night. When we visited it was close to end of season and there was sometimes music. We loved to sit out and look for shooting stars. The garden is the unique part of this house. There are lots of little terraced areas nestled between the rocks, it was difficult to decide where to sit and you are so close to the beach you can pop back as you wish. The impressive Pont d'Arc is a must to see but it was good to return to somewhere much less busy. The canoeing was affordable and really fun. Our favourite was the Vogue to Chauzon stretch. We used "Balazuc Loisirs" based nearby on the main road. Les Rochers is highly recommended!

Wir waren zum 6. mal an der Ardeche. Dieses Haus war mit Abstand das beste Ferienhaus, in dem wir unseren Urlaub in Frankreich verbracht haben. Die warmherzige Begrüßung durch die Gastgeber und der gute Wein zum Empfang waren ein sehr schöner Beginn unseres Aufenthaltes in Balazuc. Der Ort wird zwar von vielen Tagestouristen besucht, als überlaufen haben wir es jedoch nicht erlebt. Abends war es besonders ruhig. Die Lage des Hauses gab uns das Gefühl ein Reich für uns zu haben. Das Grundstück ist sehr weitläufig und hat viele schöne Überraschungen mit Sitzmöglichkeiten und besonderen Ausblicken. Die Einrichtung des Haus ist eine gelungene Mischung aus Vintage und durchdachter Funktion. Die Gestaltung von Haus und Grundstück ist liebevoll und kreativ. Es gab Tage, da mochten wir unser Urlaubsdomizil nur ungern verlassen. Etwa 50 Meter vom Grundstück befindet sich eine Bademöglichkeit und ein Paddelverleih. Wir empfehlen eine Paddeltour nach Ruoms, sowie einen Besuch der Stadt Uzes. Als Reisezeit empfehlen wir den September. Wir bedanken uns für die wundervollen Tage, die wir in dem Haus verbringen durften.

Die Lage ist super zum Entspannen mit verschiedenen Sitzmöglichkeiten auf dem Gelände. Das man durch die Toilette/Bad muss um zu den weiteren Schlafzimmern zu kommen stört schon etwas.Die Beleuchtung ist etwas zu dunkel um abends noch ein Buch lesen zu können. Die Besitzer sind jedoch sehr nett und in der Umgebung kann man auch viele Dinge tun.

Sehr schöner Aufenthalt

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Z.B. hatten wir nicht gesehen, dass wir die Bettbezüge selber mitbringen müssen. Wir konnten dann Bettbezüge vor Ort (gegen Gebühr) ausleihen. Das Objekt ist super schön gelegen und auch sehr zentral. Die Zimmeraufteilung ist für Familien oder 2 Pärchen nicht optimal, zu zweit aber OK. Insgesamt 5 von 5 Sternen.

Wir hatten einen traumhaft schönen Aufenthalt in einer wundervollen Umgebung in einem großartigen Ferienhaus! Francoise und Michel sind sehr sympathische Gastgeber, die uns herzlich empfingen und auch den ein oder anderen Ausflugstip bereit hatten. Die Kommunikation war sehr unkompliziert und entgegenkommend. Die Unterkunft entspricht genau der Beschreibung und lässt keine Wünsche offen! Es war alles vorhanden! Wir verbrachten eine wundervolle Zeit und freuen uns schon auf einen nächsten Aufenthalt.

Natur pur

Inmitten der wunderschönen Natur mit Felsen, Fluß und Tieren, ist man als Urlaub absolut für sich und doch mittendrin. Nur ein Katzensprung entfernt befindet sich das ebenso reizvolle und mittelalterliche Dörfchen Balazuc. Die Ferienwohnung bietet alles, was das Herz begehrt und die Vermieter sind immer erreichbar und um keinen Geheimtipp verlegen. Es gibt viele Möglichkeiten für Tagesausflüge, die sich mit einem erfrischenden Bad in der Ardeche beschließen lassen. Vielen Dank für die Gastfreundlichkeit und bis bald!

Wir waren schon zweimal in dem wunderschönen Ferienhaus in Balazuc. Jetzt, bei unserem dritten Besuch, hatten wir das Erleben, dass das Haus, nach einigen Umbaumassnahmen, noch schöner und praktischer geworden ist. Für eine Familie mit Kindern, die gerne draussen spielen, ist das Ferienhaus wunderbar gelegen. Die Ardeche mit ihren kleinen Sandstränden ist in 2 Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar. Ein herzliches Dankeschön an die Vermieter für die aufmerksame und liebevolle Betreuung während unseres Aufenthaltes.

Séjour parfait !

Séjour vraiment agréable. La maison est très bien décorée, mais aussi fonctionnelle. Les lits sont confortables, la cuisine est parfaitement équipée. Le grand atout de cette maison est son jardin/terrain immense, avec accès direct à l'Ardèche. De plus, les propriétaires sont très sympas et réactifs !

Wunderschönes Haus in toller Lage

Wir haben mit unseren Teenager-Kindern zwei wunderbare Wochen in diesem tollen Haus verbracht. Françoise und Michel sind engagierte und sehr sympathische Gastgeber, die immer ansprechbar waren und uns wertvolle Ausflugstipps für die Region gegeben haben. Ihr Haus war perfekt für uns: Die Lage am Rand dieses bemerkenswerten Ortes (der überhaupt nicht überladen oder verkitscht ist), die Nähe zum Fluss, in dem wir an unterschiedlichen Stellen schwimmen oder springen waren. Und auch die weitere Umgebung – natürlich mit Kanufahren auf der Ardèche und vielen schönen Wanderwegen. (Tipp: Unter den Info-Broschüren von Françoise und Michel ist ein französischsprachiger Wanderführer mit super Routen!) Und dann das Haus selbst: Es hat wirklich alles an Ausstattung, was man sich wünschen kann, ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und super sauber. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

De superbes Vacances
