About this property

Charming Mountain Home with Views

MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YRS OF AGE TO BOOK

Londono's Paradise is a charming, 4BR mountain house with long-range views, a hot tub, a game room with an air hockey table, and a nice yard. This house sits just three miles from the slopes of Beech Mountain Ski Resort and less than three miles from downtown Banner Elk. Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is six miles away, and Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Ziplines is thirteen miles away. Grandfather Mountain is about 14 miles, and the towns of Boone, Blowing Rock, and Valle Crucis are less than thirty minutes away.

The main level features an open kitchen, dining area, a great room with wood floors, custom wood furniture, a gas fireplace, and huge floor-to-ceiling windows framing long-range views. Look straight across at the mountaintops and see the top of Sugar Mountain. The kitchen features granite countertops, black and stainless appliances, and a butcher-block center island with additional seating. The dining table is a live edge wood slab, and the dining table and adjacent island comfortably seat up to ten. The great room offers a gas log fireplace with a brick hearth, an HDTV, and expansive mountain views.

Venture out of the great room to the open-air patio where Adirondack seating surrounds a propane fire table. Around the corner off the dining area is a private outdoor living area with a vaulted overhead roof, a live-edge outdoor dining counter, a gas grill, and a porch swing. Below the open-air patio is a cozy lower deck with a big six-person hot tub. The big yard has a wood-burning fire pit and is perfect for sledding in wintertime and family fun all year round!

The main level has three bedrooms and a full bathroom. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, an HDTV, and direct access to the bathroom. The bath, accessible from the hall, is equipped with a tub, shower, and double granite vanity. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, an HDTV, and mountain views. The third bedroom has a twin-over-full bunk bed with a twin trundle bed, an HDTV, and mountain views.

There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer downstairs. The game room/den has a huge HDTV, a DVD player, a jukebox with Bluetooth capabilities, and a cool air hockey table. The big bunk bedroom downstairs has two twin-over-full bunk beds, an electric fireplace, and windows with views. There is a full bathroom downstairs with a huge tiled shower and granite vanity. All five HDTVs have digital programming, and there is WiFi Internet. The main level has radiant heat throughout, and each room downstairs has individually controlled forced air heat. There is currently no air conditioning at Londono's Paradise. The temperature, however, rarely gets warm enough to need it, and the big windows and ceiling fans allow you to utilize the cool mountain breezes to keep the house comfortable.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS (we allow up to 12 guests maximum):
Main Floor King Master Bedroom (sleeps 2)
Main Floor Queen Bedroom (sleeps 2)
Main Floor Bedroom with Twin over Full Bunk, with Twin Trundle (sleeps 3 comfortably, 4 maximum)
Downstairs Bunk Room with 2 Twin over Full Bunk beds and one Twin Trundle bed (sleeps 5 comfortably, 7 maximum)

***Although the house can accommodate up to 15 in beds and trundles, we allow no more than 12 guests at any time***

There are three cameras at the property. The cameras are solely for security reasons. One camera is located over the garage of the house, looking at cars that come in. There is a second camera located in the front of the house near the front door looking out over the front of the house. A third camera, located in the back, monitors the back of the house. All of the cameras look outward. No cameras are looking toward the house, and no cameras are inside the house.

Not stocked, not clean
Even with 2 toddlers and 4 additional children, I am certain we left this place cleaner then when we arrived. We were missing a trundle bed. We had 0 drinking glasses. We had a set of 8 silverware and 8 plates. This does not work for a cabin that advertises it holds 12 people. Dishes were brought 36 hours after check in. The trundle bed request was ignored. There were no directions for heat in the downstairs (it was 28 degrees at our arrival, the downstairs was probably 55 degrees). We were given directions later, but the heater is not childproofed... and its in the space that is set up for the kids. One garage door didn't work. The deck was covered in ashes from the previous renters fire outside. The fireplace inside did not work. And more so it was just disconnected and didn't have propane so that it couldn't be used by guests...but the house specifically states fireplace. We were given a credit instead. Based on the response to the fireplace request, I am pretty certain if you want to stay here, it still will be "out of order". And the most problematic, the entire house was SOOOO dusty. Dust balls underneath everything. The floor had not been cleaned (spilled drinks or food) upon our arrival. There were not enough places for 12 people to eat. The barstools might have counted, except they were broken.

Londonos paradise review
The house was dated and in need of updating. Fireplace was broken and nonfunctional, hot tub was filthy. Maintenance did come out and tried to fix fireplace but it didn't last. He also "cleaned " the hot tub, 4 adults used it once and it was not usable again. I contacted management company they wanted to charge me for another service to hot tub. They never showed up to fix the fireplace. They did give me a credit and apology for the fireplace. It was a great location and we had lots of fun playing in the snow, very convenient to skiing.
