This home is in an area of South Wellfleet called Pleasant Point, which is a long pine grove that juts out into Wellfleet Harbor. It is very near the Audubon bird sanctuary, so there are many species present in the yard. It is also adjacent to the National Seashore and the white cliffs over the Atlantic are only minutes away. We are known especially as a great location for windsurfing, sail boating and kayaking (from the landing at the end of the street), hiking and biking. Many tell us that they settle into the quiet of Pleasant Point for evenings and long mornings, watching the tide go in and out. And then, they venture out each afternoon for time at a favorite ocean beach, or further out to the many other day trips available. Wellfleet Village is five minutes by car and has scores of art galleries, the fish and fresh produce market, wine and spirits stores and an upscale grocery store. The galleries and restaurants of Provincetown are only 20 minutes away. The Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theatre is just up the road; the drive-in movie is two miles down the road. The Cape Cod Rail Trail begins at the end of our road, and provides miles and miles of scenic trails for biking. Whale watches, ferries to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard, or antiquing along Route 6A, there is plenty to do.
