About this property

Sweet Casita on Hill in Jungle--Walk to beach

This one room casita is the cottage to the main house, that occasionally is rented separately. The casita has 2 full beds, a full bath, with kitchen facilities ( as a portion of the bath---there is NO KITCHEN per se, just basic facilities for your convenience such as mini fridge, air fryer (new!), coffee maker and toaster. There is a sweet little deck overlooking the jungle with a table and two chairs, a lovely place to relax with your coffee, margarita or juice watching the many jungle birds come and go.

(Wifi is sketchy at the casita as the modem is at the main house. There will be times you may need to sit outside the door to download.)

Our house is 1.3 miles south of town on a beautiful jungle road. We are a 7-10 minute walk from our ”own” secluded, lovely beach. In summer months this road can be rough. Please contact owner for rentals during the summer months (late June - September)

Quiet jungle abode, but you’ll want a cart!

This abode is off the beaten path and a great place to stay, especially for bird watchers. It’s certainly possibly to walk to town, but we found a golf cart made a nice companion. Just far enough from town to not hear much noise. The beach is close and sparsely populated!

We had a lovely stay in our villa, however, water pressure for the shower and refrigeration options for drinks and food were limited. Otherwise, wonderful.

Quiet getaway

Property was clean and quiet, communication from property manager was good about checking in and how to get to the beach and included amentities. It is a decent walk from the town so a golf cart was nice for trips (just make sure to request a very long extension cord if renting) Wifi was a little iffy within the casita but could pick it up on the steps just outside, but didnt miss it since the point was to unplug! enjoyed meeting the resident dogs!

Beautiful house in the jungle

Gorgeous balinese house and furniture in a fantastic bird watching spot. It is a bit a walk into Sayulita and we always took a cab home at night- 200 pesos every time. Near by beach was very quiet, although there are daily tours on horses and the occasional motor bike. You cannot avoid the noise of Sayulita on the weekend- bring earplugs! Overall, we loved it.

Bad directions and horrible place not actually in Sayulita

Liz, the property owner sent obscure directions via email outside of the VRBO platform. She claimed that a person would text me with precise directions. I never received that text. I drove around in the jungle with a driver for an hour finding nothing with directions that made no sense I could not reach her because I did not have her phone number so I booked another place and did not stay there and she will not give me my money back which I think is quite unfair.

I'm very sorry this happened, however we did the same with him as with every other renter. My property manager reached out to him days before arrival with no response from him. I had also sent him, well before his arrival, my property managers phone number and email which he apparently declined to use. The directions he is referring to are the ones I send for people to have in their phones to use AFTER their initial arrival which my property manager arranges because yes, the directions can be confusing for the first time. He received the same sets of arrival directions and emails and phone numbers everyone else does. Others have not had problems.

Cute little casita in the jungle. Pretty far on a narrow road. Amazing beach within walking distance. A little primitive but we had a great time!

This property was a dream I had (literally). I also had wanted forever, to have a house in the jungle. To me, it is far more interesting than the beaches, and because it is not far from a beach, you have the best of both worlds.
