About this property
Ouachita Rose - Private Cabin with Hot Tub
-Peaceful, very secluded 1,050 sq ft cabin-one of four in our private resort that is located on the Ouachita River. At the end of the road, no thru traffic, no visible neighbors. -A soothing himalayan salt lamp lights to hot tub room that adjoins the cabin and creates a calming vibe.
A complimentary bottle of champagne, wine or sparkling cider is included. Sitting on the Upper deck is like being up in a tree house. -Roast marshmallows under a star-studded sky away from city lights. -Pet Friendly-$25 per pet per night paid at resort. -On site canoeing, kayaking, river tubing, swimming, fishing, hiking, horseshoes, volleyball, basketball, tether ball. Near crystal mining, horseback riding, biking, hiking, ATV trails. Shuttle service available. -We invite you to come out and unplug. Our cabins have no phones, WiFi, or cable. You have a TV with a DVD and tape player in your cabin and we have a library of VHS tapes and DVD's in our office for your use. Also in our office is a cable TV and telephone with free long distance. -You have entertaining games and puzzles in your cabin and additional choices available in our office. -Canoeing the Ouachita River at any time of the year offers visitors a chance to view towering rocky bluffs and riverbanks sprinkled with wild flowers while winding through the rugged and undeveloped National Forest. The pleasant temperatures and brilliant seasonal color displays of fall and spring, the cooling and refreshing effect of moving water and shade trees during the heat of summer, make March to November the most popular times to enjoy this trip. The family-friendly river flows casually past massive rock bluffs shaded by tree-lined banks and slopes. -Free of commercial development, the Ouachita is a gentle river with occasional Class I-II rapids separated by flat-water pools. Fishing is excellent, with an abundance of bass (mostly smallmouth, largemouth and spotted), bluegill, catfish, green and longear sunfish, walleye and any number of other species. -Mother Nature blessed the Ouachita Mountains with the most beautiful quartz crystal in the world. Mount Ida is known as the "Quartz Crystal Capital of the World". We welcome all rock hounds, both amateur and professional. -Womble Trail, Ouachita Trail, and Lake Ouachita Vista Trail are nearby EPIC mountain biking and hiking trails. There are other secluded, forest trails such as Fourche Mountain Trail, available for exploring on your ATVs. Just a few feet away from your cabin are short trails into the National Forest. -We are located near one of the darkest sky places in Arkansas and you can easily see the Milky Way. You will see fireflies in season and you might catch sight of an occasional Bald Eagle, Blue Heron or Road Runner. We live on site in our home/office and are available to assist you if you need help with anything from starting a fire to answering questions about where to go and what to see. We have a very small store and try to stock the necessities including ice, river shoes and basic food supplies. You are in the middle of the Ouachita National Forest.

About the host
Hosted by Amanda Sullivan
Hi! Our names are Casey and Amanda Sullivan.
We were married in August 2020, and closed on this beautiful property in October 2020.
It was a whirlwind year to say the least!
We moved from Denver, Colorado to enjoy all that Arkansas has to offer (so many outdoor activities are in this area).
We have 2 children, and one on the way!

Why they chose this property
We love this property because it is so secluded and peaceful. Surrounded on 3 sides by National Forest and the Ouachita River on the other really sets it apart from anywhere else.
Our children (and ourselves) get to discover new and exciting plants and creatures we have never seen all the time, and go on fun river trips together.
