Hospitality

Hidden Haven is ideally located for exploring Belize. I found my cabana comfortable and quiet. The hosts made me feel welcome and at home from the moment I arrived. The food is excellent and the conversation engaging. I would stay here again.

Great hidden gem

The property is amazing. Only received low score based on accuracy of listing. My cabin was not one that was pictured, however I did still enjoy the cabin and it was cool and comfortable. The pool was…. Not as clear as the pictures. The food from Jack at the bar was 10/10 phenomenal. I recommend the buffet and full English breakfast. The road coming up the hill is a little rough, but manageable. I enjoyed my stay. It was quiet and comfy. Very relaxing.

Rustic off the beaten path cabana

Our family stayed for four nights in a 2 bedroom cabana, one room having a single over double bed for our teens. This is the kind of place we like. All the necessities including a mini fridge, stove top, toaster oven and coffee pot (there is a pot of coffee in the game room every morning). Our private deck with two hammocks and chairs was a bonus. We would come home tired and chill out there at night. chickens would come peck the grass every evening and the dogs woulda visit as well. We encouraged them to stay but only one did. If you aren’t into dogs they will ignore you, and we didn’t hear any barking. The family is around if you need anything. Jack has a small kitchen/bar and is a great cook. He serves up typical belizian as well as hamburgers. He mixes a nice rum punch and if he isn’t in the kitchen by the pool just holler and he magicly appears! His sides are great and having Jack there to serve us breakfast before going out for the day or dinner when we came home tired was a huge bonus. Just the four of us ate poolside by the light of a kerosine lamp a few times and it was so nice. David is a welcoming host who greeted us as we drove in the driveway and entertained us with stories about his journey one night when we asked for some time. The property itself is pretty and an awesome location for all of the activities of Cayo. We would stay here again for sure but it’s not for everyone. The downsides are noisy mattresses, bad pillows, ants and the pool was cloudy.

The butane tank that the boiler uses had run out. There are no guages on the butane bottles, so as soon as you mentioned no hot water, we changed the bottle. You left a T shirt down the side of the bed. It is in the Lost Property box, if you want to collect it. Most people say our photos do not justify how wonderful are little resort is thank so much for your review!!!

We enjoyed our stay at Hidden Haven. It was a great spot to hook up with a tour of ATM. Dave, Elaine and Jack run a great clean spot. Super friendly and it seems that they are working hard to update and to refresh the property and cabins. The cabin is a bit spears but very clean and really has most everything you need. Jacks Shack also has some of the best burgers we’ve had! Great prices too!

Great spot for peace and quiet plus close proximity to caves and Mayan ruins for exploring. The pool was superb and the rooms were cozy.
