About this property
Peak Fall Experience -Cabin + Hot Tub Near Parkway
ETucked among the trees on 13 private acres, this cozy dog-friendly cabin is the perfect fall escape. Explore the property with a walk to our private mountain stream, then unwind on the deck, the hot tub or at the fire pit surrounded by fall foliage. Minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, wineries, zip-lining and a quaint coffee shop. The vibrant town of Floyd, an Appalachian music mecca, is a scenic 20 minute drive away. As a pet-friendly property, we warmly welcome your pets with a $150 pet fee.
The cabin entry door is accessed from the driveway via 8 steps to the covered porch. The first floor has a primary bedroom with a queen bed and a jack n jill en suite bathroom, an open concept room with kitchen, living and dining spaces and a deck with grill and Adirondack chairs. The second floor opens to a large bedroom with vaulted ceilings, two full beds, a full bathroom, a sleeping loft with a twin bed and a full bathroom. The sleeping loft is accessed via a ladder, please note there is no railing, so we advise that small children not use the loft. Amenities include a hot tub, grill, pack`n`play, high chair & games making it the perfect escape for a couples weekend or a family trip!
Ridgetop Cabin is located at the end of a private gravel road, less than 2 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Downtown Floyd, located 20 minutes from the cabin is a one-of-a-kind mountain town known for its vibrant arts, live music, good food and welcoming small-town charm. The Friday Night Jamboree at the Floyd Country Store is a beloved Appalachian tradition. Every week, locals and visitors gather for an evening of live bluegrass, old-time, and gospel music. The night kicks off with gospel, followed by lively fiddle and banjo tunes, flatfoot dancing, and plenty of community spirit. It’s a joyful, family-friendly event where the music spills out onto the sidewalks and the whole town comes alive. With walkable streets and a laid-back vibe, downtown Floyd is the perfect place to soak in Appalachian culture. Meadows of Dan is approximately 10 minutes from the cabin and has a coffee shop, gas station, local market and a country cafe.
A vehicle is required to get around as public transportation is not available. 4WD vehicles are recommended if there is snow or ice in the forecast, but cars can easily access the cabin in good weather. In case of inclement winter weather, we advise parking at the parking area at the top of the driveway to prevent your vehicle getting stuck at the bottom of the driveway. Guests have access to the entire 13 acres and whole cabin with the exception of the basement which is used for owner storage. The tool shed and tiny house are for owner use only.
Getting to the Cabin: Must-Read Info - Guests must use the detailed directions (with photos) we provide prior to your stay. These step-by-step instructions will guide you directly to the cabin. Cell service on the way to the cabin is spotty and GPS is not always reliable as you get closer to the cabin. Please note that the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed whenever there is inclement weather that affects roadway conditions as it is not maintained by the highway department. If GPS routes you this way, check to make sure it is open before setting out for travel.

About the host
Hosted by Helen Bisset
My husband Drew and I live in Lexington, Virginia with our two children. We enjoy spending time with family, traveling, music, books and the outdoors. We spend as much time as possible at our cabin and take pride in creating a welcoming space for our guests! We truly love Floyd and the surrounding areas and are happy to be ambassadors for this beautiful part of Virginia!
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this cabin on a getaway weekend to Floyd! The location was the perfect midway point for our large family to get together for weekends away. We loved how cozy the cabin felt with the knotty pine walls and hardwood floors. There is plenty of space for everyone to spread out and the layout uses every inch of space.
What makes this property unique
The property has private hiking trails that lead down to a creekside picnic area- the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine. Walk down the lane to have a wine tasting at Chateau Morrisette Winery or have dinner at the winery's restaurant. The Blueridge Parkway is less than a mile away and the Floydfest music venue and Villa Appalachia Winery are 2.5 miles from the cabin.
