One of the very best located properties in Hilton Head. November and December are great for beach activities: golf, tennis, pickleball. Enjoy our private heated pool and spa.

Walk everywhere. Perfect vacation location! Two minute walk to tennis and pickleball courts, restaurants and Trent Jones golf course on award winning Palmetto Dunes Plantation. Fazio and Arthur Hills golf courses 5 minute drive. Back yard paradise with 30' heated pool with spa, golf putting green, deck, screened porch and second level sun deck. Spacious interior with 5 bedrooms decorated in gracious Southern charm.

EXTRAs not provided by most rental homes include: 4 adult bikes, 2 seat adult kayak, single seat child's kayak, 8 beach chairs, beach tent, 5 hair dryers, pool toys, 2 beach wagons, 2 beach mats, 3 hole putting green, corn hole, indoor games, drip and Keurig coffee makers, cable TV, hammock and more!

Sunny vaulted family room with 55" flat screen cable TV. Huge, well equipped 20' kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The dining room seats 6 with an adjoining breakfast room seating 6. The bedrooms include Charleston Summerville master suite with a king bed and private bath with furniture quality granite double sink. The Augusta Room has a queen bed and shares a Jack and Jill bath with granite double sink with the Nautical Room which has 2 twin beds. Completing the downstairs is a half bath with granite sink convenient o the pool area and a sitting area with a hand painted Charleston mural. Upstairs is the Hemingway Room with a queen bed and private access to the sundeck overlooking the pool. This room also has a charming sleeping nook with toddler bed. The fifth bedroom is the Lighthouse Keepers Cottage featuring twin beds. Completing the upstairs is a full bath.

We are third row ocean so a nice short 2 minute walk across a wooded lot from the pool area brings you to the beachfront homes and private beach. For outdoor relaxing you'll find 2 dining areas - an umbrella table for 6 and an elevated bar table for 4. For sun worshipers there are 6 poolside chaise lounging chairs and 2 chaise lounges on the second level sundeck. Adding to the fun is a synthetic professional grade putting green, lighthouse corn hole game, rope hammock and box full of pool and beach toys. Outdoor shower, adult 2 person kayak, youth single person kayak and 4 adult bikes + 3 small children's bikes for exploring the island. For your indoor entertainment we have 6 TVs, DVDs, VCRs, toy chest full of fun toys, games and books.

Pool and or spa can he heated for an additional fee. (Spa heat free June-August)

This was our 20 trip to HHI. Fifteen of those have been with our daughters, son-in-laws, and now 5 grandchildren. We usually start counting the day's until next year. Our stay ended badly bc of Hurricane Helene and its ramifications but, prior to it, all was well. The home is 2 mins from the beach and has a lovely pool. There was every amenity needed for a wonderful family trip.

Perfect for the Holidays with the family

Beautiful spacious house, very comfortable with great amenities. We enjoyed the heated pool and spa, the bikes, the kayaks. Only 2 min walking distance from the beautiful beach, a few minutes walk to tennis / pickleball and golf. The owner was very responsive and helpful throughout.

Family vacation for 50th Anniversary

If you read any of the other wonderful reviews…just ditto that. Property and hosts were magnificent! Every thing was exactly how it was described and best ever equipped for a beach trip. The wildlife in the backyard of deer, and a bald eagle were a plus.

Family Thanksgiving week

We had a great time. We baked, cooked and order in. We hung out in the hot tub and took walks on the beach. We watched the sunrise and celebrated birthdays. It was wonderful!

Annual Generational Getaway

Even though there were 6 adults and two toddlers, we had so much space (with room for a few more). The week was beautiful and the house exceeded our expectations. The host was super easy to communicate with, the home was very clean and well-stocked, the location was perfect--literally a 2 minute walk down a beachy path to the most amazing portion of beach--the pool was refreshing on hot afternoons, and we enjoyed grilling and putt-putting right in the backyard. We hope to stay again when we return to Hilton Head. Our only complaint is that we only had 7 days.

Great family vacation

We were a family of grandparents, children and grandchildren. We loved the location - only a few minutes was to the beach. Also the beach was fairly private - you could tell it was much less crowded than the public beach farther down. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. The listing says it has service for 12, but there is a lot more plates, cups and silverware than that. No need to bring your own. We all loved the pool and the very private back yard. The owners respond very quickly with any questions you have.

We've been vacationing on HHI every other summer for 40 years renting condos at Seascape on S. Forest Beach. This was the first time we've booked a house as we had extended family (3 generations) joining us this time. The house was incredible! From initial booking to follow up, Gordon's communication was prompt and excellent. We had 7 adults, 3 children plus a toddler. The house included everything we needed...Plenty of rooms/baths, crib, pool and beach toys and carts, grill, bikes, plus many household items to make us feel right at home! The beach is literally just a few minutes walk from the house. The Palmetto Dunes area is absolutely beautiful. Fun times at the pool, on the beach, bike riding, shopping, restaurants, evenings on the screened porch....everything you need for a great vacation! The overhead osprey nest and daily backyard visits from the deer were an added bonus. Thank you Gordon for sharing your home with us! We'll definitely book again for '27 (assuming our family doesn't grow too fast!) lol

Fabulous Hilton Head Location

This property is spacious, well appointed, and super close to the ocean. The short walk and easy beach path access were wonderful. The owner is very responsive and easy to work with. There are many amenities and extras included. All of this made for a wonderful experience.

They met at the University of Maryland where Karen was an undergraduate and Gordon after serving as a US Army officer was a graduate student. Gordon is a 1970 graduate of The Citadel and a retired AVP with AT&T with 41 years service. He is originally from Hendersonville, NC. Karen graduated from USC in Columbia in 1975 and is an author and a contributing editor for Guideposts Magazine. She grew up in Accokeek, Maryland. They have three sons, Jeff, Chris and John, daughter-in-law Leah, daughter-in-law Bailey, grandson Reed and granddaughter Kendall all of whom live in the Atlanta area. Jeff is a Duke under graduate and Duke MBA graduate, Chris USC in LA undergraduate and Emory MBA, John a UGA under graduate and MBA at U of Maryland graduate, Bailey a UGA graduate and Leah a Ga Tech graduate.

Our family vacationed in Hilton Head and rented homes in Palmetto Dunes for about 6 years before we purchased 18 Mooring Buoy. We found the area to be an ideal vacation spot for families especially with children and/or grandchildren. This location is private yet within walking distance to world class golf course, world class tennis facility and much more.

We are a 2.5 minute walk to the beach, 2 minute walk to the PD tennis and pickleball court center, 3 minute walk to Trent Jones Golf Course and 3 minute walk to restaurants. The ocean, private pool and spa are magnets for all. We enjoy bike rides throughout Palmetto Dunes, boating on the lagoons, tennis, grilling outside and dining in our favorite restaurants. We provide bikes, kayaks, corn hole, putting green, screened porch, private sun deck, private heated pool, SPA and every kitchen utensil you can imagine.
