Small space but had everything we needed for two people. So close to the beach which was great. Rained so didn’t get to use the firepit. Kitchen and bathroom had everything we could have forgotten. Communication with the owner was easy and quick!
We had a wonderful time at the little red cottage! It was just a perfect size for a family of four! It had all the amenities a family needs when traveling and offered the perfect location!
No issues with booking, check-in or maintenance. This was a very nice cottage in an excellent location (quiet, close to the beaches, Niantic and New London) with plenty to do.
We won't hesitate to book it again the next time we're in the area.
Our family of four stayed at the Little Red Cottage for three nights. Pleasure beach was a short walk (or drive) and we had an amazing time. The house had chairs and beach toys which was appreciated. The house had everything we needed for our stay. Close to a lot of stores and activities.
The photos of the property are accurate. The local beach is more of a cove, which is great if you have small children. Not an ocean vibe if you like waves. We went to Harkness Park and enjoyed more of the ocean experience. It's a beautiful place for walking and ocean breezes and is just a 5 minute drive from the cottage. The proximity to Mystic, Niantic, as well as Misquamicut makes for a great location. Plenty of restaurants and good fresh seafood. A very peaceful neighborhood.
We loved it. The cottage is very comfortable, spotless, well-equiped and has really cute nautical themed decorations. Our kids loved hanging out in the huge back yard and on the great front porch. Even on scorching hot days, the breeze from Niantic Bay just across the street made it pleasant. Loved riding the bikes provided by Christina back and forth to Pleasure Beach. The neighborhood is quiet and great for walking and bike riding.
We stayed here with our one and two and a half year old for three nights and it was a perfect getaway. Christina messaged us that the place would be ready one hour before planned, which was so helpful to getting settled and walking to the beach for our first evening. The cottage is excellent for a family - downstairs with pull out couch and plenty of room for a pack and play, and upstairs private area for reading and relaxing once the kids went down. We lived in the yard that was stocked with games and wildlife - a bunny stayed for our entire dinner out there. The outdoor shower was such a treat. Walkable to great beaches, short drive to sweet Niantic, which scratched the itch for a clam shack dinner and ice cream. Can’t wait to visit again!

Disappointed
This is our second year staying at the cottage and we loved it last year! This year on the other hand we had so many issues it was more stressful than enjoyable. When checking into it the house we found some issues and contacted the host as directed and she texted back saying the cleaning company must have been confused, and didn’t respond back till the next morning to rectify the issue. Then we requested the parking pass she has for the cottage and did not receive it. (I am 8 months pregnant) Also 2 of the beach passes were for 2022 and the man at the gate gave us a hard time entering the beach each time. She did compensate us for our troubles which was greatly appreciated. But the night before check out she requested we check out at 10 instead of 11 even though she did confirm that 11 is the Vrbo contract check out time. She also drives by and has texted issues with the outside of the house both years, one being how we parked last year and this year about the lawn company not putting chairs around the fire pit back properly. It’s nice her being close for issues but we do enjoy our privacy. She did inform us of things going on in her life and we are sympathetic to that but I spent half of my 4 day vacation going back and forth with the host via texts. Sad to say but we will not be going back to the little red cottage.
Christina was very responsive and helpful if a question came up. It is small which we knew, but probably better if you’re not being tied to “home” for the entire stay or your time there is rainy with little ones, since there is only really the futon for a sitting area. That said, the front porch was great for relaxing and the back yard is huge and has a great fire pit and wood supply. I misread the listing and thought from the pictures that there were two beds. It’s a bed upstairs and a futon in the small living room. Cleaning people missed a few spots but nothing major and Christina responded. No big deal but wanted her to know it was an oversight for the next guests. As pictured, the stairs are steep and narrow so not for an older person or someone with mobility issues. Great AC and tower fan in the bedroom. Cabin feel. We were at an athletics event during the day and were there for breakfast and then porch sitting at night. It worked well for our visit.Kitchen was lovely and the basics are all there. Beach passes are a huge benefit and it’s just about 2-3 short blocks away. Great fishing spot at the boat launch just at before the beach. Great value for the price and Christina was very attentive.
The cottage was charming, clean and well stocked with just about anything you would need. The beach is the best, private and immaculate and a very short walk. Christina was very responsive to a small issue that arose which she resolved in less than an hour. We couldn't have asked for a better host and we will definitely be going back.
We spent the weekend at the Little Red Cottage! It is adorable, compact, well-appointed and stocked with everything one might need. The hostess was friendly, attentive, accommodating and responsive. The location is convenient to beaches, restaurants, major highways and stores. Strongly recommend for 2 adults and/or 2 adults and smaller children as it is a compact home. LOVED it!!
We really enjoyed everything about the Little Red Cottage. It was the perfect location for day trips around the state. Everything was just as it stated it would be and the host provided clear and concise information for check in and out. We enjoyed the peaceful neighborhood with perfect location to everything. Looking forward to another stay in the future.
Clean and cozy cottage. The front porch was my favorite place. Deer came every evening in the spacious backyard.Bedroom stairs are narrow and steep but that was mentioned in the review. Would go back again.
There is no way to overstate how our whole experience at this lovely property was "big," not "little." All descriptions and photos (well, except for the porch, where the swing has been removed and replaced with two more comfy wicker chairs and end table) are accurate. Hostess Christina is an all-star, and everything is smooth as silk. Things do get a little cramped when the hide-a-bed is deployed, but such is life. Everything about TLRCAPB exudes beach and leisure and comfort. And then there are the pillows: bed pillows, throw pillows, bigger throw pillows, sultan's tent-type pillows, and on and on. We were going to try to count, but gave up. Care to relax, anyone?
Wonderful location, easy access to beach and area restaurants and shops, nice neighbors, beautifully appointed cottage with stylish, high quality furnishings, linens and household needs. Wonderful property with a nice big lawn for games , the best front porch for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. I felt very much at home! My only regret- I should have planned a longer stay!
This was an adorable little cottage with nice updates. It was clean, comfortable and the location cannot be beat -- close to the beach and to numerous seaside towns and tourist attractions. We love it and would definitely return!
Great house with water views from the porch, short 5” walk to beautiful beaches. Everything was there and clean. Stairs to bedroom were quaint and steep but that is how they were pictured and did not present a problem. Great restaurants within a few miles. Slight glitch which the owner took care of immediately. Would stay again, the breezes off the water were heavenly
