Unique experience which I enjoyed. It's glamping at its finest. The raging river is just spectacular and very relaxing. Secluded down in the gorge. I loved it. Owner is great with communication even if there were six hours difference between us because she also was on a trip, but made sure to stay up to make sure I got there, and everything was good. Would love to go back with a group of friends to the other property, The barn.
This property is AMAZING!!! It is private but yet within a short drive to restaurants, shops, and beautiful outdoor waterfalls/rivers. It is very well furnished, well decorated, and the landscaping is beautiful. Such a peaceful and wonderful get away!!!! The owner was so gracious and helpful with booking/check in and any questions. We can't way to come back and stay again!!!!!!!!! Angel L

River Love Tiny Adventure is an adorable experience! I’ve been staying in the western NC mountains for 11 years now and this was the most unique place I have visited. Easy to access, yet tucked away and peaceful. Our host, Kangee, has put lots of little details into designing this space and caring for her guests. The river is stunning, firepit perfect. She even left a fire starter for us. Beyond the adorable little space itself, Kangee is by far the kindest most helpful and accommodating host I’ve ever experienced. We got a flat tire on our way in and she voluntarily offered us a late check out to enjoy the property in the morning. So so so kind! Making sure we had every moment we could to savor the peaceful surroundings. Don’t hesitate to stay here. Absolutely recommend
We arrived exhausted and we were delighted to find a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.
We enjoyed our time very much and look forward to another visit
It was a beautiful property. Th time home was so unique and eclectic. The Adirondack chair the river so relaxing. Close to Highlands and Franklin. Kangee was so informative about where to hike and restaurants in the area. We had a great time. Just a beautiful area and wonderful place to stay.
This is a wonderful property with a wonderful owner. Everything is accounted for, the items supplied go above and beyond what is to be expected. The location is great and the river is beautiful. And of course the unique lodging meets all expectations. We visited the local waterfall and went horseback riding during our stay. We grilled, enjoyed the river, and caught fish as well. I would recommend a stay here during any season.
This was a magical, unique little gypsy hideaway! The communication with the owner was quick, efficient and professional. Once booked I received a wealth of information on the accommodations as well as the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for something out of the ordinary, it’s a true gem! 💎
This place is a hidden gem. It was so quiet and comfortable. The river is beautiful and the owner of this property is one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. We got there a little early and she was there making sure everything was perfect for our stay. She’s as genuine as they come. We are already planning to go back as soon as possible. I would give 10 stars if I could. We have definitely found our favorite place to stay in Highlands, NC.
Art Gallery / Museum / Nature / River / Wildlife - all in one
We found this property by searching for a place that would provide spaces to enjoy the outdoors even in inclement weather. We loved the uniqueness of the listing and booked Tiny! We fell in love with the place upon arrival. The landscaping was beautiful and provided natural privacy. We saw many birds including blue birds, hummingbirds, gold finches, cardinals and more. Kangee not only created a unique place to stay she also provided everything you could possibly want or need. The outdoor shower was so refreshing. Very few things beat relaxing by a noisy and soothing river. The close proximity to Highlands and Franklin was helpful. So many waterfalls nearby! We hated to leave but will definitely return. Do yourself a favor and book one of Kangee’s properties. She is on top of everything!!
Perfect lodging. Perfect river views. Perfect amenities.
Perfect communication by property owner/manager which made everything about our stay seamless and stress free. I could not have found a better property for our quick getaway where we wanted to relax and be in nature. The adventure home is unique, special and fully equipped for every single thing you could possibly need. The outdoor shower and bath is so serene & private. The ride to the property from Highlands was beautiful and majestic. We purchased groceries in Highlands so we wouldn't have to leave once we arrived. It was the right decision! I could go on and on....We will absolutely go back many more times. Already looking at the calendar for a return trip. Thank you Kangee for sharing your sanctuary with us!

Disappointing Stay – Misleading Description
We were really looking forward to this stay, but unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. The listing is very misleading in several key ways. The photos are outdated—by several years. The space looks much different now, with a far more cluttered aesthetic. Inside, the tiny house is packed with old decorations and items that feel more like hoarded junk than curated charm. There is almost no usable space—no counter space, nowhere to set anything down, and no real kitchen as described. The one sink is next to the toilet, and the "coolers" listed are just basic beer coolers—not powered or practical for food storage. The king bed is only accessible by climbing a tall stepstool and pulling yourself up using the bar—completely unsafe for anyone with mobility issues (this really should be stated clearly in the listing). The “outdoor shower and tub” are tucked behind half-dead potted trees with mismatched curtains held up by chip clips—very DIY and not particularly comfortable or private. As for the river access, while it is technically about 150 feet away, it’s not suitable for swimming or exploring. It’s a fast section with no room to move around or enjoy the water. Finally, the place is not secluded—there are multiple houses easily visible from the property, which takes away from the privacy the listing claims. We felt hoodwinked and left a day early, very disappointed. This place needs serious decluttering, a more accurate listing, and updated photos.
My wife and I got married and wanted a little getaway, we are going on our actual honeymoon sometime next year but wanted to enjoy the mountains for a day or two and we found this lovely little tiny house. Kangee is by far the best host we have ever dealt with. We had a car accident the morning we were supposed to head down and she was gracious enough to let us come the following morning as well as let us stay the next night to replace the first night we missed. This was the cutest little place and we enjoyed staying in more than we did going out. We fished in her little honey hole and every time I threw in a line I was getting a bite before I even had time to click my rod. The view at night is absolutely beautiful of the stars. The bathtub might have been our favorite spot though! I loved all the little treasures on the inside for decoration. I absolutely recommend this place as well as any of her other places.
Peaceful, nostalgic, unique, and liberating. My wife and I had an impromptu trip up to Highlands and picked this place for it's simplicity and location. It did not fail to impress! We loved everything about the accommodations and we had everything we needed. Kangee was a GREAT host and worked with us to stay an extra night when we decided we wanted one more day of mountain paradise. From early morning coffee by the river, to swimming in the refreshing Cullasaja River, to relaxing by the fire at night, I can't say enough great things about this gem. Highly recommend a stay!
As a host, I pay attention to detail. I believe everything from the listing and pricing to the specifics of the home are equally important. Guests appreciate my communication skills on specifics such as house rules and general information to the best events happening in the area during your stay. My motto is that both guests and hosts need to be thrilled about the experience and that happens with preparation and communication.
