Absolutely adorable little cottage in a very convenient area to lots of hiking and other adventures. Highland NC just a short drive away. On site trails and little river. Description of property was spot on. We hiked, enjoyed watching the birds, grilled dinners and most importantly relaxed on porch listening to nature and the river. Quiet and peaceful. Hosts were super friendly and knowledgeable about the area and even had a delicious homemade sweet bread on arrival. Would highly recommend! Thank you Carman!!

Peaceful Retreat

The property was a great opportunity for my wife and I to escape from work and enjoy the tranquility of the mountains. We explored several parks in Georgia and kayaked multiple times on lake Emory in Franklin. We also visited lake Glenville and Cherokee. This is a good quiet pace for a couple to relax and also explore the area. The owners are very nice and knowledgeable of the area.

Felt like home 🏠

We absolutely loved our stay. This cozy cottage had very personal touches and warm welcomes added. Our host Carman added fresh-cut flowers and made us feel most welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed the Mountain View and birds from the porch. The nearby trails and creeks were an added bonus. We cannot wait to come back to this special gem!

Wonderful Place for a Weekend Get-A-Way

Had a great time during our long weekend vacation. The cabin has all of the utensils and appliances for your kitchen needs. Just stop at the supermarket down the road and your set. Only wish that the cabin was less cluttered with the owners personal items which takes up a fair amount of storage space.

Amazing little cabin

We loved this cute little cabin. It is so charming and Carmen has added personal touches throughout. The fresh flowers were the icing on the cake. Jennifer is the one responsible for keeping the cabin clean and orderly and she does an excellent job. The small waterfalls are beautiful and the atmosphere is very peaceful. I recommend this cute cabin to all couples.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

Carmen and Jim are amazing! Communication was top notch, private setting, and perfect size for the two of us. We used the kitchen for dinners and it had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable, and the porch was a nice place to relax after hiking all day and chasing waterfalls throughout the tristates of GA, NC and SC! Thanks for the memories!

Quiet get away

Tiny cottage, nestled on the side of a fool hill with beautiful trails and small waterfalls to explore. If you looking for a quiet peaceful place to stay, this is it. Even though it rained the first day, we had a wonderful relaxing time. I caught up on reading, hiking and exploring local antique shops. We visited a local winery, distillery and Mudcreek waterfall all within a short drive of the property. Carmen and Jim were the sweetest people! Thank you for a very peaceful and relaxing weekend.

Nice getaway

We enjoyed our stay. The setting is fabulous! We loved sitting on the rocking chairs and enjoying the view and watching the hummingbirds. We enjoyed our walk to the falls and the firepit. A couple things could be improved: 1. The tv in the bedroom is blocked by the four poster bed. (Maybe remove the large cabinet it is in and put the tv on the wall) 2. The mattress was uncomfortable for us. 3. No place to put your toiletries in the bathroom. Jim and Carman were great hosts!

Great getaway for couples

We enjoyed staying in this lovely little cottage! It was clean and well supplied with extras throughout the house. The cake and fresh flowers from their garden was just extra special! The owners are super nice people who give you all the privacy that you want, but are right there if you should need anything (which we didn't). The walk to the waterfall with the swing beside it is short and not grown up at all. Very pretty! The only TV is in the bedroom, so we relaxed a lot! The only thing I missed was a ceiling fan that I am used to at home, but the chandelier in the bedroom is so pretty. We would definitely recommend this cabin for couples! It's private and quiet with a pretty view and a wonderful front porch! What more would you want??

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this delightful cottage! It was a welcome haven from the busy world, and especially restful because it was exactly as described and actually even better. It was the tiny things like the Phillips head screwdriver and the flathead screwdriver in the kitchen that just spoke to how well Carman took care of her guests. We’re delighted to have this retreat on our radar now.

Great week in the mountains!

The cottage is spotless, cozy, and comfortable. The special touches of fresh flowers and delicious pound cake were over the top! Mountain views from the front porch rockers, watching birds and hummingbirds frequenting the feeders, and the sound of the river below are awesome! Jim and Carman are gracious hosts and just good folks, who bend over backwards to take care of their guest. There are trails and waterfalls right on the property, and plenty of things to do in the area. We look forward to coming back again! Thank you Jim and Carman!

Anniversary Gateway

This is a beautiful little cottage, perfect if you are looking to get the true feelings of mountain life. It is secluded, you will not see or hear any neighbors or other noise but the birds singing, yet it is close to the main road. We were given directions over the phone by the owners and arrived safely to the cottage. Upon arrival there were fresh cut flowers, a dessert and since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, a bottle of chilled sparkling wine. Everything was very clean and neat, extra attention to detail was shown everywhere. Mountain views from the living room and bedroom, a spectacle of birds feeding and singing in the porch while having our morning coffee on the rocking chairs. Hike right there to the woods and creek behind the cottage. Quiet, beautiful sunset views right from the porch. Internet connection was very good Anyway, it was lovely!! Perfect if you are looking for secluded, quiet, vintage, enjoy nature, hikes, birds watching and swings.

Welcome to Roberson family farm. I was launched into the culinary field both in education and career.by Univ. of GA.
In 1997, I returned to the homestead to care for my Mother and to fashion the next chapter of my life. I purchased the building and moved it to the site and set about making it a haven for myself. After Mother passed, I tackled the original farmhouse eventually moving in there when Jim retired and moved to the farm.
I am deeply connected to this land, this area, this paradise. There is much maintenance on a farm this size and of course one must pay the "taxes on Tara" I had thought to sell some acreage, but the realtor I was working with suggested VRBO and thus began my newest career. It is my dream to pass along the farm to my beautiful and talented and daughters. It is a blessing to share homecoming with my children, grandchildren and friends. I feel the land calling to me, I hear the word enduring, I hear my Mother playing the fiddle, and I hear my Dad calling "Baby Snooks" time to come in.
The preparation for inviting guest to the cottage opened my eyes to the abundance of flora and fauna, the natural beauty that surrounds us. Blooming abundantly are wildflowers, wild herbs, berries-black berries, wild black raspberries , elderberries, wild blueberries, and black walnuts trees. Deer, wild turkey, rabbits, grouse and occasional bear can be seen.
There are nights when the cottage is empty, so Jim and I take advantage and enjoy the night coming down, the moon rises, and the river sparkles and its quiet and there is peace

Why they chose this property

This is a piece of paradise chosen by Carman's family Wonderful family farm with some of the original out buildings Carman has a deep roots and abiding love of the surroundings natural beauty. Jim also comes from a farming family background. Jim is captain of the Honey Do List. The cottage is part of the family farm Take a walk on the milder side; an easy stroll through nature. Our nature trails is a great place to find a lot of solitude and fresh air. You can see the stars at night. The natural landscape is beautiful, especially in the spring, when the returning coaxes every shade of green is, imaginable from the forest. There are wild apples in blum, pussy willows, fiddlehead ferns, You might see red crossbill, yellow warbles or scarlet tanagers or you can hear them. Chipmunks are very abundant in the early spring doing there busy errands. Late in the day you might see rabbits or deer. The meadow will be wildflowers beginning to bloom.

What makes this property unique

The cottage has a Little Tennessee River view that is very restful. The River is one of the few that runs North. Bring your fishing pole to try your luck at a great catch .There 4 private waterfall on the property, several walking and log mountain trails to follow. The private streams have lots of minerals as ruby and specks of gold to pan .Just ask, we supply the gold pans and ruby mining. The afternoon sunset are of different colors and changes very fast with each view more beautiful. The family farm is part of the NC AGRITOURISM.
