The Quarry house was amazing. So much history and the view of the bay and the sunsets were perfect. The owner was super responsive to our questions and the Gloucester community was welcoming. I highly recommend this house and hope to visit again!
My family loved staying in this historic house! It was so peaceful and the views were incredible, our stay was much too short! The home is so comfortable and the antiques and artwork were fascinating. It was a perfect place for the bride and her bridal party to get ready for the wedding, thank you for sharing your home with us!
My family enjoyed the house and view very much. We had a great vacation and the house was so cozy to rest in between site seeing. However the house definitely needs a furnace. Forest was a wonderful host ☺️
The house has great charm and the beds were comfy.
It is an older home that comes along with some quirks but nothing that can spoil the beautiful property and location! Forest was very responsive and helpful.

Thank you Lyla, we are glad you enjoyed your time with us.
To say the least the property has history and great charm. There were 5 of us and all got a bedroom. The cove was breathtaking. Contact with the owner was awesome as we shared a few texts. Thank you for a great time
This historic, quirky, well stocked and magnificently located farm house was just an amazing place to stay!! Loved everything about this home, from the quaint old furnishings to the private beach and walking out on the breakwater for the incredible view. Kitchen has anything and everything you might need, including pantry items. Lots of beach towels, beach chairs and we enjoyed kayaking around the bay. Highly recommend staying here and we hope to return to this home next summer!
The house was great, very clean & the living room area was great, much bigger than expected. We had a fire 2 nights & played games every night at the table. Forrest was great to deal with, very helpful & always responsive. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
This property exceeded our expectations and our family trip for a wedding was the best ever! We are already looking at dates to go back. If you want a house with a lot of history, the best views and a private beach look no further! You will not be disappointed! In addition, Forrest was readily available with any questions we had and was the best host I have dealt with (this is the 11th VRBO we have rented). Also, the kitchen was stocked with spices and everything you could possibly think of. If I could give 10 ⭐️ I would!
The house is so fun and cute! The photos don’t do it justice. Everything is charming and it has everything you could possibly need. It was hard to leave the house to go into other towns because it was so cozy and had chill vibes. And then there are the views - the views are incredible from every room! You are right on the water. It’s so peaceful and the ocean is a very quick walk from the house. The owner is also very communicative and was so helpful from the initial booking until we checked out. I really appreciate how thoughtful all the instructions were as as well. I hope to stay here again in the near future!
Forest and his mother Ginger, as well as their family member Happy were all a pleasure to deal with. Their communication was perfect and they were accommodating to every question and concern that we had. Definitely easy people to work with. The check in and checkout times were standard for this type of rental but I would say the checkout procedure was above average easy. The location is great, as any long-term stay can be accommodated by about a 15-minute trip to a local Market Basket as well as several smaller provisions closer by.The property... Boy oh boy the property.....It's truly a secret I'm letting out because if you're reading this and thinking about renting from forest and his family, you have struck gold. This house is part of a large estate owned by dozens of members that take excellent care of a large Oasis on the ocean. The views and the nature that surround the property are extraordinary. The private beach is visited only by other estate renting members as well as the family who is part of the large estate. It makes for a private, exciting, peaceful environment. If you're into lawn games and tennis, there are great provisions for both, if you are in for an ocean kayak, you have been taken care of already, if you're looking for a big cozy house to stare at the ocean from, you have been blessed.I had the privilege to marry my wife here and this place will forever be special. It's view is immaculate, it is well maintained, and it is the place to be.TYJesus
THE VIEW IS AWESOME! House was clean, comfortable, old but updated and wonderfully quirky. Beds were very comfortable with clean, soft sheets, lots of towels and pillows. Kitchen was well stocked. Forrest is a wonderful host, very responsive. The ocean view will knock your socks off. Highly recommend, hope to go back again.
Everyone loved this old, classic New England farm style house. So much space and character. Porches were awesome to gather for breakfast and late night, relaxing and enjoying the view. Path down to the beach was challenging for older folks, but younger adults enjoyed using the kayak and paddleboards that we brought. House was well-equipped with everything you could need, especially the kitchen. It was perfect to gather for a family wedding nearby and the yard was awesome for pre-wedding pictures. Bring plenty of food, though -- not many options for groceries. Grill or go out for seafood. Wish we could have stayed longer and would love to come back again. Can't thank Forrest enough for offering up his home.

Thank you so much Beverly we are glad you enjoyed your time, and hope you choose to come back
The property location was perfect. The The views and sunsets over the cover were breath taking. The two porches were perfect for day and evening enjoyment. Our only concern was that the beds were old and uncomfortable and the door to the queen bedroom upstairs did not close tightly.
Quarry House is a traditional New England summer residence which 3 generations of my family thoroughly enjoyed during our one week August vacation (2020).
The house features nine foot ceilings and a double porch (upstairs and down) with spectacular views of Ispwich Bay.
Most importantly, the property is completely self-contained, other than to make runs for groceries and lobster rolls, you can leave your vehicle in the circular drive. If you want to venture out, both Rockport Center and Gloucester Harbor are close by.
A private uncrowded sandy beach, tennis courts and walking trails, along over 60 acres of Trust property, allow for a complete sense of safety, regarding children and serenity for the adults.
The house is well stocked with appliances, cook ware, and plenty of summer reading materials.
Quarry House received a big thumbs up from the entire family, and the owner (Forrest) was extremely helpful with comprehensive information regarding both the house and its environs.
Our group had a wonderful time at the Quarry House. The house was comfortable and the property was spectacular. The fireplace was perfect for cool autumn evenings!
