We loved our stay at the cabin! It was a great spot to enjoy hiking and some time on Lake Lure. We really enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch, the game room during rainy afternoons, and the kayaks down at the marina.

Outstanding mountain view from porch and highly recommended overall. Great property, well maintained and very clean. Good communication with host, simple check-in and check-out. Be sure to leave some time to explore the property and lake. If snow/ice, 4-wheel drive may be necessary to get up the driveway.

Thank you for your kind review! Although we are located in the mountains, we are fortunate to be in a thermal belt, so we seldom experience snow or icy conditions. However, if the roads do become icy, we strongly recommend that guests avoid driving until conditions improve, as the mountain roads can become hazardous. The good news is that you do not need a 4-wheel-drive vehicle to get up our driveway, even during the winter months.

We loved the cabin and the area! The host was so easy and responsive to communicate with. The cabin had plenty of room for the 6 of us and beautiful views. It came with everything you needed, and then some. The ping pong table was a fun bonus. Overall, I would highly recommend this rental.

Family vacation in Lake Lure. This was a wonderful home! Clean, comfortable, quiet with great views. The town is still undergoing some rebuilding but still plenty of good restaurants, shops and an Ingles. Wendy was a great host. Answered all our questions immediately. I’m sure we’ll rent again.

This host thinks of every little detail. From high quality towels and linens to even having a few extra sweatshirts in the closet if you don’t account for the cool evenings! It was above and beyond clean and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Didn’t want to leave!

We love this place! The view from the deck is second to none. We spent most of our time out there with morning coffee or grilling. The neighborhood is so quiet and the residents are very nice!

Great cabin

Wendy and Tim's cabin is just what it appears to be in the listing. It was a beautiful house in a beautiful location. Very clean and comfortable. We used everything they had to offer for a great two weeks.

Secluded spot, yet near the hot spot of Chimney Rock

Gummy Bear

Beautiful cabin with a beautiful view. Very close to Chimney Rock & Lake Lure, and a nice drive to Asheville. Everything stocked except for food (and actually there was some in fridge & pantry). Had a wonderful stay! Loved the big windows!

Great stay @ Lake Lure

We had a great stay at the Gummy Bear Cabin. It was a short walk down to the kayak drop area, and the large green park area down the stairs from the property were a hit for our young son who wanted to kick his ball around and hit some whiffle balls. The house is well appointed and we were not lacking for anything. Grocery store (Ingles) is about 20 min way (as are most amenities, restaurants, etc.) and navigating the Lake Lure beach was simple and straightforward. We enjoyed our stay!

Cabin with a view

The cabin was exactly as described. Everything inside was quite new and worked perfectly. The beds are very comfortable as is the furniture. The deck provides a great view of the cliffs on the north side of Hickory Nut Gorge. We didn't get to use the kayaks, but the Village beach area looks great. In spite of some rain we very much enjoyed our stay.

Everything's there except you

The Gummy Bear cabin was perfectly situated with convenient access to a private beach, and picturesque view of the surrounding mountains. The wrap around porch invited us each evening to sip cocktails, relax, and look and listen to the local wildlife. One night a full moon lit up the mountain side. The cabin itself was well appointed, and everything we needed was there. It comfortably fits six.

Pretty mountain town

The house was very nice and in a beautiful setting. The owners were great about reaching out to check in and see if we needed any help. The kitchen was stocked with lots of nice touches like spices, coffee, and tea. Our big that was disappointment was that the lake had been drained and was not filled up. We did not realize that was happening so it was our fault, but was a real bummer.

Debra, we are delighted that you enjoyed our house. So sorry to hear about the lake. The town of Lake Lure had dropped the it to do some repairs during the winter and it was scheduled to be back up by April 1 prior to your arrival. Unfortunately mother nature didn't cooperate and provide enough rain by that date. For anyone else coming to visit the town, the good news is, the lake is full again.

Very nice home. Wonderful view. Very quiet neighborhood. We felt very safe there. We also had ample space for our vehicles. Our grandson enjoyed the bird app and within a short time’9 different birds were identified. The downstairs is a fun place, and has a bathroom which is nice. The upstairs bedroom suit feels like you are in a tree house. Be prepared for tight roads. Some one lane. Takes a little getting used to. Lake Lure has come a long way after Helene. Still some roadwork being done. Everyone is very nice, and we had a nice dinner at EL Strada. The owner touched base immediately after we checked in. The heating cooling system was very different to operate for us. Just had to use a remote type device. We did not find one until the day before we left. It was hidden in an unusual place. Behind the headboard of the master bedroom. The first night was very uncomfortable, but after that we just turned it off until morning. The beds are all very comfortable and pretty, but 36 inches high. If you are short you need a stool which was available. The family enjoyed meals around the nice tableTV trays were also available. We enjoyed our stay, and would like to go again even though we live less than an hour away. Be sure to check out the Village small beach and place to put in the 2 provided kayaks. Family loved this! Very nice screened in porch with swing.

Thank you for your review! We’re glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay. We’re sorry you had difficulty with the AC unit. Our guests have not experienced any issues with it in the past, but we certainly understand how frustrating that must have been. Regarding the remote, it was located on the wall next to the bed, but we have since moved it to a more noticeable location to make it easier for our guests to find. If you ever have a question or experience a problem during your stay, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We encourage our guests to reach out while they are staying with us rather than remain frustrated and only mention the issue in a review afterward. As the owners and operators, we are always quick to respond and want to do everything we can to make sure our guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. As for the beds, we measured them after your comment and found that they are 26", 31", and 32" from the floor, respectively. Thank you again for staying with us and for sharing your feedback. We truly appreciate it!

Gummy Bee Cbin--Great Place for a Personal Retreat or Having fun with Family

We needed to take a retreat from our everyday demands and this was the perfect place for us. Before arriving, we picked up a few provisions to carry us through those days when we did not feel like going out to eat at a local restaurant. To our surprise, many of the condiments and spices were already on hand. As we went trough our daily rituals, we were so happy to see how thoughtful the owners were in providing things that you would not necessarily think of to make your stay stressless. They even provided an extra tank of propane for the gas grill and a host of brochures of local establishments and maps of Lake Lure. The hosts were so helpful when needed and respected our privacy.
