About this property

Nestled in the serene beauty of State preserved land rests Woodland Valley, a coveted retreat revered for its natural beauty, wildlife and the Esopus River that runs through it. Located at the foot of Slide Mountain with Panther, Cornell and Wittenberg Mountains surrounding it.

Within the peacefulness of Woodland Valley, you will find our Small Cabin perched mountaintop and eye level to the skyline. Purposed by its smallness; it creates an idyllic mountain escape, the small curated cabin offers everything you need and nothing you don't.

Step inside and retreat within its naturally lit open floor plan, lofted beamed ceilings and its modern tranquillity. Build a fire, grab a book and cozy down into your escape. Step outside and explore the mountainside beauty that is locally adorned as "God's Country". Hike the many trailheads, search waterfalls, swim in secluded watering holes, gather wildflowers, breath fresh mountain air and relax. A few minutes drive brings you to Phoenicia's adorable town, localized Farm Stands, the famed Phoenician Diner and a 20 min scenic drive to the lively Woodstock and Hunter Mountain

The setting sun brings the myriad of stars, fireflies, the absolute quiet (soothed by the natural sounds of the river running nearby ). Perfect the evening by gathering to the outdoor fire pit and enjoying some drinks fireside. Rise with the bright morning sun and drink in the mountain air while you make breakfast and plan another relaxing day...

Our small cabin has been completely renovated and lavishly decorated to ensure elevated comfort and offer a true escape. WiFi is available if you wish to bring your laptop but there is also a Roko TV. The cabin is an ideal couple's retreat, with a Queen size bedroom, the second smaller room has a daybed that can easily unfold to a queen size sleeper if you care to invite another guest or don't and keep it as an additional lounging space.

The kitchen is fully equipped for the chefs and features a gas stove and oven. A dishwasher and laundry are available for use. The bathroom has an extra deep soaking tub with hot water on demand. Just steps outside the kitchen door brings you to a bluestone patio with a lounging area, a fire pit, outdoor dining and a grill.

We have included a welcome book featuring the curation of all the places we found and enjoy There are so many fun things to do and explore, places to shop and eat, you will find yourself wishing for more days. (don't worry! you will return!)

That fire place 😍

My wife and I have been working and grinding with little time to ourselves for a very long time. We finally looked at eachother and said we needed a getaway. We sifted through many places finally coming across Max’s cabin. I can’t think of a better way to spend a February weekend then to be locked away in a cabin with that amazing fireplace ambience in the Catskills. Thanks again Max the stay was great!

What a great experience!

Max’s cabin is heaven. So quiet, clean, cozy and perfect location. Nearby spots for exploring, everything you could possibly need in Phoenicia, and Woodstock is not too far of a drive away for a more bustling town. We loved it and can’t wait to be back.

AMAZING

This is the best cabin I've ever stayed. We absolutely loved it! It was well stocked with everything we needed, also extremely clean. There was a manual in the kitchen when we arrived, listed informations about the cabin as well as recommended places to visit. Which we found very helpful. All the furnitures and decorations in the cabin are extremely lovely and you can tell instantly that the owner put a lot of work in it to create such a beautiful house. One of my favorite parts of this cabin is that you can see the outdoor dining area through the window in the kitchen, we cooked and had dinner at the relaxing patio both nights of our stay. And Max was very friendly, responsive. Always reply my messages promptly which I truly appreciate. It was an amazing experience and we wished we could longer! Thank you for having us! Will definitely visit again and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

A Dream Hudson Valley Experience with Kind Hosts

Not only did we enjoy our stay, but it was one of the best rental by owner experiences my wife and I have ever had. Max's cozy space is beyond well appointed, with thoughtful touches and inviting features throughout the entire home. The kitchen is gorgeous, and the color of the cabinets and high design of the cooking implements and utensils makes it feels like its own separate space despite the size of the cabin. The living room is cozy, and a perfect picture of what one could want for a Hudson Valley cabin experience. The place is clean, everything is provided for, and although we didn't get to spend as much time on the outdoor stone patio as we would like, its a great view and must be a dream in the summer and spring. Lastly, Max was attentive, responsive, and most of all kind, which just puts the cherry on top of the whole experience. My wife and I can't stop raving about Max's cabin, thanks for having us.

This cabin is special in every way. We wanted to create
small spaces for those who may be interested in exploring what smaller paired down living is like. We love what smaller brings us, freeing one of unnecessary housework, gathering family and friends together in cozier quarters. In a small home you can feel the outside, allowing the nature to encompass you even when indoors. We curated not only the interiors of the cabin but also it's location, searching and searching until we found the most serene, tranquil setting.
