This cosy and romantic apartment has a private garden on the river front (that is separate to the building), perfect to enjoy breakfast at sunrise or a glass of wine as you take in the amazing alpine glow sunset.

Fantastic property - small but perfectly proportioned for a couple and one grown child. Views are amazing, property is fully kitted out and the front lawn perfect in the afternoon for the sunsets. Loved it.

Property is fantastic, nice and quiet, beautiful view, very pleasant. Juliet is a great host. Be conscious that it’s a short drive/ride or walk to nearest supermarket, however being in a quiet and lovely area more than makes up for this.

Amazing apartment in a beautiful location

We had a wonderful stay at the apartment, it is in a great location with views that are picture perfect. It’s a good 20 minute walk into town, but we went over the train bridge then along the water and past the cows (love those cowbells) and it is a lovely walk. Would highly recommend as long as you are relatively fit to walk.

A piece of heaven

I love this property. Waking up and going to sleep with such a fantastic view of the mountains and river is wonderful. I love that it’s just outside of town but easily within walking distance; it’s a welcome break from all the tourists in town. I’ve stayed here twice in two years. The property manager is very nice and accommodating to questions. I feel like this property is a little slice of heaven. I will definitely be back again.

Interlaken fun

We had a wonderful stay in Juliet’s apartment by the river. The view from the apartment is absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed relaxing along the river. Everything was as indicated on the VRBO site. The walk to town and many walking trails made it a great location to hit the trails. My husband is 6’5” and the door frames are quite low if you are a tall person. It didn’t seem to bother us but he had to always remember to duck.

Essence of Switzerland

This was the best part of our vacation to Europe. We were blown away by the view to the lake and mountains right in front of you. When Juliet’s responses over vrbo were delayed it was a bit frustrating. Once we discovered that communication over whatsapp is what she preferred we immediately realized how quick she is in responding to our needs and questions. She even arranged for the taxi for our flight back and assured that if the taxi does not turn up she would give us a ride. The property itself though a bit of walk is very easily accessible from the Interlaken Ost station. She also provided with free bus tickets and they came in handy when our legs were tired from walking. This was a great base for us to explore switzerland. Juliet left generous coffee , sugar etc and kitchen utensils. The garden access right by the turquoise blue waters was the highlight and we enjoyed many family meals there. Overall it was a blast. We would definitely rent the property again in our next visit.

nice apartment

The location of the apartment is interesting. It is right on the Aare River, as the picture shoes. That means the Brienz Lake ferry goes by every hour or so, tooting its whistle, there is a railroad bridge not far away (it is on the walk to Interlaken Ost train station) that trains cross frequently. We walked to Interlaken Ost every day, but took the 102 bus back to the apartment as we had by then had a long day and the walk from the Goldswil Dorf bus station, closest to the apartment was all downhill through the surrounding neighborhood. The apartment itself is old but clear and well-maintained. There is no extra charge to use the washer/dryer which is close by in the next building. The remodeled room in the apartment is the bathroom, which is about the smallest I have seen. The shower is nice, but to use the toilet, there is a sign on the bathroom door saying not to close the door. In fact, one probably couldn't close the door while sitting on the toilet (Ok for a couple, could be awkward for more than two), but the sink is so small as to be nearly useless. Thankfully the kitchen sink is available.

Don’t count on bikes

We knew this place was out of the way, but I booked it because of the bikes. Rental Manual said keys to the locks will be hanging on the bike handle. There was 1 key, on a chair. Of the 4 bikes, only 1 in working condition. 1 had a fender hanging off hitting the tire. Another the fender rubbing on the front tire ( couldn’t bend it off) . Last bike the handle bars were loose and rotated up and down. Couldn’t control. Unfortunately previous renters were disrespectful to the bikes and the management does not check out what they promise. If you wanted to kayak, it was 1/2 covered in water and slimmy. I never cared about that. Was never going to use. Washer/dryer is public for others to use. You have to use an electric card to operate them. No biggy… but you cannot wash while the other person is drying since it’s their electricity. We were only there 38 hours. So time was of essence. Thankfully the person said they could wash other loads later. The dryer worked great. House was very clean. Bed super comfy. Shower was great. It was hot when we were there, upper 80’s. The breeze off that glacier feed river gave us a wonderful cool breeze. Cows across the river have bells on their necks. They eat and ring that bell from 5:30-21:30 Can’t hear if windows closed. They had a nice tall fan. Much needed. We spent more on taxis with bike situation. Walked to dinner but taxied back. 1 mile walk to edge of town is pretty. And cool with river breeze. Would have liked to bike around both lakes.

Wonderful guests. Treated the property beautifully. Would love to host again. We have since serviced the bikes and taken the bikes off as advertised. We leave them there only to get bread and croissants from the local supermarket. I am sorry they were not in great condition. They would never be for biking around the lake, you could rent in town a proper mountain bike to do that. The Kayak we checked and does have rain water in it, and slime under it but that is normal for a kayak that sits so close to the water. I am not sure by your review if you enjoyed your stay or not, I really hope you did.

Absolutely Amazing

I really can’t put into words how much I enjoyed my stay at this property. The apartment’s location is right on the river and the water is the bluest fresh water I have seen in my life. You can open the window and watch the sun rise and set over the river while the ducks quack and swans swim with their partners. Even though the location is just a bit outside of town, transportation to and from town was a cinch. Great exercise if you want to walk right along the river or you can venture up a big hill to the bus stop. Most days I walked into town then got the bus back if I had already had lots of exercise. Restaurants nearby were great. The apartment had everything I needed. I was able to cook a few times which was perfect for me. Coffee on the patio overlooking the river was wonderful! Juliet was very obliging. All the locals were very nice greeting you as you walk by them a well. I guarantee I will be back again.

Schöne Wohnung in wundervoller Lage

Wir haben einige tolle Tage hier verbracht, die Lage direkt am See ist wirklich großartig. Von den Fenstern und vom Garten aus blickt man direkt auf die Aare kurz vor der Mündung in den Brienzersee. Das Wasser ist ganz klar und auch Anfang Herbst noch angenehm für ein erfrischendes Bad :-) Die Wohnung ist gut ausgestattet, man findet alles, was man braucht. (Zumindest wenn man nicht wie wir etwas wegräumt, was sich im Nachhinein als Abflusstopfen herausstellt, den wir dann vermisst haben :-D) Die Infos von Juliet im Vorfeld waren perfekt für die Anreise, Parkplatz und Wohnung waren super zu finden. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert!

Quiet base from which to explore. Price reflects location.

The property is quaint. In our opinion it should be totally clear in the advertisement that it is neither suitable for more than two people nor for someone who is tall. The garden is separate from the dwelling - there is no direct access. Some cleanliness and quality improvements could be good ideas given the price.

Beautiful place directly at the water

The apartment was perfect for the two of us! It has everything you need! Especially the garden is wonderful for the breakfast or some drinks to enjoy the view, very nice! The neighborhood is very quiet, you can take many walks in the area and it is very close to Interlaken. Very recommendable!!!

Loved the river outside and view just a 15 min walk from interlarken but nice and quiet the use of the bikes was also a big plus .So mush choce of things to do it was truly amazing all in all a well proportion apartment making us comfortable for a very good time

Super spot with fantastic views

The property is on the edge of Interlaken but only about 20 minutes pleasant walk over the bridge and along the path beside the river which leads to both the boat station and the railway. It is quite delightful to be able to sit out in the garden and watch the boats and breathin the views. The apartment is ideal for a couple and at a pinch upto to children. There is adequate facilities for cooking and barbequing with a large coop and a small late opening coop store at the railway station. Switzerland is not the cheapest place but the travel passes do make for huge savings and are well worth the money. We found the apartment both compact and very pleasant with the use of free bicycles stored below the main area. This is an ideal place to stay for a holiday that can lead to many visits to other destinations, both far and near. We had a fantastic time and would recommend this as a great place to stay.
