Private Home in the Trees within walking distance to the Bay!
Come enjoy a quiet and romantic stay in our home on the Beautiful Oregon Coast. Nestled amongst tall trees on the edge of an estuary overlooking Netarts Bay, our home is a bird watchers paradise. From our front porch, we routinely see great blue herons, bald eagles, egrets, and ducks of all kinds that visit our estuary. A herd of at least 20 elk often pass directly by our property. You can take a short walk down our driveway to the bay and take in a view of virtually untouched beauty. You can hear the ocean at night and the frogs will sing to you as you relax in our hot tub that overlooks the estuary and bay. You can enjoy crabbing, clamming, or fishing on the bay just a short distance from the house. Skiffs setup for crabbing and kayaks are available for rent nearby. We have a variety of rubber boots and clamming gear at the house. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a romantic setting, this is the place to be.
** Note: Up to 2 dogs are welcome to come! There is a $65 pet fee for the additional cleaning required after your departure. ** Note: Your nightly rate includes damage insurance should anything accidentally break or get ruined during your stay. ** Note: I send out a rental acknowledgment to sign electronically after a booking is made. It is very straightforward and simple, but if you would like a copy of the contract beforehand, just let me know! :-)

Great place for our family of 3 adults to spend Thanksgiving. The well stocked kitchen made dinner prep easy. Awesome location in the trees looking out on the bay.
The house was clean. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, cutlery and lots of spices, seasonings and cooking oils; which is always a plus for our family.
We live in the woods and can't see our neighbors, so when this house popped up, I knew it was "it." And I wasn't wrong. The house is beautiful, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen was well-stocked (nonstick pans that were still nonstick!). The elk were in the field as we pulled in, the egrets were out in the estuary the next morning, red wing blackbirds trilling away...heaven! Our favorite part was when we opened the slider to use the hot tub the first night and we were hit with a wall of FROGS!!! Okay, frogs croaking, not actual frogs coming in the door. It was amazing to soak and listen to them. I just wish it had been warmer so I could have enjoyed my morning coffee sitting on the deck. This is the perfect middle spot--we went down to the Newport Aquarium one day, and up to Astoria another day. The one day it rained all day, we headed to the Tillamook Pioneer Museum and the Tillamook Cheese Factory and Blue Heron with dinner at Werner Beef & Brew (if you're looking for the actual "best clam chowder on the coast" it's there...you're welcome).Anyway...thank you SO MUCH for sharing your home. It was the perfect place to spend spring break.
We had a wonderful time bird watching from the house/porch. So many ducks, herons, and egrets! The hot tub was clean and relaxing. The fireplace was a nice touch and the kitchen had everything we needed. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!
Nice house, private, clean and quiet! We had deer, eagles and Mallards on the property. Great location to explore from and come back to for some board games. The host was super helpful.
clean, comfortable, cozy house, conveniently located for lots of outdoor fun! fast internet, easy to cook in kitchen, great views of water and woods

This is our third visit to the Netarts house, and I just booked our fourth. This peaceful, clean, and well-appointed sanctuary in the woods ranks among my family's favorite rentals on the coast. We love the bay, as well as the beaches at Netarts and Oceanside. Working with Shore Thing is a pleasure - the communication and responsiveness are top notch.
A very nice house in a very fine location, clean, quiet and comfortable. The deck, hot tub and fire pit are great places to spend the evening looking out over the marsh. Lots of birds, frogs, bats and other wildlife around. We've stayed here 4 times and look forward to more in the future.
This was our third time staying at this property and it was great as usual, even had sunny days for a nice change. Very quiet, peaceful, and relaxing, especially evenings in the hot tub and around the fire pit. The owner and caretaker are quick to respond to any problem or question, our regards and thanks to both. John and Donna
Lovely home for my husband and me as well as our friends visiting from Cincinnati. The property was equipped with all the amenities we needed- well equipped kitchen, hot tub,and crab boiler.
Would highly recommend. Property manager was quick to answer questions.
Great location-quiet yet close to the bay.
We have been coming to the Netarts House for Iq guess about five years now. Everytime our stay is amazing. This past time we once again enjoyed the view from the hot tub, collecting clams and crab in the bay and cooking delicious seafood dinners in the well equipped kitchen. The only thing we don't like about the house is having to leave. Cannot wait for our next trip back.

We enjoyed the natural surroundings of this property. Very, very clean and well maintained. Sara was an outstanding host - very responsive. She was there immediately one evening when we had an internet connection problem and quickly notified the isp to get the problem fixed. She was both friendly and professional. We will be recommending Shore Thing Vacation rentals to all friends and family.
The house definitely needs better lighting. It’s very dark and the trees need to be trimmed up. There is just a small view of the bay. Only direct sunlight in house is at sunset But overall nice quiet area place to relax
I can say this about every home rental. I am so tired of these rentals having no cupboards for our food. I do not want to stay in a house where I'm staying with all the owners stuff. I also want the closets to be empty of the owners clothes.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. Yes, aren't the views amazing and peaceful? I am sorry you weren't happy with the food in the cabinets. Guests leave spices, oils, sugar...things that. After guest feedback, have learned are convenient to have there just in case. Anything that is unsanitary or could spoil, we would never leave in the home. As far as the items in the closet- the owner lives out of state and does not want to transport things back and forth, but really wanted others to be able to enjoy his home when he is not there. I really do appreciate hearing feedback through, because it helps us make things better for future guests. I hope you had a wonderful time and thank you for coming! Take care :-)
This house is an absolute gem. It offers a beautiful view of the bay that left us in awe every day. The privacy it provides is a true escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The house was clean and had a great design. From sunrise to sunset, the view of the bay is a constant source of inspiration and tranquility. And, if you're a nature enthusiast, the bay is a haven for all sorts of birds, providing endless opportunities for birdwatching. If you're seeking a place to rejuvenate, surrounded by the beauty of nature, this is it. You won't find a more perfect combination of natural beauty, privacy, and a lovely, well-maintained house.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. You are so right. This house is a place of tranquility and I wish everyone can experience it and recognize the wildlife, beautiful trees, the bay. Thank you again for sharing your experience :-) I hope to have you back!!
House has everything you'll need. I really loved how the garage space was open for use. That really helped bringing luggage through it. I need a couple of tools during our stay, and they had a small tool roll away toolbox in the garage that had what I needed.
Bird sanctuary for sure! White Cranes or Herons were everywhere in the ponds and waterways in front of the house. They tree up at night and are fun to watch. Over 20 of them. Not much in the "Beach" department at all, but that's not what we were looking for. Went to Rockaway for that action. I liked being so close to Tillimook and bar/restaurants in Netarts.
Nice towels and linens too!
Would definitely recommend.
The highlight of this property is the peaceful natural setting in the woods looking over a wetland area with the bay in the distance. The sunsets were beautiful and there's great bird watching from the front porch! We also really enjoyed the hot tub, which had the same great view. A downside of the house for me was that there appeared to be a mold problem. Depends on the person how much this will bother you - the smell bothered me more than my husband. I just kept windows open. However, we were impressed with how clean the house was overall. The cleaner does a very thorough job relative to other rentals we've stayed in - thank you for that! The kitchen was decently equipped for cooking, although some things were a bit worn. Warning for tall people: the shower heads are about 5 feet high. I am a female of average height and it was inconvenient for washing my hair. Also, I hope they remove or disable the weather station in the dining room. A loud alarm started going off intermittently at about 6am one morning. It took us a few times of getting woken up and jumping out of bed to figure out it was the weather station. Very annoying. There are always quirks in rentals, but overall, we had a good stay and liked this property. Extra thank you to them for the relatively simple check out procedures! Some rentals make it so complicated and time consuming that you wonder why you are paying a cleaning fee.

Thank you so much for your kind review!! I just wanted to reassure you that there isn't a mold issue. Being by the water and in the trees can sometimes have a moisture like smell, but thankfully no mold :-)
You were such a great guest and we hope to have you back!

you just want to show gratitude for the property owners trusting people to allow them access to the garage which provides a buffer to the house from the elements. also having the means to cook and clean crab is unmeasurableThank You
