Cozy Cabin nestled by a Babbling Brook located between Highlands and Cashiers.
Great location between Highlands/Cashiers/ & Lake Glenville. It is about 12-15 minutes from downtown Cashiers and 17-20 minutes from downtown Highlands and 12-15 minutes frim Lake Glenville. If you are looking for a great get away just to relax and unwind-look no further. This original farmhouse sits above a gentle brook that will relax you as you listen to it glide over the rocks and cascade down. Recent improvements include a gravel walkway from the cabin to a lower rock patio area with adirondack chairs to listen to the brook. The outside of the cabin was thoroughly pressure cleaned and a brand new mattress was added to the king bed in the primary bedroom! The cabin has a wonderful covered porch as well to listen to the brook while you enjoy your cup of coffee. IT has a fully equipped kitchen that opens to the family room with a fire place and flat screen t.v. The full bath has been completely remodeled. The larger bedroom has a king bed with a large love seat that converts to a twin bed and the second bedroom has a queen bed with also a large love seat that converts to a twin bed. There is direct t.v. and high speed internet. There is a washer/dryer for your use and a hammock for relaxation and a corn hole set is provided as well. A new larger couch, recliner, and coffee table were recently added. The crawlspace was just encapsulated with a a very efficient dehumidifier to add to the comfort of your stay. This cabin is about 800 sq ft. Dogs are allowed for a $125/dog nonrefundable fee. Please notify the owner if you desire to bring more than one dog for permission and so the appropriate amount can be charged. The barn and pastures as you approach the cabin property are not to be accessed and are not part of this rental. There are security cameras at the barn and the back pasture, and a ring flood security camera on the house pointed only at the driveway and not at the porch or back side yard. Our second time here and we could not be more pleased. This is the coziest spot I have ever rented in the area. It is quiet and so relaxing. Already booked a return trip!
Such a terrific property, surrounded by beautiful trees and the babbling brook that runs parallel to the cabin was great to sit and relax next to. My wife, our dogs and I will be back to spend more time there again soon! Highly recommended.
Very private, isolated location accessed via lovely, winding roads through a lush green valley. If you want to be near nature, access to Highlands, waterfalls, hiking, and away from traffic, this is your place.
Surrounded by the woods with a beautiful brook to thoroughly escape the big city and suffocating heat was exactly what I was looking for!! Gig, the host was very communicative, the cabin was a perfect location, near Cashiers, multiple waterfalls and hiking trails, with Internet, a very comfortable bed, and a functional kitchen & washing machine and dryer available. A rare VRBO generous to allow my two small pups, who also enjoyed this gorgeous property! Highly recommend!
The listing name is spot on. It truly is a cozy cabin by a babbling brook. Cabin was clean and very well appointed. I booked it again for the fall and may return before then. I can’t imagine a better place to unwind.
Secluded, quiet, and peaceful… no traffic noise, just the rush of that Brook. We did not unplug completely… WiFi and TV was more than adequate. Comfortable living space for 4. Our week was mostly cloudy if not rainy. So, we spent much of our time in the cottage reading books, playing games, TV and on the web. But the cabin is very comfortable in those conditions. Shops in Cashiers (east) are a 15-20 min drive; 25 min to Highlands (west) depending on traffic (it’s a slow go 3 pm to 5). Ingles grocery store in east Cashiers… they have everything. This was a return visit, our second time. The host, Gig is very responsive and accommodating. We plan to return again next summer.
If your looking for peace and quiet but convenience this cottage is a excellent place to stay
Beds were super comfy, loved sitting on covered porch and listening to the sounds of the stream.amd birds. The cottage was very quaint and convenient to cashiers, sapphire, highlands and surrounding areas. Great place for our dog too. Thank you had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back
Cabin was in a great locale for waterfall chasing. Property manager was great on communication and made everything very clear with all the ins and outs of the property.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay and we were impressed with the cleanliness of the cabin. The setting is peaceful and the small stream below added to this. It is very likely that we will make future visits to this cabin.
My sister and I had a very relaxing and enjoyable time at Gigs place. The cabin is surrounded by beautiful trees and the little creek running through added to the serene atmosphere. We were visited by dear, turkeys, bunnies and even a skunk (we gave him his space…lol) The cabin was clean and well appointed with everything we needed for our 3 week stay. We hope to visit again next year. Gig is a great host! You won’t be disappointed if you choose this spot!

Perfect location
This was the perfect place for my wife and I to spend a quiet (and cool) Memorial Day weekend. Very isolated, we could let our dog out without a leash and not worry. Having the creek so close was so pleasant. Having coffee on the deck each morning was just awesome. We would definitely stay here again.
Only negatives were that the bed was not so comfortable and the furniture was dated.
Great cabin had all we wanted, comfortable bedding. Very clean.. Nice space, creek very nice. Only suggestion is to have checkout at 11. We felt rushed to be out by 10.
We loved our stayed in this cabin!!! The setting is beautiful and so restful. The cabin is so comfortable and was stocked with everything we could possibly have needed for our stay. With our stay immediately following the Arctic storm, I really appreciated that owner reached out to us frequently to make sure we had all that we needed and that everything in the cabin was functioning correctly. Of course, there were no issues with the property but it was nice having that level of communication with the owner. We definitely plan to stay here again!!!!
What a lovely little cabin deep in the woods and well off of any beaten path! It was very clean and comfortable. The beds were soft and comfy, and the outdoor space was amazing.
Our daughter wanted to stay in the hammock in the yard all evening and we had so much fun playing corn hole in the yard. The deck chairs were perfect to sit in and enjoy the sound of the creek down below.
It may not be the mighty Mississippi or even the Cullasaja, but with some rain the creek was flowing nicely.
Gig was very responsive and took care of a live hornets nest above the door within an hour or two of us letting him know about it.
Highly recommend this little spot to anyone wanting to stay in the Cashiers / Highlands area.

Liked: Check-in, listing accuracy
Nothing terible but nothi g memorable with wi fi and other minor issues
The house is located as adverised by a creek, it has what is needed with small kitchen very small table and very large bed. What took some of that experience away was the part that it was under so many trees that it was very dark in and around the house. The creek is much lower than the house with no comfy way to sit real close to it. There were few issues with the house: burned light bulb in the living room made it very dark, smell from being in the shade/wet all the time and the wi fi was very spotty. We couldnt get the tv to connect and with no internet couldnt watch the games we wanted. I like to do some drawing but the table was so small and un stable and no light... so i couldnt do that. Luckily the area is beautiful and we visited many waterfalls and trails. To be fair we didnt contact the owner during the stay to report those issues because i thought the wi fi will be solved the next day and the light we can survive without. So i have no issues with them. I have one more observation: one of the fire extinguishers is empty and the pin is falling off.
We really enjoyed our time in this property. First the owner was great.. easy to contact, very informative and responsive. The cabin was just as described, we really enjoyed the stream out front.. Just sitting on the porch listening to the water babble down the stream bed was great. The cabin is in the middle of nowhere but that was fine with us, internet was reliable and faster than I expected. Although the cabin was remotely located it was central to both Highlands, and Cashiers, it was perfect. We loved the area and with all the recent rain, we were still able to hike to several waterfalls (all within 25-30 mins) in the area, they did not disappoint. A few things kept this from being 5 stars to me.. The king mattress (or maybe mattress box springs combo) was very "creaky" so much so that we moved to the smaller room the last two nights.. It just wasn't restful.. I don't generally judge a mattress on firmness becuase everyone has a different opinon of good, but the creaky noises on every body movement was hard to get past.. Second my wife (and probably other women) like long hot showers especially after a day of hiking etc.. and both times the "long hot" part was cut significantly short. Once again that may not mean much as to others as "long" is a relative term.. but just thought I would mention it. Otherwise the cabin was great, kitchen amenities were great, once again internet was great (this is a big plus since otherwise there was very limited cell service (Verizon) at the cabin.
