About the host
Hosted by Todd Alexander
Originally from California; I have lived in many destination areas. Lake Powell, on a boat with quick driving access to Flagstaff and Sedona for day trips of incredible beauty. I have climbed and hiked most of the area. I ran the Colorado River out of Lees Ferry for years. I also had a wave runner business riding kiddos up and down the river in Laughlin NV. Then went on to run reef trips and teaching breathing / snorkeling in the Florida Keys. Ultimately, I chose the beautiful Blue Ridge (aka Smokie) Mountains in North Carolina and the opportunity to work for Old Edwards Inn & Spa. After over 20 years, and before I knew it, I became director of the #1 spa in North America.
Why they chose this property
I made a commitment to myself at a very early age that when I was in charge of my decisions I would only live in beautiful, tranquil places that others would want to visit if they had the choice. You see I had always kept my promise to live in beautiful places but when I first drove the mountains of North Carolina I knew I was home. Once you experience it, you too will understand.
What makes this property unique
My continued quest for knowledge regarding how to integrate body, mind and spirit into a way of life gave me the inspiration to create what is now Two Willows Horse Farm from the moment I saw it. Although the farm is tucked away in the Nanthahala Forest, which is actually one of only a few temperate rainforests in the USA, the sun shines fully in the center of the farm. Allowing a garden with lots, lots of flowers and beautiful weather for the all to enjoy. This quiet neighborhood reflects my love of community and the need for tranquility and space as most of the properties on this mountain are more than 10 acres.
