This home is an absolute oasis! Our family, including grandparents and children, all enjoyed our stay immensely and truly relaxed. The home has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It has such a warm and inviting feel, and we were so sad to leave! While the TV and internet were a bit spotty, it allowed us to fully disconnect and unplug to enjoy fishing and the outdoors, endless puzzles, and just being together as a family. We can’t wait to come back again!
Our party consisted of grandparents, parents, nephew, and teenage boys. We lived in NNK many years ago so it was great to go back to see how it changed/remained the same. The property was perfect for the teenagers to crab/fish and within an hour of bowling, arcade, go karts, etc. The house was well supplied and beautifully decorated. The outside areas were large and modern (no splinters YES!). The boys caught crabs, flounder, stingray, eels, etc. Of course there can be jellyfish so be sure to bring a float! Biggest downside was the internet/TV - bring Redbox and don't plan to VPN - cellular service was great though. On another note, give some business to Yesterday's Restaurant. Great service, wait times, and food.
Beautiful location, great place and wonderful hosts
We stayed here for 9 days and would definitely go back. The property is located on a small peninsula so you can see water from all windows. It sits at the end of a long driveway and is beautifully quiet and peaceful. The river it is on is great for water sports. We spent our afternoons kayaking and swimming. Some of the rooms in the house have been recently remodeled. The kitchen/dinning room and sun porch that is both screened in and also has glass doors are fantastic. The bedrooms are good sized. The host was amazing and extremely responsive. We explore the area and enjoyed what it has to offer. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful time at this river house! We enjoy kayaking and spending time on the dock. The deck and sunroom were also well loved! This is a great property and a perfect place to spend the weekend!
The photos do not do this home justice. The sunroom has a beautiful 270* view of the water, and was recently redone so it gorgeous. The kitchen also has some views and is brand new. The rest of the home was very clean and spacious. Outdoor space has a decent amount of seating. Unfortunately, the cables and kayaks were lost just before our stay by previous renters so we didn’t get out much on the water but it seems beautiful. You can swim right off the dock as an alternative but I would recommend bringing swim-shoes if you choose to do that (Lots of sharp barnacles), and go in only at high tide. The home is. A great, secluded getaway. But if you want to see the bay or get to the river beach, there are a few areas within a 20 minute drive. Definitely recommend this home.
Great place to go if you want to get away from it all and enjoy a beautiful peaceful setting! Not a luxury hotel but a very comfortable home. The owners respond quickly and the check in and closing is very simple. This is our second stay there and won’t be our last.
Great location! Beautiful waterfront and very peaceful. Decor a little rustic but very clean! Beautiful new deck! Fully stocked kitchen. Owners very helpful and whole rental process very easy. Will definitely rent property again!

Cozy, clean and comfy! We had an awesome time here. Only the Labor Day Weekend but really nice.
This place is like home. Not fancy. Not a "5 Star" luxurious stay with a staff but everything is in reach. Very clean and comfortable.
We will be back. Good fishing too! That helps!

Beautiful views and quiet surroundings
We enjoyed our stay very much! Kids learned to kayak and had lots of fun jumping from the dock into the creek at high tide.
Well-outfitted kitchen makes it easy to cook. Comfy furniture makes it enjoyable to relax.
Owners were very helpful and responsive to our questions. It felt more like staying at a friend’s house than a rental.

About the host
Hosted by Mark BIlowus
We have owned this property for over 15 years and have enjoyed relaxing there with our children. It is an easy, close getaway from the DC area and have enjoyed the activities on this beautiful creek.
Why they chose this property
Beautiful views and easy access to the water - it feels like you're on top of the water when staying here. This house is a great place to disconnect from it all and enjoy the water activities. The Faunce Seafood store of Montross offering fresh caught local flounder and rockfish and jumbo lump crab meat is a short 15 minute drive. In the other direction ,the beautiful Hague Winery with vintage sales and wine tasting is a leisurely10 minute drive and wonderful afternoon escape. Several good restaurants are located in close by Historic Montross and Kinsale.
What makes this property unique
Spectacular sunrise view as well as rich colorful sunsets are to be appreciated from this unique home which sets on a peninsula just 12 feet from the shoreline and dock. You can do fishing and crabbing from the dock and if you like cooking, the fresh Chesapeake Blue Crabs are delicious.
