We had a wonderful stay for Labor Day weekend. So much is provided by the owners, paddle boards, kayak, water mats, everything you need to enjoy the water. The house is beautifully decorated, clean and well stocked. Don't miss the sunrises. Hope to be back.
most peaceful and pleasant one lane neighborhood. Amazing views And quiet. So many activities to do inside and out just all-around great place to stay.
The cottage is lovely and has everything you need for a stay. The decor is charming. We enjoyed fishing off the pier, catching and cooking crabs, and eating them on the screened in patio. Quiet and relaxing get away.
Our stay at the cottage was peaceful and fabulous. My family enjoyed time on the water and fishing. The cottage was well equipped and beautifully decorated.
We had the most relaxing week possible! The house was clean and very well appointed. The view and pier were spectacular The homeowner (Monica) was quick to answer any question that came up. Great place to stay for the warmest sunny day or the rainiest day. There are so many activities. We will definitely return!!!
Our stay at this location was short but very sweet. This property has everything and then some. The owner has beautifully decorated the cottage & it provides many amenities. Could not match the sunsets and sunrise. Only draw back was that the mosquitos were very bad one evening & we had to retreat inside. Would highly recommend this property!!
From the moment we walked in and saw the amazing view of the water we immediately felt relaxed. The flow of the home is perfect, no matter where you are you are all together as a family. If you need your own space there is the room downstairs and the wonderful screened in porch. I loved that everything you need to enjoy yourself is there. Games, yard, fire pit, pier and the water! I highly recommend this beautiful cottage.
Excellent Stay. Was as pictured. Very clean and organized. Hosts were excellent. They were very friendly, helpful, polite, and responsive. The house and property is great for pets too. Also, a very quiet and safe area. The property was beautiful. It stormed the first day and the water was not accessible. It was amazing how different a storm on the Potomac makes the environment. It was cold, extremely windy, and the water was coming over the top of the barriers and dock. The following day we woke up and it was like a paradise. Beautiful, quiet, and warm. Kayaking in the water was fun, but I feel like I needed a lager kayak for this end of the Potomac. I borrowed theirs - thank you! We actually rented the house to go to Westmoreland, but then ended up spending almost all of our time at the house. My favorite space was the sun room overlooking the water. Great place to cuddle with the dogs and read a book or just relax and watch the water. I miss it already.Only two recommendations: 1. The dock was really high off the water. To make it accessible and safe for kids and older people - it need a lower dock or safe place to put in kayaks.2. There needs to be a lamp or more central lights inside to balance the lighting in the main room.I think this property has a lot to offer and would rent again.
This is an amazing property! The house is lovely, beautifully decorated and well appointed. It has all you need for your stay. While we were there, the weather was really bad - very windy and rainy - but we did not mind as there were so many other things to do! We played darts, games, putted golf balls, and did puzzles! We had one day during our stay in which the sun came out and we were able to play corn hole and we went fishing (didn't catch anything - the water was too choppy). This is a great property and we plan to stay here again. If you book this property, make sure to go into Lottsburg and Heathsville and explore the towns. And make sure to eat at Cygnets - GREAT food and the building was the original post office and general store for Lottsburg!
Our 2nd stay at the Ruppert Cottage! Amazing weekend with girlfriends. Monica is so accommodating! Views are spectacular and sunsets are gorgeous! We will be back...thank you again for a wonderful stay!
We had a wonderful time here. The house was clean, cutely decorated, and had everything we needed. There were so many things to do and play with there, so my children never got bored...and I got to enjoy some calm and quiet time while laying in the hammock, reading my book, and listening to the water. Overall, it was the perfect weekend getaway spot.
The house was beautiful and the scene was amazing! Monica is a wonderful host in her house is a perfect little spot for a great family getaway, especially if you’re into fishing and crabbing!
Everything about this beautiful property was wonderful. From check in to check out. It had everything we needed and then some. We will definitely be back!
We had a chance to spend the weekend with our kids (age 18 and 20), and we couldn't have asked for a better location. The view was spectacular and the home was perfect. It was so peaceful and relaxing, yet there was so much to do—fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, ping-pong, darts, board games, the list goes on. Everyone had a fantastic time. The only problem is that were only there for three nights!
I cannot say enough amazing things about Monica’s place on the Potomac!!! We went for a girls getaway, (delayed 50th birthday celebration) there were 4 of us. Monica has thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. We spent most of our time on the deck just enjoying the serenity of it all. Loved all the cute decorations! Plenty of space for everyone! The downstairs area felt like a private party area. The views are amazing from every room in the house. Walking out of your bedroom every morning to the most beautiful sunrise was the highlight! We have decided this is going to be our new tradition…thank you Monica!
The home is beautifully decorated. They have so much to do inside and out. They provided something for everyone. This is our 2nd year here. We plan to come back.
