Our waterfront home is conveniently located in Heathsville, Virginia on the Coan River. A short drive away from restaurants in Reedville to the East, Lively to the South, and Callao and Hague to the West. The direct neighborhood is private, peaceful, and friendly. You can come here to fish, crab, eat oysters, have quality fun with your family and friends, or just get away.

Wonderful refuge

We had a lovely stay at Chris's place. The house is generously equipped with anything one can think of, from the kitchen to the game room to the outdoor activities. We canoed, swam, barbecued, watched the sunset over the river. All in all superb and comfortable. Chris is also super responsive, unasked he extended our check-in and check-out by 6 hours each.

Thank you for such a comfortable stay during our first visit to the Northern Neck. We loved the dock, fire pit, and kayaks, and spent as much time by the river as possible. For outings me were blown away by Hughlett Point (very interesting history how it became a preserve) and enjoyed visiting Kilmarnock. Everyone was so friendly. We also appreciated the dog friendly policies for our senior pup to be able to join us.

Relaxation on the River

Thank you for sharing your home! Our family had a relaxing week together on dock and deck and enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding. We took an afternoon trip to the lovely town of Kilmarnock where we browsed the shops and had the most delicious lobster rolls (Connecticut style) at Small Town Burger on Main Street. One evening we went to Cygnets Restaurant (apx 10-15 minutes) and had an enjoyable, delicious dinner. Wishing you and your family many wonderful memories in your home.

Beautiful home on the water

My family of 6 adults and one dog had a lovely stay at Waterside. The house has amazing views out over the river. We were rather unlucky in that the water was full of jellyfish during our entire stay so we were unable to enjoy kayaking, swimming or floating. That said, we were incredibly grateful to get to enjoy the views from the comfort of the air-conditioning in these circumstances! Chris was very responsive to our requests for info during the trip and was proactive in sending tips about local events. We would highly recommend the Irvington Farmer's market, the 4th of July celebration in Kinsale, and the Historic Rice Hotel and Tavern for those exploring the area. Overall, this was a great place to spend a relaxing vacation week!

My wife and I stayed at Chris and Bobby’s place for a long weekend to get out of the city with our 2 month old + dog. It was exactly what we needed. Cozy, relaxing, quiet and an adventure. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Do you have a kid? The house comes with everything you might need from dishware to sleeping accommodations to toys and more. Seriously so fun. The fenced in yard was also a treat so we could bring our dog. You can tell Chris and Bobby have put their heart into personalizing the space and making it accessible. We went for walks in the neighborhood and explored the area for good hikes and restaurants. The neighbors are friendly and polite. The dock is beautiful and the view is exquisite. Especially for sunrise and sunset! We can’t wait to tell our friends about this place and go back. :)

A relaxing stay

The home was clean and well-kept inside. The owner was friendly and responsive, and we loved the privacy and seclusion. The private dock, board games, game room, and decently stocked kitchen were great touches.That said, there were several issues. The outdoor areas need upkeep, messy yard, dirty deck, and the walk to the dock was on very uneven ground, which made it difficult to navigate safely, especially for anyone with mobility concerns. The dock itself had splintering boards, popped nails, and twisting wood. I had to pull splinters from my dog’s paw.During a storm, the power went out. While flashlights were provided, the candles were mostly burnt out. We found tea lights, but better stocking for outages is needed.The listing says every room has a closet, but the master bedroom’s closet is locked. Understandable, but there should at least be a rack or hooks to hang clothes.Also, personal/family photos made it feel less like a rental. The two large portraits in the living room were a bit much. The smaller ones in the entryway were more out of sight, but ideally, no personal photos should be displayed.With more attention to outdoor maintenance, power outage prep, and guest comfort, this could be a great stay.

Absolutely perfect; city mouse in the country!

From the large space to the amazing views, the home was perfect. We were so privileged to be able stay at Chris and Bobby’s wonderful home. The house was perfect, the views were amazing, the peace was blissful. (even with three teenage boys) We had a beautiful stay. The boys went fishing off the dock, it was quite comical watching these city boys hooking worms. The fire pit was so wonderful sitting and enjoying the lake and the fire. Chris and Bobby sent us info on the little farmers market which I do believe all of Heathsville showed up for. It had lots of goodies. Of course we supported the local crafters. Chris was so on top of everything. Emails and text were very thorough. The house had everything we needed. And even YES! Plenty of hot water after many showers!!! We will be back. Thank you Chris and Bobby for an amazing weekend! We are all so grateful for being able to share your home.

Heaven on the river

The view of the river from the house is spectacular. Besides an incredible view, the property met all the important points when staying out of ones home. It was very clean, the hot water was HOT, no stray bugs, a very well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and tvs from this century in most rooms. The weather sucked so we didn't get to utilize the outdoor space much but we were sure to make it down to the dock to do some fishing. You're really out in the woods so there's tons of nature, like bald eagles and lots of fish. It's a perfect getaway from everyday life. The hosts are very responsive and questions get answered almost immediately.
