An excellent location just above Chamonix - a five minute walk to the town centre. The apartment is clean and well equipped with a very comfortable pull down bed and a new bathroom.
The apartment met all our expectations, especially the location to the ski area, the downtown and the bus stop. The apartment has a secure ski locker. The host communicated with us and made sure we had everything we need including the fondue pot. We would definitely choose this place again for our future trips to Chamonix. Merci!

Apartment is closed to the centre of Chamonix with it's shops and restaurants. It's also only a short walk to 2 different lifts taking you above the valley as well as transport links up & down the valley.The apartment is compact and very well equipped with easy access & convenient secure parking.Pierre is an absolute gentleman, extremely considerate from the beginning and was especially helpful after I suffered a medical incident - no superlatives are enough.
This studio apartment has everything you need for a great stay in Chamonix. The location is prefect for getting to the ski lift or walking to town. The host is very friendly and responsive. We had a wonderful time during our visit!
A really well equipped, clean, comfortable studio apartment. The owner is helpful and communicates quickly to any query. The pull down bed makes life easy and the location is a short walk into Chamonix centre. There's a useful, large ski cupboard on the ground floor.
The host was very cordial. Functional apartment very close to the centre. It is very quiet and has a nice view of Brevent. I liked it as it was functional and catered to my needs.
This is a lovely, well-cared for property in a central location. Communication with Pierre was excellent and he replied straight away to our enquiry about the internet. Comfortable bed, all you need to cook meals and a modern bathroom with a superb walk-in shower. I would definitely stay here again.
Very good apartment close to brevent lift and town centre
Very good reasonably priced apartment. Close (5mins if that) to Brevent gondola, 10 mins walk to nearest supermarket in town. Ideal for a couple, pull down bed was comfortable and kitchen well stocked with utensils. Ski locker is huge and secure. Don’t expect a massive apartment but it was good for 2 people for a week. Paid €20 euros for linen and towels and cleaned it ourselves (not exactly difficult as it’s a studio apartment) to save €50 charge. Communication with owner was good. Would recommend.
Well equipped studio located close to the trails and downtown.
I had a pleasant extended stay at Pierre’s Chamonix studio. The kitchen and apartment is well equipped with everything you need.
Located close to the Brevent lift, it’s a short walk/run to the trails and a 5 minute walk to downtown.
Pierre and Edith were easy to communicate with and made the check-in process is easy.
The only negative thing I can say about the studio is that the fold down bed is not very comfortable and is due for a replacement. I developed a sore back as a result of the bed.
Otherwise, a fantastic unit and great place to explore the Chamonix valley from.

Problem Between VRBO and Abritel
This is a difficult review to write, because the property is good and the host seems like a decent man. I only have 1500 characters here, so I'll try to be succinct and honest.
It seems there is a discrepancy between the VRBO and Abritel listing platforms. Abritel appears to be the European listing platform for hosts, but US guests access rentals via the VRBO platform.
On VRBO nothing in the "House Rules" or "Important Information" states renters are responsible for cleaning before departure. I rent 10-20 short-term rentals a year and they've always included cleaning. As my check out approached, I was told that I should schedule a walk-through with the host's assistant. This seemed unusual, but I contacted her. She wasn't available for the day I proposed and I had to leave for work early on the other day. She said she contacted the owner and I could just leave the key, which I did.
Later, the host sent an angry letter because I'd not cleaned the place. He claims it clearly states that on the Arbitrel site. I've checked all over the listing for this unit on VRBO and there's nothing stating the renter must clean it before check-out (this might explain why the property wasn't very clean when I arrived). He then charged my card for $195, saying it would take 6hrs to clean this 258sq ft/24sq m unit(!)
The host seems decent and the unit is nice. But if you're a US-based VRBO renter, be aware that the rules you see aren't the rules he enforces. I hope he addresses this.

This booking didn't turn out as positively as we'd hoped.
At first, Pierre was helpful and communicated without much delay. We checked in/out easily thanks to a key box.
Most importantly, there are no towels. You have to buy your own from the supermarket. We had 1 roll of toilet paper for the week, had to buy more. The apartment is in a brilliant location. It's in good condition and you get use of a storage room downstairs for skis etc.
The fold down bed isn't comfortable at all. We struggled to get a good nights sleep all week, but that might just be us.
The bathroom and shower facilities are great. Shower had good water pressure and hot water was never a problem. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances too.
So apart from the bed, the apartment is pretty great, considering the price.
After checking out, having left the property in a tidy and relatively clean condition, we received a message from Pierre saying that we had not cleaned the apartment at all and that he was charging us a €60 fee for cleaning of the apartment. Pierre expected us to thoroughly clean the apartment to a professional standard, using the cleaning products. I've never stayed anywhere where that was expected. So know that the apartment might not be properly cleaned when you arrived as Pierre expects the previous guests to do it.
This has left a sour taste and makes it feel like a bit of a scam to increase the cost of rental. We did leave some recyclable materials behind, but €60 euros?

your criticisms are not at all justified by the fact that you have all the information at your disposal on the ABRITEL site apparently that you have not read entirely
In addition, you are on a furnished rental and not on a hotel or a cottage so sheets and towels are not available like toilet paper
you have the welcome elements for your arrival plus the owner's gift
as for the bedding: it has just been replaced at the end of 2022 I am a little surprised because I am very attentive to the remarks of the tenants whom I invite to comment on the subject
