Colony Poolside: A charming bungalow near Duval Street

Located in The Colony, a secluded compound just steps from Duval Street, Colony Poolside is a peaceful retreat. Enter the home through the serene and inviting living space, accented with blue and white decor, wood floors and pops of color from nautical-themed accents and artwork. A vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and huge transom windows that extend all the way to the tip of the roof add a bright and airy feeling to the cozy space.

The fully appointed kitchen is attached to the living area and features a generous sit-down bar and charming open shelving. Through the French doors lies a private deck for sunning, relaxing and al fresco dining.

The bedroom is accented with wainscoting and features cathedral ceilings, a king size bed, and flat screen television.

Back outside the front door is a porch with Adirondack chairs for enjoying a morning Cuban coffee or a twilight glass of wine amongst the palm trees. The huge Colony swimming pool, which is shared with other residents, is located just steps away. Beaches, shopping, and award-winning restaurants are just a short walk or bike ride from your front door.

The perfect place to stay in Key West!

Just blocks from Duvall, the cottage community felt small and cozy. We loved having the pool, as well! Would definitely stay here again!

The property is amazing, quiet, and secluded while also being close to everything you want to do and see while on the island. We travel a lot and this place is among our favorite properties to stay at. You won't be disappointed.

We loved this property. Just right and in the perfect location to walk to just about anywhere in Key West. Close to Duval Street, restaurants, bars, and attractions. It was as advertised, well-kept, bright, and sunny. I would stay again!

Cute little cottage, comfortable and well equipped. The window air conditioners are very loud, but may not bother some. Also, we would have enjoyed the pool more if it was warmer. Other than those issues we enjoyed our stay!

I cried when I left

This is such a wonderful venue. Best home. I even chose to watch Super Bowl in the cottage vs party atmosphere of a bar. This will not be my last time here. Just three blocks from Duval with the ambience of old key west

We had a great time! My only suggestion would be to upgrade the a/c unit in the bedroom. It was difficult to sleep due to the noise.

Nice Stay!

The unit is in a great location for exploring key west. We loved the grounds of the property. The shared pool is wonderful and surrounded by tropical Plants. It was perfect to relax there after a hot day! The unit is located right next to the pool and was a perfect size for two. We loved the nautical decor. Our only complaint is that the unit was a bit dusty/dirty on ledges, light switches and decorative items.

Reviewer Comments: Located in a secure feeling residential neighborhood just a few blocks off the quiet end of Duval, and even closer to a bus stop for the free Duval loop bus - the location just can't be beat. Unfortunately, one has to close all the drapes in order to avoid looking directly into your neighbors eyes, and mattresses in master and on pull out couch have seen better days. BUT, location can't be beat!

It is close to Duval street but not too close to hear the after dark nightlife. We rented bikes to travel around the island and that was a great investment, definitely get bikes! The only compliant was the bed, it was pretty soft and on a metal stand, seemed like a murphy bed. But I would definitely stay here again!

Nice cottage, but bed/bedframe needs updated

This posting is as described and pictured, with some additional useful details provided below. All told, we didn't regret our stay, but we probably wouldn't need to stay there again. Positives: - Relatively quiet location close to nice restaurants - Kitchen is well stocked with things useful for cooking in. - Courtyard / pool area is separated from street by a door with a code. - Feels fairly private given it's proximity to other cottages. - Decor is nice, as was the natural light in the main room. Negatives: - There is a large window with no blinds/curtains in the bedroom. We saw this in a previous review, and thankfully we brought a large piece of brown packing paper to cover it. - No central A/C means that two window A/C units need to run almost constantly. They worked just fine, but were noisy. - Biggest negative: the bed is basically a thin memory foam mattress on a wire bed frame. It felt more like a fold out couch than a real bed, it sank in the middle a bit, and it was possible to feel the metal bars through the mattress.
