Can see sailboats, cruise ships coming and going, and especially St. Croix on a clear day. West side offers beautiful sunset views.

Quiet, and away from hustle and bustle of Charlotte Amalie yet short ride for shopping and dining such as Havensight, Yacht Haven Grande, and in-town. Popular restaurants includes Iggy's Beach Bar, Delly Deck, Greenhouse, Blue 11 and Gladys' Cafe.

2 bedroom house comfortably accommodates 2 couples with sleeper sofa for 1-2 additional guests in living room. Each bedroom has its own private bath. Ceiling fans in every room. The house was at a remote location but the view was immaculate which makes the trek up the hill worth it! Definitely recommend an AWD vehicle for the roads. Kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for cooking and while the AC was only in the main area, we were all very comfortable with the fans in each room.

This VRBO was everything it advertised! Gorgeous views, everything provided you need. The host communicated immediately upon payment, and was easy to contact at all times. The location is on some rough mountainous roads, as advertised. You will not regret renting a vehicle with AWD. Can’t wait to come back!

I love this house so much that I have stayed here for 5-6 weeks every year for six years. The view is gorgeous. The owner keeps the house in great condition. The house is very comfortable. It's perfect for four people, especially since there are the two bedrooms AND two bathrooms. The large deck is perfect for taking in the view and, in particular, for watching sunsets!

We have stayed here a number of times and it's been wonderful every time! The cottage is lovely, nicely furnished and always spotless. Karen is an attentive host and always available if we have any questions. The road up to the house is rough, as are many side roads on St Thomas. I recommend renting a jeep or something similar. Once you arrive and see the view, you forget about the road!

Hawk Hill Cottage

Beautiful location in a charming cottage with a breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea! Yes the road up is a challenge, but an SUV and a bit of tenacity make the trip an Adventure!

A perfect spot in Frenchman's Bay

The property is high on a hill with a beautiful view of the sunset and cruise ships passing by. You need a car, and it is worth the drive to stay here. Karen is a wonderful and attentive host.

This is the perfect base for a visit to St. Thomas. Convenient to Brewers Beach, Magens Bay, and Linquist Beach. The central location is also convenient to Havensight, Charlotte Amalie, Tutu, and Red Hook. ENJOY!

Our second visit

We rented this property with another couple for 5 weeks each in 2019 and 2020. It’s a great rental for those who are comfortable driving on the left side of the road as you will need a car. Wonderful view and beautiful sunsets.

Great Stay!!

2024 is the fifth year I have rented this house. It’s great for four people. The view is amazing. The location between Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook works well for me. I like that it has two bathrooms. The drive up the hill can be challenging but is well worth it. I’m going back next year.

Beautiful views, lovely property

This was the second time that we've stayed here, we love it. The views over the Caribbean towards St Croix, Vieques, and Puerto Rico are great, Karen's home is clean and very comfortable. Some reviewers have noted that you need a car, and that the property is not right on the beach (obviously!). It's true that it's not walkable, but the views and privacy made it worth it and the beaches are a short drive away. Both Karen and her property manager, Joma, are responsive and helpful. We can't wait to go back!

Beautiful view, lovely home

The property was exactly as pictured, with a wonderful deck where we enjoyed watching the sunset every evening. There's a fully equipped kitchen, the bedrooms/bathrooms are arranged so that there's privacy if two couples are traveling together (although my husband and I were on our own!). The gate at the driveway made it feel very secure, although I don't think I would have been concerned if there wasn't a gate--this feels like a safe and also not touristy area. Thanks to Joma Mahoney for being so kind in guiding us to the house and setting us up with a new grill!

Nice view on island

Jomah met us at airport when we arrived. He took us to the house and told us keys/gate etc etc. very helpful. The house does not have an ac but the ceiling fans work just fine. We actually would get cold at times. The house is fully furnished just as listed. I was able to cook breakfast and my husband did make some chicken on the grill. The house has a wonderful view. It was nice to get up each morning and see the ocen from the balcony. Only issue we would have to say was the pressure of water coming out for shower. Which isnt a big issue. Im sure it has to do with water issue on the island. We loved the house and if we ever go back we would stay here again.

Thank you for the review. Glad you enjoyed your time despite couple of concerns. I apologize for any inconveniences. As per description of amenities, there is split A/C unit in LR and has to be operated manually. Remote function was damaged due to climate conditions and little creatures getting inside unit Universal remote not compatible. I appreciated this being brought to my attention meaning that I need to be sure all my guests are aware of how to access the A/C. However as you stated and so has past guests, the ceiling fans helps maintain comfort levels especially if one keeps the house open via screen doors and windows to allow trade winds in. With the exception of businesses, hotels and a few condos, central and split A/C are not that common in private residences. I agreed that water pressure is not as great stateside. Issue has been addressed and unfortunately not within my control. As described per rental agreement, water is collected and stored in cisterns like majority of residences. which means the water pressure will not be to what we are accustomed. Despite all, I am glad you would consider returning and again, I thank you for bringing these concerns to my attention.

Great Place to Stay

This is a really, really lovely place to stay. We came to St. Thomas to visit my son who lives on the island. When he came for dinner, he remarked how he thought I did a great job picking the spot. Amazing view of the harbor from the balcony, which was one of the only dealbreakers when I was looking - there had to be an awesome balcony. The ocean breeze and the ceiling fans kept things very pleasant, even when it got hot in the afternoons. I wish I had read one of the previous reviews more carefully, because driving on the left on these roads is interesting, and I wish I had used the taxis more than I did. I have Sprint and I had a hard time getting a signal, but the wifi kept that from being an issue. ATT seems to be fine here. Karen (owner) and Joma (property manager) were both very responsive, pleasant, and accommodating. Next time I come down, I hope to stay here again. I will just make better use of the taxis.

Hopefully the First of Many Trips

Stayed for five nights, and my boyfriend and I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was. Karen kept in contact leading up to our arrival to make sure that we had the means and support for an easy entry. Along the way, she was quick to reach out for check-ins and assistance with the property. It was our first time to the island, so the only issue of inexperience was driving layout and steep roads. We quickly acclimated (largely in thanks to Karen's provided geolocation of the residence), and relished in the private, gorgeous location of the secluded home. While we flicked on the very efficient A/C unit on our initial footsteps into the property, we just as soon turned it off to enjoy the French doors that opened up to the sprawling balcony. Both doors also had retractable awnings that made the outdoor area accessible and comfortable for every hour of the day. Even better, both French doors had pop-out screens! Nice bed, lovely bathrooms, full entertainment by way of cable/DVD player/WIFI, in-unit washer/dryer AND an outfitted kitchen - which felt thoughtfully built into the space. All in all, this property has set an impossibly high bar for my travel stays down the line. So happy with my time, and have to extend so many thank you's to Karen (and Joma!) for providing the best of the best. I suggest that if you are reading this far, you go ahead and book now!

Stunning Views with Considerations

My stay at Karen's property in St. Thomas offered a mix of breathtaking island views and notable challenges that future guests should consider. First, the positives: the views from the property are truly spectacular, capturing a panoramic vista that is hard to top. Karen is also a very responsive host, quick to answer any queries and assist where she can. However, there are some important drawbacks to note. Access to the property is via a steep, narrow road that is in poor condition. An all-wheel-drive vehicle is a necessity, not a luxury here, so be prepared for a tricky drive. Another significant issue was the lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms. The fans provided did little to alleviate the heat, making for uncomfortable, often interrupted sleep due to the warmth. If you are sensitive to heat, especially at night, this is a critical point to consider. Additionally, we encountered a problem with the kitchen door leading to the outside; it was defective and difficult to secure. The presence of mosquitoes was also noteworthy, especially when trying to enjoy the beautiful views from the terrace; they were almost enough to ruin the experience. While the stunning views and responsive hosting are definite pluses, the challenges we faced could impact the overall comfort of your stay. This is a wonderful spot if you’re prepared for a bit of adventure and don’t mind the heat, but those looking for a more serene island retreat might find these issues significant.

Thank you for your honest review and welcome to St. Thomas. I am sorry that your stay did not meet your standards. Unfortunately mosquitoes are an inherent part of tropical climates and bad roads as well. Private roads especially are not under residents' control let alone managed by government. Full disclosure regarding the air conditioner was provided in the rental/house rules agreement. Regretfully the back door is tricky but simply needs to be pushed or pulled depending which side of the door you're facing and then it will latch and lock. The deadbolt was the best way to secure that door. Based on your input, I will provide additional alternatives for mosquito control. Also, I agree, that further disclosure about heat sensitivity is warranted and even consider portable A/Cs. Air conditioners in most private homes are not common due to really exorbitant power bills and would require higher nightly rates.

A month in St. Thomas

If you are looking to walk to the beach, this property isn't for you. For anything else, it's great. The house sits well up a hill, so the views are spectacular. Watch the sunsets and the cruise ships come and go. It's about a 10 minute drive into town and 20-30 minutes gets you anywhere on the island. We had a couple problems, but quick responses from Karen and property manager, Joma, made them small problems. Would definitely recommend this property.

St. Thomas Delight!!

My family and I were blessed to stay at this beautiful home over the holidays! The owner and property manager were incredibly friendly and helpful! The directions they provided for the stay were outstanding! The property is absolutely amazing! The view was out of this world and the home is spacious and super comfortable with all of the amenities you could ask for! Without hesitation, we highly recommend staying here!

The Hideaway

The property is nestled on a hill and is peaceful and very relaxing. The AC was an issue but we were rarely at home so only ran it to cool off the house for an hour or so upon our return. Screen were missing from bedroom doors to balcony, but overall an excellent stay. Would definitely book again. Very convenient to town and venues on the island. Awesome response time from manager and owner.
