The Hummingbird House was fantastic! We were in town for a baseball tournament in Petersburg and this was the perfect place for 2 families of 4! The kids loved the big back yard, cornhole, fishing in the pond and hot tub while the parents enjoyed sitting around the fire. The outdoor space is amazing! There was also a delicious loaf of pepperoni roll on our arrival. The owner Tanya stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed.
We had an awesome time visiting this West Virginia property. It was a beautiful and clean property with gorgeous views. And an easy drive to many of the small towns in the area!
This house was absolutely amazing. Extremely clean indoors and out. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in the area. You will be glad you did.
The stay was excellent, the house was very clean with all the things that you would need. The views were fantastic and sitting around the fire at night made the day even better. If you want to get away and enjoy the view and relax, then this is the place for you.
The hosts were fantastic, I have stayed in a number of places, but the host Tonya goes out of her way to make you stay the best. Thank you for a wonderful time.
Had a wonderful time at the hummingbird house. Our group needed a place to stay for our ski trip and was thoroughly pleased with all the amenities and enough rooms to accommodate our group. Will definitely be going back.
It was a nice secluded getaway. Had toys for my son to play with. The owners were extremely nice and helpful. The house was immaculate and very clean. We had a great time.
Property was IMMACULATE! Everything was top notch from the towels to the linens to the kitchen being well stocked! Owners were lovely and gave tips to get where we were going and local waterfalls as well as a fantastic well stocked bass pond. This place is amazing!!
This is our second stay at the Hummingbird House and it was, again, the perfect getaway for our family. Quiet, scenic location, clean and comfortable home, great amenities, and excellent hosts. 5 stars.
Our second time back. We were hoping for a bit warmer weather but that didn’t keep us from having a great time. The home is fitting for both our families. Enough space to spread out and still spend plenty of time together. Love all the outdoor areas to explore, even on the property. It will be hard to find another home like this on our next excursion
The Hummingbird was definitely one of the best houses we stayed in. Everything you need and more is supplied , super clean , very comfortable - spacious .. the views and peacefulness of the farm can’t be beaten !
Thank you T & T for just a magical fun stay . Hope to return in the Fall !
First off, the owner was fantastic. She was so helpful and caring. The house was awesome and at a great Location. The house has everything you need from towels and to bed linen. We would do this again. 5 Stars
The house was exactly as the pictures depicted!! Trent and Tonya went over and beyond in making our trip oh so memorable. We celebrated a dear friend's 50th birthday and the beauty of the property allowed us some well deserved down time !! Many thanks Tonya and Trent!
The Hummingbird House was beautifully decorated and absolutely immaculate! It was definitely the cleanest rental I have ever stayed in. The Christmas tree was a lovely touch. Trent was very responsive and checked in on us to make sure that we had everything we needed. We went cross country skiing, to Timblerline Ski Resort and hiking. Much needed peaceful and fun getaway. We hope to go back again!
you go to allot of places ,you read reviews people talk about how great it is. then you get there and say really! well hear the reviews are true. it was very refreshing; Trent and Tonja truly are great hosts. we had a great time hope to go back, just wish the snow would have come sooner. thanks again Michelle j
One of the cleanest VRBOs we have stayed in. We enjoyed finding this rural setting without a long drive from DC. Trent was very helpful, providing area knowledge. The fire pit was set up when we arrived. We discovered we didn't have marshmallows... when we asked where we could find some Trent brought some over. Hiking and mountain biking are nearby as well as some small towns to explore. We also enjoyed Seneca Caverns during our stay.
Remarkable rental in unbeatable WV natural location
We would like to endorse every positive previous review referring to the exceptional cleanliness and comfort of this vacation home and the kind attention of the friendly proprietors, Trent and Tonya! As many have stated, the home's interior and exterior are well equipped and comfortable, and the landscape of the 1,300-acre farm (lots of birdlife) is gorgeous and walkable.
Just as important is this rental's proximity to absolutely unbeatable WV beauty. Within a short distance, you will find excellent and scenic fishing locales, including Greenland Gap and a stocked pond right on the property. The country roads for many miles around are as pretty as we have ever seen in WV. If you want to venture farther, Rt 48 is a short distance away to get you where you need to go, with fine destinations like Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge for hiking, birding and fishing, and The Trough near Romney for kayaking and eagle-sighting.
The Hummingbird House is not just a rental house - it’s a resort! Surrounded by nature and perfectly appointed. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered. Immaculately clean, modern, and with every amenity. Trent and Tonja - wow ! How perfect! In our two day stay our families took in much of what the “resort” has to offer: The shaded sitting area surrounded by hanging flowers and ferns provides a peaceful setting to observe the hummingbirds (who are great entertainers). The back deck offers a panoramic view of fields and forest, and an excellent vantage point to watch deer crossing in the morning and evening. The rear patio with fire pit and surround seating is perfect for s’mores and late night conversations. Try the hot tub under a full moon! It’s a short walk to the stocked bass pond where you WILL catch one or two (or ten)! With everything the “Hummingbird Resort” has to offer you would be forgiven if you forget all the attractions available in the surrounding area. But if you do go out to explore, one thing’s for certain, you will look forward to coming “home”! Trent and Tonja: Thank you for sharing this treasure with us!
The Hummingbird House was so welcoming, clean, and charming! The hosts have obviously given careful thought to every detail. Our stay was amazing and we look forward to returning soon.
Very clean and loved farm house that is perfect for enjoying by itself and/or exploring the surrounding Potomac Highlands. Fun bass fishing for kids and nature / wildlife abound. Thanks!
Well maintained and spacious house. Great hot tub and fire pit. Great place to reconnect with family! Owners were gracious and friendly. Definitely recommend this place. Book it, you won’t be disappointed.
