I read that the name Marrakech originates from Berber words that mean “Land of God”. Add in the fact that the house is located in beautiful Canaan Valley in “Almost Heaven West Virginia” and you have a darn good idea of what you are looking at here. Lovely Marrakech is lakeside on Timberline’s Sand Run Lake where nature is naturally abundant! The considerate homeowners have thought of everything to make your vacation a special experience by providing a canoe for use on the lake as well as a hot tub and horseshoe pits for even more outdoor fun. Step inside and prepare to be comfortable. In just a day you can enjoy an incredible view while relaxing by the fireplace. Shoot pool and play foosball in the downstairs game room. There is still time for a movie or to prepare your favorite meal in the nicely appointed kitchen. Marrakech where there is so much to do or do nothing at all. It is sure to be everyone’s favorite vacation! Four and all-wheel drive vehicles required for winter access.

Property was perfect for our family and our Thanksgiving. Plenty of space for people to be by themselves and great areas to come together. The stove was tricky to use and took a bit to heat up but otherwise it was a great place and would recommend.

Great Stay!

The house was as described, and the location is fantastic! It probably has the most equipped kitchen of any online rental I've stayed in. Layout was also perfect for our family to hang out and enjoy the views. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area for vacation.

Large well stocked kitchen perfect for large family. Already looking forward to next year.

Anniversary reunion

We visited with our family to celebrate our 40th anniversary. It was off season in April but we found plenty to do with hiking and art exploring. Saw an eagle, skunk and plenty of deer. The accommodations were outstanding - the best outfitted kitchen at any vacation rental we've visited. The rooms were very nice and we took advantage of the hot tub and swing.

Here are just a few reasons we'll be back 1) The location is stunning, views of the lake and foothills. 2) easy access to the lake, canoes and the miles on manicured paths around 2 lakes 3) nice hot tub and game room 4) a beautiful "well equipped" kitchen and 5) plenty of technology / football screens (haha). We can't wait to return!!
