Niulani Lanikai, a Kapa’a beachfront vacation rental with the flexibility to entertain up to 10 guests in three distinct on-site properties. The custom oceanfront home is built in true Hawaiian style.

Niulani Lanikai offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and is located in the popular Kauai town of Kapa’a. You’ll find yourself just steps away from the Kauai Village Shopping Center, pristine beaches, cool and funky boutiques, the incredible restaurants of Kapa’a and many of Kauai’s most popular attractions.

At this central location, you’re just a five-minute drive from Lydgate State Beach Park, Fern Grotto, Kamalani Playground and Wailua Golf Course. For those who enjoy an active experience, rent a kayak and paddle up the Wailua River to see not just the breathtaking scenery, but one of Kauai’s famous hidden waterfalls!

If you’d like to stick closer to home, simply walk outside your door and take a stroll on the walk/bike path, as you listen to the waves crash and marvel at the clear aquamarine water.

The main home of this unique Kapa’a property boasts two bedrooms, an open loft and 2 full baths. In traditional Balinese style, you’ll find lofted post-and-beam style ceilings, creating plenty of air flow throughout the great room. This area is richly decorated in island decor and offers living room, oceanfront dining and a spacious and fully equipped kitchen.

Walk out on the deck to enjoy a meal al fresco at the dining table, prepared with a custom BBQ grill.

The master bedroom is equipped with a king size bed on the oceanfront side with sliding glass doors that leads out to the ocean side lanai and private marble lined bath/shower. The 2nd bedroom has a queen-size bed. A loft bedroom over the living area offers a full-size bed.

The Surf Shack is a charming detached cottage with one bedroom (Queen bed), one bath home with a cozy living area with flat screen TV, refrigerator, sink & dishwasher. It also boasts a front porch and small lanai off the main bedroom.

The Mermaid Lounge is a separate living area, above the garage, it's 1-bedroom (Queen bed), 1-bath property with vaulted ceilings with the comfortably furnished living area, flat screen TV and a countertop refrigerator. Ocean views from the front lanai.

This property is perfect for any size party, from a romantic getaway for two to a family vacation.

Amazing View

Loved this place. It met our needs 100%. The ocean was steps away and we even had a baby seal monk take a nap on our beach just a few feet from us. No problems checking in or out.

Best family vacation ever

Had such an amazing stay with our gaily in Kauai!! Had been planning this for quite a while and loved every minute- best part is being right on the beach and hearing the waves. The house had plenty of room for all of us to have our own space - there were a total of 7 of us and never felt cramped at all- highly recommend Kauai to anyone who hasn’t been! Staying on the beach while on beach vacation is also the way to go- this house was amazing

A group of nine of us stayed here to celebrate our 65th birthdays! The highlight of our trip was staying in this great location and wonderful house. We spent most our time enjoying the ocean which was just steps away. I was the one who found this house online and everyone was saying what a great find it was and thanking me. The host was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. This place was awesome! Thank you!

Unique location with great view

Easy access to all the good spots on Kauai, even though traffic in Kapaa can be horrible. Good selection of restaurants and shopping in walking distance.

Fantastic Home

The moment we stepped into the house it was everything we had hoped for and more…the location, the size of the house was perfect. The fans and ceiling fans were needed and appreciated as they were vital to enjoying our stay. Four generations of our family came together, and the house offered many additional items which came in handy to enhancing our visit. We all enjoyed ourselves, and would love to stay at this property again!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our beachfront stay. The property is well located with level walk to shops and eateries. Well equipped. Great collection of sand and beach equipment incl beach towels. Plenty of ‘space’ for everyone.

Fantastic Family Beach Vacation Rental

This truly awesome beachfront property has a stunning main house and two very nice, fully autonomous cottages that can accommodate 9-10 people. The setting allows for large gatherings and yet provides privacy for smaller groups. It also comes with all things you need for days at the beach: beach chairs, towels, cooler, snorkeling gear, etc. The property manager, Heidi, couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating to our needs. We highly recommend this vacation spot to any family - or families - looking for a beachfront retreat in Kauai. Truly, the only downside is the exorbitant fee charged by VRBO for merely providing a platform on which to access such properties!

We had 3 people in the main house, one in the upstairs apartment and 2 more in the detached Ohana. I highly recommend this location; I will be back for sure.

Gorgeous Getaway

We had a family group of 8 ranging in age from 7 to 82 and the house was perfect for us. Everyone had their own space to retreat to and the living/dining/kitchen space was a wonderful space to congregate. Being right on the ocean, there was always a nice ocean breeze coming through the screen doors and windows. Lying on the master bed you not only were bathed in breezes but had a view of the ocean and gorgeous sunrises all while listening to the white noise of waves lapping the shore. Shopping, dining and beaches are all within walkable distances and Waimea Canyon and Hanalei are only an 45-60 minute drive away. We are a family of cooks and we appreciated the well equipped kitchen. The kids loved all the beach toys/equipment and the adults the beach chairs, umbrella and snorkel gear. The only complaints from the adults in the group was that the mattresses were too hard and uncomfortable but except for that it was a marvelous spot that we would rent again.

The beach is rocky, but nice. The house is outdated and worn. No AC, most windows don’t work well. However the house has everything that you would need as far as kitchen supplies, beach chairs, towels, linens, etc.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We recently had the pleasure of staying at Niulani Lanikai with our family of 5. The house is very spacious and sits directly on the ocean. With 3 college age children there was plenty of room for us to spread out, yet the main living / kitchen area was a lovely gathering space for us at night. The outdoor space is gorgeous, we utilized the deck for our Thanksgiving dinner. We had coffee in the morning for sunrise which was amazing. The house was well appointed with everything we needed including beach gear, which was a nice surprise. For our family the location was perfect as we had tours on both the northern and southern parts of the island throughout the week. It was less than an hour drive from everything we did. We also took advantage of paved trail along the ocean that is directly behind the house. It was beautiful for running / walking. Hedi our property manager was lovely, she was very easy to contact and responded to us immediately. I would highly recommend this property, and hope we get the chance to return!

Loved the house and location

The house and location were great for my family vacation, which consisted of 4 adult couples. Before we got there a couple of trees blew down. One tree took down part of the lanai which made the lanai for the most part unusable. We were planning on eating outside and enjoying the weather and the view, the small table with 4 chairs were the only thing that could be used . We also planned on doing yoga in the morning. If we moved things around and really squished 2 of us could do it. The tree that you can see in the window now almost completely blocks the view of the ocean from the interior table. So, if these things are something that you are looking for, inquire if they have been fixed. There was no compensation for these inconveniences, since it was caused by Mother Nature- although it did detract from the use of the property.

Beautiful home

There is no doubt that this home is beautiful. Our problem is this home is hot. All the windows in the front are small that open out. Side and back huge windows, but again no ventilation. Only main source of air flow is back slider that’s off the side of the dinning room. We just assumed that with the beach right there that it would be cooler. Other main issue is all the table tops (side, coffee, dinning) are glass. My 4 year old granddaughter easily broke the coffee table top in the bungalow easily with her mermaid Barbies. The glass was not tempered. Large shards. Yes , we broke it, yes we were charged $250 to replace. But why would you allow non tempered glass in a rental. She sliced her finger. Luckily it was only that.

Great Location

This property is great, and you'll do well to choose this property as the location for your Kauai family vacation. If you're booking in the near future, be sure to ask whether the back porch has been repaired. A tree fell on the deck on Christmas Eve, and for reasons unknown, we were told that insurance wouldn't allow any clean-up until after the adjuster came by the house. As the tree was hung up on the roof and created further danger (ie greater liability for the insurance company), I found this very hard to believe. Further still, the adjuster came by for 5 minutes early in our stay, and nothing was done about the tree for the duration (I'm guessing the current tenants are still dealing with it). While this issue didn't effect the inside, it did limit our use of the back porch and the yard, and quite honestly, you're paying a lot for the sunrise/ocean view -- You should be able to enjoy it without navigating a fallen tree. We should have been told about in advance, and further, our point-of-contact just casually noted it (no apology) when we called as if it was not a problem.

Our stay at Niulani Lanikai - Kauai Beach House was nothing short of exceptional! The multifamiyvacation home in Kapaa surpassed our expectations, offering a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. From the moment we stepped in, the breathtaking ocean views captured our attention. The fully equipped kitchen, complete with a dishwasher and oven, made meal preparation a breeze. The attention to detail, from the stylish decor to the cozy bedrooms, truly enhanced our overall experience. The proximity to attractions like Lydgate State Park and Wailua Falls added an extra layer of convenience, making exploration effortless. The free WiFi ensured we stayed connected, and the thoughtful amenities, including a washing machine and hair dryer, reflected the property's commitment to guest satisfaction. Adult children appreciated having the privacy of bungalow as well as the apartment above garage. Plenty of towells were availble and large fridge to store family meaks in (fridge could def use uodating, light was out and quite old, but dud fine. Also Very handy to have laundry room accessible to all parts of house. Problem with spin cycle of washing machine. But notified owners Hope they fix Each day we were there, someone was there maintaining house. Yardwork very early in morning on first day we were there. Woke us all up. Someone fixing the sand bunkers the next day, as well as other maintenance activities day after. Regardless.. this is the place to stay at in kapa’a. Beat location.

Beautiful home with magnificent views

The house was well appointed for six of us with plenty of fluffy towels and a working kitchen. We ate most of our meals in the house and they were lovely. The beach accessories in the laundry room were a nice find and saved us some time and money. The bike/pedestrian path in front of house that extended 2-3 miles in each direction was wonderful. As was ability to walk to town and other shopping/eating. The broker was very responsive to inquiries and problems. A few gripes. Description should disclose that only the master bedroom has an ocean view. The cottage and upstairs unit are not as well maintained and had some relatively small issues (e.g., a squeaky bedroom ceiling fan and a central living light that couldn't be used because the pull cord was broken). The kitchen would have benefited from a few more items (napkins, storage bags, fresh salt and pepper). The number and amount of the various fees and taxes makes the VRBO nightly rate misleading -- raise the listed rate to include some of the fees. GPS directions from airport led to wrong end of street; warn people that GPS may give wrong turnoff from the highway. Traffic on the highway is very busy (and we were there on off season).
