Family Beach Trip

The house was wonderful for our family, but kitchen supplies need some updating. Also didn’t list healthcare and military discount available if you took advantage before you booked. Need to list this upfront

End-of-summer beach week with the family

Loved Oak Island's slow, hometown vibe. We really enjoyed this cottage's wide open layout, central living area, and the recent renovations brought a resort feel to our vacation. Nice to have everything on one level, and the ground floor featured lots of parking, an outdoor shower, and a well-stocked storage area full of everything you need for a day of beach sitting. Well-stocked kitchen, big fridge, and a full-sized laundry room were big bonuses. Only drawback is being right next to a main public beach access, but it's not a huge deal. We liked seeing the turtle watch teams coming and going! There was even a nest hatching while we were there. The beach is super wide, sugar white sand, and very clean and well maintained. Plenty of grocery stores nearby (it was fun discovering Lowes Foods!), and all kinds of mom and pop kinds of cafes and restaurants. We'll be back to Oak Island for sure.

Oak Island in May

We had perfect weather and love the location of the house. Disappointed with the cleanliness of the house as the rental agency does not allow for early arrivals since they were spending extra time deep cleaning (because of Covid). This "deep clean" was not evident. There was coffee in the coffee pot, hair in the drawers in the bathrooms and overall, house was fine, but certainly not clean.

Spectacular home

Property is exceptional. Plenty of room for eight adults (10 people if 2 are kids) to be comfortable and not in each other's way. Third bathroom definitely makes the difference here. Furnishings are comfy and stylish. Deck and beach views are outta this world. Already booked this house for vacation next year!
