Decoration is about forests and mountains, dedicated to the first owner and builder of the house who was, until the 1930s, the forester of the Forest of La Vancelle.

Downstairs, in the garden, a gazebo with a small terrace awaits the guests of the gîte. Table and garden chairs make it a specially pleasant place to have tea or dinner outside during the beautiful days, from Spring to Fall.

An attractive apartment with everything you could wish for

In the mountains of Alsace lies this great apartment with everything on it. Everything has been thought of. Incredibly hospitable host and hostess. Good tips to explore the area and even in the village a good family restaurant with local dishes. Highly recommended.

Nice place in a cosy town

My travel plan was to both Colmar and Strasboug, this place is somewhere in between, the host is very nice to talk to and helpful. The flat is very nice, clean and cosy, because I drive an EV, there's a charging point next to the flat, you can use charge-point card to top up your range.

Beautiful and peaceful

What a charming location to spend our time. We couldn't have been happier. The apartment is even more beautiful than the photos. The location in a quiet village is serene and relaxing with beautiful views from every window. We loved the gazebo in the garden and spent lots of time there too. True there are no shops in La Vancelle, but two very good restaurants, one with a Michelin star. There are shops just a short drive away in another village. The location is a short drive to the wine route and we enjoyed visiting the nearby town of Selestat. We were most impressed by the organization and thoughtfulness of the owners. They seem to have thought of everything. Their attention to detail is amazing. They were not in residence during our stay but called to make sure everything was in order. All the information we needed was in a folder in the living room, so we had no additional questions. The large bathtub was wonderful to relax away the days hiking and there was plenty of hot water too. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will definitely return.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are always very pleased to learn that our guests spend a nice holiday at our place. We did our best to design the apartment with natural and organic materials. It is well located so that it is possible to reach easily any place to visit in Alsace but also in nearby Germany. The village has a kind of micro-climate: quite sunny in winter when other lower places are in the fog and cooler in the summer when the lower hills and plain are suffering from the heat. We are definitely proud of our Montain Hiker apartment.

Beautiful location and apartment

This is a lovely apartment above the home of the owners, Jean-Paul and Martine. It is about 900 sq. ft, quite large! For someone who wants a little escape to the mountains it is absolutely perfect and in the morning the sun rises just out your window and you can see the castle on the hill. Beautiful!

Idéal pour se ressourcer

C'est dans une belle maison bleue accrochée à la colline (comme dit la chanson) que nous avons découvert cet appartement de toute beauté. Les matériaux choisis pour la décoration donne l'ambiance d'un chalet à Megève. Tout est fait avec goût et soin. L'appartement est grand, propre et très fonctionnel. Les lits sont confortables et le système des alcôves dans la pièce principale, bien pensé. C'est un havre de paix qui nous ferait presque oublier que nous sommes venus pour prendre l'air, marcher et visiter les environs. On s'y sent comme chez soi. La maison est entourée de beaux jardins et de forêts. Les amoureux de la nature sont comblés en venant ici. Idéal pour se ressourcer. Je vous le recommande.

The Mountain Hiker apartment is part of a beautiful building of 1929. It was completely refurbished with organic materials, beautifully furnished and decorated. You will enjoy a fantastic mountain panorama and a garden where to sit and even have a meal outside.

What makes this property unique

La Vancelle is a small Alsatian mountain village, nestled on the southern slope of a mountain arch that rises to about 855 meters.
Only a wise eye can see the village from the valley. Hidden in a beautiful forest, it is a haven of peace and nature. And yet it is easily accessible and ideally located, away from the crowds but just minutes from the wine route, the wine villages and the major tourist attractions.
2 good restaurants just within short walking distance. Shops 2,5 kilometers.
