Luxury stay

This was definitely a luxury stay. We have a family of 7 and we fit really comfortably. We also happened to be in Hawaii during major flooding and were unable to go anywhere much. We were so glad we were at a nice place so we could enjoy our time together without being too on top of each other. We used all the amenities from the gym to the pools and hot tubs over and over. Our kids did not want to leave.

Perfect place to stay!

We loved everything about our stay at Honua Kai! The condo was beautiful and well stocked. The staff was so friendly. The pools are awesome, there are a ton of hot tubs, and we were steps away from the beach.

If you're traveling with children under 10, I would highly recommend this hotel and unit. The room is spacious, and the hotel has three pools for kids and beachfront access. The kids package with beach toys, boogie boards, and beach chairs are perfect for your beach outings.

We stayed here with 3 adults and 3 kids and had a wonderful stay. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the kitchen was easy to cook in, the views were spectacular, the pools were fun, and the beach was perfect. My favorite thing was the coral reef that runs the length of the beach. There were tons of fish and it was an easy swim for me and two kids ages 8 & 12. Not too much current or waves. Very clear water.

The property is everything that is described!! One on my best vacations to date!! From the bell hop to valet, the pools, hot tubs, Duke’s restaurant, and the beach!! It was amazingly beautiful, clean, friendly, and awesome for families or friends doing a group trip. Our condo had everything you would need!! It was clean and fully functional for 6 people without feeling over crowded!! The beach was literally in our backyard!! All your beach needs were supplied in the condo from coolers to chairs and umbrellas!! We will be back!!

Had a great family vacation at Hona Kai and this unit was great. Lot's of space for 3 couples, terrific location and view, and great communication with property mananger. Only reason for a 4 star was the unit seemed to be under repair with cabinets missing above the refrigerator and limited cooking supplies and cookware. Overall, would recommend the unit and likely stay again.

Great property

Comfortable, peaceful easy. The check in process was a bit of a mess. No one there to meet us at the hotel/condo. Waited 30 minutes for them to arrive. No bellhop services or bellhop carts to help with luggage. Parking garage was full, had to park on the street a few blocks away. The property is gorgeous. Big pools. Easy beach access. Duke’s on premises. Nice place.

We apologize for any inconvenience upon arrival - during this peak spring break arrival date the bellman and valet were working as hard as they could to keep up with the hundreds of guests who all arrived within the same two hour window. Great news is the bellman and valet staff are back to their normal levels are ready at a moment's notice for your arrival next year!

What an amazing place

This place was so spacious and updated and it did not disappoint. I booked this place for those 2 things specifically and was very pleased. It’s impressive as soon as you walk in. We had my family with 2 kids and my sister and her husband and daughter. They gave us the option after booking to change one of the rooms from a King bed to 2 twins which worked out perfectly for us. It was super clean, the master was gorgeous. The patio was amazing. Really comfortable beds, plenty of extra everything and there wasn’t one thing we needed that they did not have inside stocked. A cooler, 2 umbrellas, boogie boards and 4 backpack beach chairs. I would just love to come back.

Wonderful trip overall

We had a great stay in this unit, overall. When we were repeatedly locked out because of a wristband issue, KBM helped out by sending a gift certificate to the restaurant on the property. While it was a huge pain to be locked out several times, I think it was a resort issue with their wristband programming. Once it was resolved we had no other issues. This unit was very nice. It was clean, had beach chairs, boogie boards, a cooler and sand toys. The bathrooms were spacious and super modern. The AC worked wonderfully, and the lanai was an awesome feature as well to feel the tropical breeze. I would say there are areas that have some wear and tear like the curtains, some walls, the sofa, the freezer door is stiff and the dishwasher needs secured better. But these things were minimal in the grand scheme of the trip. Just with such a high nightly rate we would want a few updates on the items I mentioned. The resort itself is nice with an awesome beach area. That was absolutely the highlight of our trip as we aren’t really pool people and the pool was so crowded. Maui is such a wonderful place and we were grateful to have this place to land every day after beach time or adventures.

Long awaited family getaway

This is a beautiful property. We have stayed at this resort before. Plenty of space for our family of 8. There were a few things that were disappointing considering the cost; 3rd bedroom (without attached bath) had a very uncomfortable bed. One side hard, the other very old and sloping (it is 2 twins put together), and that bedroom wasn’t properly cleaned prior to our visit. We found old face mask and trash. The lamp in that room had a shade that was peeling and coming apart. The dishwasher was not installed properly. The door hinge on in was broken and until we figured out what was going on, it would come crashing down on our feet if nearby. We were happy to find baby toys and a booster seat for my 1 yo grandson. However, the booster seat’s safety straps and tray were broken. Our first day going to the beach we discovered that both umbrellas and 1 of the 4 beach chairs were broken. I contacted property management and they very quickly replaced all items with new ones. Very nice! Overall a great time. We have stayed in this resort 4 other times and were just a little disappointed in the cleanliness and quality of this condo.

Another Great Stay At Honua Kai

This was our third visit to the Honua Kai and it didn't disappoint. Love the location as two of our favorite Maui activities (Kapalua Ziplines and Maui Offroad Adventures) are located just minutes up the street. The condition and cleanliness of the condo units here can vary a bit depending on the owner/host management company. This particular unit was in excellent shape. It was well cleaned and maintained throughout. We would have no reservation about booking a unit managed by KBM Resorts again in the future. Easy check in and check out with just the right amount of communication. Hope to make a return trip soon.
