Enjoyed our stay especially the hot tub and fire pit. We also enjoyed the full kitchen and cooked meals there. Lots of nearby activities as well as the lake views. Only improvement might be whole house AC and anti slip mat in bathtub.

Thank you so much for staying with us! We're thrilled you enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, and kitchen—our guests love cooking their own meals here. The lake views and nearby activities really do make this a special spot. We truly appreciate your thoughtful feedback on the AC and bathtub mat. We'd love to welcome you back for another wonderful getaway! Madison, Railey Vacations

Cabin is very nice with great amenities and very clean. Nicely decorated. Very close to other cabins, small yards. A lot of community rules. Beware of the constant commotion and hustle and bustle of trucks, deliveries, sound of chainsaws and other equipment all day, every day. It is not a relaxing getaway from it all at this location. Tree service trucks, trucks delivering huge boxes of linens for the next guest the DAY after we checked in sitting on our front porch all week. Railey employees we talked to were not very nice. You seem like a barcode to them not a vacationing renter.

Thank you for taking the time to review Johnson's Creek Cabin. We’re glad you found the cabin clean, nicely decorated, and well-equipped. We’re sorry that the nearby activity, deliveries, and community rules disrupted the peaceful getaway you expected, and that your interactions with our team felt impersonal. Your feedback has been shared with the appropriate teams for review. We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. Madison, Railey Vacations

Cute log cabin in a nice setting. We enjoyed walking our dog around the loop of cabins. The yard is a good size and not too close to another cabin. Nice front porch for hanging out. Small kitchen with not a lot of counter space but it was fine for us. It was hot and the wall air conditioner really only cooled off the kitchen and living room, but we opened windows, used the ceiling fans, and brought additional fans. There aren’t any closets for clothes, just a dresser in each smallish bedroom and some hooks. Washer and dryer were nice to have. We used the hot tub a bit… it was clean and comfortable. It was a fun stay and we enjoyed the loft for movie nights.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled you and your pup enjoyed exploring the grounds and appreciated the spacious yard. We're glad the porch became your favorite hangout spot and that the washer/dryer came in handy during your stay. We appreciate you working with the AC setup—it's helpful feedback. The loft movie nights do sound perfect! We'd love to welcome you back anytime. Thanks for being such great guests! Madison, Railey Vacations

Great location and decent place.

Love the location and cabin. Few things that need to be improved on is cleaner porch area( ton of large spider webs that can tell was there along time) yard was not upkept for what seams like a while. Dust build up on interior cabin walls. Master bedroom bed was horribly squeaky with slightest move.

Decent vacation spot

Overall my wife and I liked this house. It was clean the bed was comfortable and the fire pit out side was perfect for a chilly night. However the hot tub was not working. This was a big reason we booked the house we did. We reached out to maintenance and got told that someone would come out to look at it but no one ever came. 8/10

Great getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Have stayed at this property on two prior occasions and have always enjoyed it. Well kept and very cozy for a smaller group, great location . It does appear as though ownership may have changed hands since our previous stay though, as Utensils/basic provisions provided in rental were not as comprehensive. On a side note, also had a few incidents w/ large black spiders near the kitchen (surprising in winter and never happened before). One comment for the rental company would be not to have people come clean hottubs until after checkout time. This was the first time this had happened, hopefully not common practice moving forward.
Response from VrboOwner on 24 April 2020
Thank you for your feedback, and we are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay! The home has not recently changed ownership. We do periodically complete a kitchen inventory to determine if items are needed. Regarding the reported spiders in the kitchen, we will investigate this issue and will arrange for the home to be treated if needed. We hope you will stay with us again!

Cute neighborhood

We loved the location, not far from the fun stuff but still secluded in woods. The place is small but the loft is roomy. A great loop to walk your dog.

Nice, needs a few improvements

The hot tub cover was broken and made it very difficult to open and close to use the hot tub. Cover wasn't replaced during our stay because they are not available. The fire place smoke wasn't going up the chimney, yes the flue was open. :) The location was great. The cabin was cute and prefect for 3 generation family trip. 2 adults, a child, and our dog. If the hot tub and fireplace issues were addressed I would stay there again.

Overall good stay

The only problem we encountered was the cleanliness of the cabin could have been better. We found a tshirt upon arrival that was not ours in the master bedroom on the floor by the bed skirt and the towels had other people’s hair still in some of them.

Charming and cozy cabin time

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family of 3 stayed for 4 nights in late July. We had stopped for basics before arriving and didn’t realize a welcome bag with dish and clothes detergent, paper towels and TP were in it, which was a nice gesture. The cabin is cute but a bit dark. We had rainy weather most of our stay so I know that contributed to the darkness. We loved the hot tub and the electric heater that had a fireplace look to it; it made for a cozy warm morning inside when it was cool and rainy. The basket of games came in handy that day as well! The only other negative comment about the cabin is the door out to the hot tub area didn’t have a workable lock; we fussed with it and couldn't seem to have it lock. A more substantial lock that is easy to operate would help those who stay there feel more safe.Loved how convenient it is to everything, yet it felt cozy and secluded. We came for a family reunion and don’t live close to MD but if we did, we all agreed we would DEFINITELY come back! Coffee on the porch with the beautiful wooden chairs will be a favorite memory.

A “Little” Getaway Cabin

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cabin is very small and has only 1 bathroom which creates issues for 4 Adults. The cabin is quaint, but needs a lot of TLC outside and inside and appliances all need upgrades. It lacks A/C throughout the cabin. There is no outside fire pit and the hot tub area does not have a roof over it nor is it enclosed like many of the other cabins. The best part of this cabin is the location. I would not recommend this cabin to families that have teenagers.
