About this property
Smoky Mountain Hideaway for Two · Near Gatlinburg
Summary:
Welcome to The Art Loft. A piece of history nestled a mere quarter-mile from the Smoky Mountains' spur, this property stands as a beacon of uniqueness and charm. Straddling the line between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, the loft offers guests a rare blend of rustic allure and artistic flair. If you're seeking an overnight stay that's truly one-of-a-kind, then The Art Loft beckons. Immerse yourself in a space where the past meets the present in the heart of the Smokies.
The Space:
Once the creative sanctuary for Sevier County's renowned artist, Dale Gillespi, The Art Loft is steeped in history. Dale's masterpieces, including the respected Eagle Memorial for veterans in Sevierville's heart, were birthed here. Now, this loft is beautifully transformed for guests while preserving its artistic legacy. It boasts a bedroom with striking cathedral ceilings, a bathroom accentuated with the same grandeur and a jacuzzi tub, and a cozy sitting area equipped with a 50" flat-screen TV, Keurig, microwave, and fridge.
Guest Access:
Guests enjoy exclusive access to The Art Loft and the upper-level courtyard with its inviting hot tub and firepit. Please use the upper-level driveway on Veerless Ogle Rd, just beyond the lower driveway, for entry.
The Neighborhood:
Nestled in the heart of the Smokies, our neighborhood stands just a quarter mile from the spur, placing you mere minutes from both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. This area boasts a mix of overnight properties and private homes. Notably, renowned artist Dale Gillespi, the original occupant of the Art Loft, resides next door. You might even catch a glimpse of him sculpting new masterpieces. The property remains accessible in most weather conditions.
Pigeon Forge has seen significant growth since 2019. Notable attractions from that year, like Dolly's Pirate Voyage and The National Enquirer Live Museum, continue to draw crowds. Additions such as the adventure park and Paula Deen's LumberJack Square, situated at traffic light number 3, have enriched the landscape. Dollywood's Wildwood Grove expansion remains a top attraction, and for a contemporary dining experience, don't miss Downtown Flavortown at the Mountain Mile on Teaster Lane.
Every visit to Pigeon Forge promises new experiences and cherished memories. Rediscover classic attractions and immerse yourself in the latest offerings the area has to boast.
Getting Around:
The Art Loft is only 5 minutes to Downtown Gatlinburg and 5 minutes to Pigeon Forge. You will need a car to get around the Smokies for the most part, but if you so choose the Great Smoky Mountain Welcome Center and trolley stop is just under a mile away.
FYI, the trolley rates have gone up to a whopping $2.50 a ride for Dollywood/Splash Country and a $1.00 anywhere else or you can buy a day pass $3.00.
Other Things to Note:
For entry, guests will receive a door code prior to arrival. Along with this, we'll send a link to the Rental Agreement. Kindly ensure you e-sign this document before your arrival to guarantee hassle-free access.
Another rental unit is available on the lower grounds of this site for guests. If you're interested in booking this additional unit, please reach out, and I'll happily provide the listing link.
*Please be aware: Given the unique location of our property in the lush Smoky Mountains, there's abundant tree cover. This natural setting might occasionally lead to power outages, weaker wifi signals, or TV disruptions during adverse weather conditions.
Note that we have just recently added StarLink for internet which has eliminated most if not all of our internet outages and given us 100x performance over what we had available to us prior to StarLink.
Interaction with Guests:
Guests access the loft by door-code and we are available 24/7 if the need arises.

First impression of the room was amazing, everything was clean and as stated in the app. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit, as well as the easy access to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was cozy and had everything we needed. It was very quiet and relatively close to the places we were visiting. The hot tub was great and we were able to still use it in the rain, since it was covered.
The Art Lot was an excellent place to stay. Cozy, remote, clean and perfect size for two, with a wonderful deck and hot tub. Anthony was easy to reach and responded to any questions we had. Perfect location between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
This loft is perfect for a small stay if you need to get away for just a couple of days! It’s also very close to the aquarium and other attractions in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge so you don’t have to travel far.
We loved our stay here! The loft and property were immaculate and the location is fantastic. You are between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and right on the outskirts of the Smokey’s, just beyond all the hustle and bustle, but not too far. The hot tub was a huge bonus as well.
The location was a huge benefit to this property, we easily navigated the area to find the river and our dinner spots.
The hot tub was a perfect size for us two, during the day you are fairly visible to the unit across the street. This did not affect us, just noting for those who like to stay in more intimatly private locations.
We had a wonderful stay in this very comfortable cabin. Immaculately clean, outside areas as well, which was much appreciated. The hot tub was wonderful while a gentle rain fell in the forest. We didn't see any bears but remained on the lookout! The small fridge was wine bottle size, deeper than expected, so we could put in a few drinks, breakfast items, and dinner leftovers.Comfortable bed and bedding, plenty of towels, and prompt communication from host Anthony Martin. So lovely and quiet, with only the sounds of birds and the soothing sounds of the nearby creek.
Liked the accommodations sadly they clean the hottube every stay so we were unable to use bc it takes 24 hours to heat up only down fall

Thank you for your feedback and kind words about the accommodations. We're thrilled to announce that not only have we upgraded our hot tub to heat up in just a couple of hours, but we've also expanded our offerings with a brand new outdoor living space. This space is designed for relaxation and enjoyment, complementing our improved hot tub experience. We're continuously striving to enhance our guests' comfort and pleasure, and we would love for you to come back and enjoy these new features!
Me and my husband stayed here for our honeymoon and it was a perfect little cabin for two. Very clean and the property owner made sure to reply quickly to the few questions we had. Only issues we had was the wifi didn’t always want to work but we were up a mountain so it was kinda expected. The hot tub was great for relaxing. Definitely would recommend this to any couple but wouldn’t suggest it for more than 2 people because it is a small loft. But I believe any couple would really enjoy their stay here. The location was perfect about 5 miles to Gatlinburg and 5 miles the other way to pigeon forge very convenient! Definitely will stay here again if it’s a trip for just the two of us!
The overall stay was nice .Everything was clean and we had a good time. Had trouble sleeping .Everytime you get out of bed the floor creaks and wakes up the other person. No vent in bathroom so when you shower the bathroom is fogged..Be prepared to eat out or microwave something every meal only 3 room cabin..Hot tub and firepit too close to road for privacy! Anthony was nice and helpful with emails.. Art Loft was decorated beautiful but small.

Thank you for your feedback and for highlighting the cleanliness and overall pleasant experience at the Art Loft. We appreciate your comments and would like to provide some updates. The Art Loft is designed as a unique, boutique-style accommodation, focusing on a cozy and artistic experience rather than a full kitchen setup, which we hope was clear in our descriptions.
Regarding the bamboo floors, their gentle creak is indeed part of the historic charm of the space. We understand this might have been a concern for you and apologize for any inconvenience.
We're also excited to share that we've recently installed a ventilation system in the bathroom to prevent fogging during showers. Additionally, our new outdoor living area, along with a new hot tub and firepit, are now situated to offer a private setting for our guests.
We continually strive to balance the Art Loft's unique character with modern comforts and I'm glad I could assist you during your stay. We hope to welcome you back to experience these enhancements and enjoy the beauty of the Art Loft again.
The property is super cute and clean. Anthony was readily available and kept us updated with any information we needed. My boyfriend and I had a great stay!
The property was very clean and cozy. It was exactly as listed. The location was very nice as well, right in between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We will definitely be staying with Martin Vacation Properties again!
We spent 2 restful nights at the Art Loft and could not have been happier with the location. Tucked in the woods on a side road but less than 10 mins from the heart of all the attractions on the main Parkway in Gaitlinburg.
Sparkling clean, super easy keypad checkin, even a few water bottles left for us in the fridge! Highly recommend 😊
My husband and I vacationed here for the last few days of our honeymoon and it was absolutely phenomenal! We loved being smack dab on the middle of both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge while still being secluded in a calm and wooded atmosphere! The loft was comfy cozy and perfect for our time in the area! We highly recommend this stay for a pair of love birds!
It was a cozy and cute cabin that was perfect for two. Anthony was quick to answer all questions and concerns. The only problem would be the WiFi, it was slow and caused some issues with my phone since I did not have good signal there. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

We're delighted to hear that you had a great stay and are considering a return visit.
We also want to address your feedback about the WiFi. We understand the importance of reliable internet, especially in our serene but remote location. That's why we've recently upgraded to Starlink internet service, offering fast and dependable connectivity comparable to what you'd expect in more urban settings. This upgrade should greatly enhance our guests' online experience, whether for work or leisure.
We're committed to continuously improving our property to ensure our guests have the best stay possible. Looking forward to welcoming you back to experience these improvements!

Not clean
Under the bed was not clean nor the grill when we arrived. Check out is at 10 and check in is at 3. It should not take 5 hours to clean and if it does the it should be very clean which it wasn’t

Thank you for your review and for staying with us, even if just for a night. We apologize if certain aspects of your stay didn’t meet your expectations. We take pride in our cleanliness and are sorry to hear about your experience. We do offer one-night stays, which can be challenging for our cleaning team, but we strive to maintain high standards regardless.
Regarding the grill, at the time of your stay, it was shared with another rental, which may have affected its condition. To ensure clarity and guest satisfaction, we've since removed access to the grill for Art Loft guests.
As for the cleaning under the bed, we wish we had been notified during your stay to address this immediately. We have a dedicated cleaning team and inspectors to ensure cleanliness, but occasionally, oversights can happen. We take your feedback seriously and will use it to improve our processes.
We are committed to providing a clean, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for all our guests and hope you’ll consider us again in the future, allowing us the opportunity to provide the high-quality stay we are known for.
This cabin was very clean and well maintained, you could tell they have made some upgrades recently. Anthony was very thorough about emailing all details of the stay. Would for sure stay here again! We were sitting in the hot tub and a bear came up behind us from a tree only 10 yards away, coolest part! Only downside was that the kitchenette space was too small to really make anything.
