Your welcome wine awaits you (or organic sparkling juice) at award winning Oceanside Village Resort, located near Rathtrevor Beach in beautiful Parksville, BC on Vancouver Island. Parksville is where I choose to live myself now and where I always brought my children to holiday when they were young. The pace is leisurely and scenery is stunning. The Resort is close to airports, ferry terminals, shopping, skiing, golfing, fishing, hiking, glorious beaches and beautiful rivers. The cottage itself is just steps from the resort swimming pool and small fitness centre, as well as other resort amenities and a lovely little lunch bistro. A short walk or drive will bring you to Rathtrevor Beach and Park – a beautiful and favorite spot for all ages. A mini golf facility borders the property – also fun for all! At Parksville Community Beach there is an amazing playground and splash park for children. Steps away from the cottage is the famous Tigh-na-mara spa.
Other interesting places and events in the area include Englishman River Falls, Coombs Market with Goats on the Roof, Errington Farmers' Market, Craig Street Tuesday Night Market, Qualicum Beach Saturday Market, Top Bridge Walking Trail, MacMillan Steam Train and Mill, Horne Lake caves, Cathedral Grove. Northwest Wildlife Centre, Milner Gardens. A cross island jaunt will bring you to the open side of the ocean at Tofino with its storm watching and surfing . There are too many fun things to list!

My contemporary cottage is a spacious and well laid out 2 bedroom with one full bath (separate soaker tub and shower). All appliances are full size and include dishwasher and new washer/dryer for your convenience during your stay. The cottage is nicely decorated and very comfortably furnished including custom livingroom furniture and high end mattresses. . A natural gas fireplace is a plus for cool evenings. All kitchenware and linens are supplied. The cottage is outfitted with so many lovely things and the full kitchen is set up for people who love to cook. Outside amenities include a natural gas barbecue and outside hose to get the sand off before you relax on the sunny deck.

Minimum stay is 2 nights with weekly rates available. Off season rates are in effect from mid September .
Rental agreement is required. Many guests consider this their island home and return every year to enjoy our mild climate. I hope you will love Parksville and Shore Winds as much as I do!

This resort is one of our favorite places to stay in Parksville and Kate's cabin was perfectly suited for our family of 2 adults and 2 teens. Quiet but ideally located just a few steps away from the pool. Kate was also a very responsive host.

Awesome comfy place

We loved our stay. Cottage was lovely, beds are comfortable, very clean, has everything you need. The indoor pool is just a 1 minute walk, loved that bathrobes were provided as well as pool toys. Tranquil Moments Spa has a great RMT Archie, provides great pain relieving massages. Kate is a great host, the cabin has all and more than you need.

Friend Getaway

My friend and I rented the property to have some time to reconnect and enjoy the sights. It was wonderful on all levels. Kate was a perfect host and the property was exactly as described. Very accessible to Rathtrevor Beach and into Parksville to see the sand castle competition. We had such a great time and hopefully there will be another stay soon. Perfect Getaway on Vancouver Island Parksville

Kate absolutely deserves the title as a Premier Host. Everything through the booking process to the bottle of wine on arrival was very appreciated. Kate made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. The cottage is first rate and equipped with everything you need. Our stay was 2 weeks and never ran out of anything. The resort is beautiful, well maintained and quiet. Has a pool, small gym, mini-golf, ice cream, a couple of boutique type businesses and restaurant. Parksville and surrounding area provides many opportunities to explore and is a great central location to travel to other areas of Vancouver Island. Definitely recommend this cottage and will hopefully return again one day.

Peaceful Getaway on Vancouver Island

We sure did enjoyed our week at Kate's 2 bedroom cabin on Vancouver Island near the cute town Parksville! It is quite roomy, perfectly laid out and tastefully decorated. The kitchen had everything you could think of to cook meals. Outside is a pleasant fenced private patio with a bbq and good seating. It is close to the ocean - on foot in 20-25 minutes or a few minutes drive with lots of free parking. Kate is a perfect host and makes the whole process of renting simple. The resort feels very safe, is quiet at night and family friendly. We will go again as our family lives nearby and renting a cabin allows us to have them over for meals and visits with lots of space which makes everything more natural. We definately recommend this type of travelling - its a home away from home.

The Best Place in Canada!

We had the luck and opportunity to stay at Kate's cottage for an entire month and it was wonderful. I can highly recommend for short and also longer-term stays! The kitchen was extremely well stocked and we weren't missing anything as we ate most meals at "home." We stayed as a family with two kids (6 and 8) and the games, books, and beach/pool toys were wonderful! It was also great to have the pool just steps away. We also often walked to the beach and through gorgeous Rathtrevor Provincial Park trails as well as the Black Goose Pub. Everything was comfortable and clean and the owner, Kate, is extremely kind and attentive! We had an unexpected emergency during our stay and she was an incredible angel helping us out! I hope we can come back up again - and can't recommend more!

The most amazing cottage

We had the most amazing stay at Shore Winds! The cottage is beautiful, cozy, was very clean and was thoroughly stocked with everything we needed. We made all our own meals so the spices, cookware, pots and pans, utensils, foil and Saran Wrap, etc, all came in super handy. The cottage is across the street from the pool, and is couple minutes drive to Rathtrevor Beach and approximately 5 minutes away from Parksville Park. We had a 6 year old with us and she loved the cottage and how close we were to everything - especially the pool. Kate was such an amazing and welcoming host, and answered all my questions promptly. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Parksville, I highly recommend booking with Kate and staying at Shore Winds cottage! We will definitely be visiting again!

I used to travel to Parksville for vacation when my children were young so I have many happy memories here. Now that I live here full time I wanted to offer a fun vacation adventure to other travelers. As soon as I went into the cottage it felt so inviting. It is very well appointed with quality furnishings and comfy beds and a very well stocked kitchen.
