This is an excellent place to stay! Everything was in top working order and extremely clean. The view is gorgeous and very relaxing. I will definitely be back.
Sitting in the rocking chairs on the back deck watching the sunrise and sunset and fog lifting off the river is fantastic. Great place to relax and enjoy the beauty.
Everything was great, clean, and amazing view. Only downside was that someone kept driving on the property and parking which made my family uncomfortable.
This was our 2nd stay at this cabin, again we were not disappointed. Cabin was impeccably clean, having everything we needed at hand That view, WOW 5 bald eagles flying close to the cabin Perfect timing, more and more color changing each day we were there Will we be back, yes indeed
Hello,
We enjoyed a White Christmas/2022....Right on time..Just a bit Cold 🥶 It ended up- (0*), degrees, not sure about the Wind Chill..🤔Enjoyed our stay..Made sure, not to let the place Freeze 🥶 Up…Left the maid, a few extra things, plus some Extra Monies..All in all, a great experience…👍🎅⛄️⛄️🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄⛄️⛄️ Tim & Susan V.
This is a gem of a place. It is probably one of the cleanest places I’ve been. The deck offers at least 180 degrees of an impressive view of the river and country side. You can sit on the rock ledge behind the cabin and just soak up all of the beauty this place offers. This would be a great place for a little fire pit and some chairs. One clarification about the property from the listing. The property has a bath tub, not a hot tub. While the bath tub may be jetted, it does not make it a hot tub. The owner is being a bit misleading on this issue.

Best Property on The Bluff in Calico
Place was perfect! If you have not stayed on the bluff in Calico Rock, please do consider it. The views and setting are simply amazing - the pictures don’t do it justice! We have been multiple times as part of a hiking/biking/exploring weekend. Have stayed in multiple homes on the bluff - all very nice. This place is the Very Best. It is the outside setting that sets it apart. There is a private area along the bluff that is quite spacious. An easy rock-step (and metal steps) to get to it. Another side area leads to a “natural bridge” rock formation! It’s incredible! The locking entry gate and spacious parking are also a great detail. We will certainly be returning - hope this review doesn’t mean it will be booked, but will not be surprised if it is.

Great view, BUT.....
Million dollar view from back porch and plenty of room. But, posted do’s and don’t everywhere didn’t make us feel welcome. Main one for us was to not open windows or doors since screens were defective- we came to AR for the mountain air. That should have been in the cabin description. And no bedding other than sheets and bedspread. Contacted owner who said we should use AC/heater - again, not what we came to AR to find. Overall, not a good experience. Left a day early.

Response from VrboOwner on 17 November 2020
All information at property is included in the VRBO house rules which are to be read before occupancy. These are needed to manage the property successfully.
The window/screen notation refers to summertime conditions when tiny insects can pass thru the screens and into the cabin if the windows are left open-that is a part of being close to the river.
The cabin has natural gas central heat and fireplace along with extra heavy bedspreads/sheets for bedding. Nobody has complained about being chilled even when the weather is in the teens.
Sorry you did not have a good experience but, once again, house rules are necessary for various items like electronics, fireplace, deck furniture, trash disposal, etc. for guests to observe and follow.
(I did purchase some extra blankets for all bedrooms after you requested some in case another guest makes a similar request which has not been made in the last 8 years).
The home was exactly as pictured on VRBO. We spent every minute we could in the rockers on the massive back deck. We watched the bald eagles and their babies and of course the bovine moving slowly across the fields.
Living in the suburbs of Chicago and working full time in health care we rarely get the opportunity to just sit and watch cows, so we did, how very refreshing!!
There was a lot of wind, so the soft extra blankets were very welcomed as we sipped tea and looked through our binoculars at all the natural sights.. TV worked great and the beds were comfy. The house was immaculate.
The nearby grocery store had everything we needed. The food at “between the buns” was very good, but you might want to do take out there. Thank you so much!!!
The Property was clean, bed was comfortable, and we had a great time! We were there for a reunion and some of our friends came over to enjoy that view and sit and visit. Some said they were going to look into this cabin for a trip because the view and everything was so nice. The weather was great so not too hot. We will stay again!
Could not have picked a better place to stay. Traveling backroads to get there was awesome. The view from the covered porch was fabulous. And the cleanliness of the cabin was impeccable. Centrally located where we were able to visit Mountain View for the “Bean Festival “ and take in some Folk music picking in the square. Went the opposite way, visiting Mountain Home. Would we visit again, yes indeed.
The time we spent at cabin was a welcome relief from the daily grind. We were able to relax and unwind. The views were unbeatable. We appreciate the host making sure what we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We would recommend our family and friends to stay at the cabin in the future.
