Tucked away in the beautiful Leavenworth Valley alongside the Wenatchee River, Leavenworth is one of the top tourist destinations in the Pacific Northwest. This recreational mecca features more than 800 miles of hiking, biking, and horseback trails, world-class climbing, and incredible white-water rafting. In town, the village is characterized by a picturesque Alpine style that offers a taste of Bavaria with delightful specialty shops, eclectic dining, spas, museums, and parks. There is no better place to experience spring than in Leavenworth!

• Hands – or feet – down, one of the top things to do in Leavenworth is hiking. Fall is the best time for hiking and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature in and around the Cascades and its alpine meadows. Leavenworth has tons of trails for every skill set from novice to pro. A great place to start is at Waterfront Park and the famous Waterfront Park Trail that winds along the Wenatchee River and offers a very accessible and easy hike. Also try the Icicle Gorge Trail, another accessible trail that follows the Icicle River. Please keep in mind you will need a Northwest Forest Pass for both trails.

• Families will love Leavenworth’s impressive parks system, and 2 top parks to explore are Enchantment Park and Front Street Park. Enchantment Park features 2 softball fields, a junior baseball field that doubles as a youth soccer field, a new paved bike pump park, new skateboard park, and a playground. From here trails are linked directly to Waterfront Park, Enchantment Trail, Rafters Trail, Bear Trail, and Deer Trail. These trails feature walking and bicycle paths through unspoiled country and Enchantment Bridge connects you to Blackbird Island.

Front Street Park is considered the heartbeat of downtown and just a few steps from shopping and nightly live entertainment. This is also a great spot to enjoy the Village’s festivals and parades from the beautiful lawns and under shade trees.

• For an invigorating spring adventure, plan to bring along your bicycles to fully experience the area’s scenic highways and byways – and there are plenty of trails in and around Leavenworth to choose from! Get dirty on world-class trails like Freund Canyon, or get pumped up at Enchantment Park’s Bike Pump Park. The more relaxed crowd will love biking the area in April or May to take in breathtaking views of springtime blossoms.

• Looking for something a little more grounded? The golf courses in and around Leavenworth will not disappoint. Experience majestic mountain vistas, stunning views of the Wenatchee River, and catch glimpses of the abundant wildlife as you play and drive the pristine fairways of the Leavenworth Golf Course. Work on your putting stroke at the Bavarian-themed mini-golf course at the Icicle Village Resort or the professionally designed 18-hole Enzian Falls Championship Putting Course. Or head up near Lake Wenatchee to the Kahler Glen Golf Course to test your skills on their unique aqua driving range with island greens and floating golf balls.

• During the refreshing spring months, a must-see event is the annual return of the area’s migratory birds. Celebrate our feathered friends in a spectacular setting of blooming wildflowers and snowcapped peaks. The amazing flora and fauna of the alpine valleys and the majestic Cascades truly come to life during this season. Binoculars can be found in the kitchen.

• After a day of outdoor adventure or shopping in the village, you’ll be ready to explore Leavenworth’s fabulous restaurant scene – and you have the option to dine in, enjoy outside seating, or order take-out! Old-world Bavarian charm meets Pacific Northwest friendliness to serve up locally-sourced cuisine and the best fare for miles around. Everything from giant pretzels and brats & beers to Italian treats, South American tapas, hearty pub food, or elegant fine dining can be found in Leavenworth. Adults will have a great time at our new wine/beer/cider tasting rooms, and Spring is the best time to experience the unbelievable variety of culinary pear pleasures that many local eateries offer.

• Racers and families coming to Wild Katz or the NW Cup finals will find this house convenient at only 30 minutes from Steven’s Pass and well designed for ski comfort and racer preparation (let us know you need the wax table).

• Baseball, softball, and volleyball families headed to Wenatchee Tournaments will find this a convenient 35 minutes from most fields/sites while experiencing a refreshing escape from the traditional tournament stays. Wiffle ball and bocce setup for additional playtime!

Of note:

• Please inquire about our mid-week discounts of 15% for 3 or more nights (March, April, May) and week-long discounts of 10% year-round.

• Guests are expected to know and abide by the current regulations on groups and social distancing when booking and visiting the Leavenworth area.

• Chelan County Permit No: 0257

In the winter, you will want 4WD or chains for any travel through the passes, to Leavenworth, on county roads, and our driveway. We plow after storms or accumulations, but in winter it is always possible when you want to travel there will be snow.

stay for fall festival
This is a quiet property with a lot of space but could be a little closer to town to facilitate walking. However, the distance keeps one away from all the commotion of town. When we stayed there was a festival, so it was nice to have an escape.

Perfect Weekend
We enjoyed our stay in your home. Although we spent most of our time out exploring, it was nice to come back to the warm and relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed the yard games the morning we left, and the hot tub was a nice way to take the soreness out of the hike before we packed up and hit the road.

Why they chose this property

This home has been our family vacation home since 2008. We love the area so much that we built a second home and live in the Leavenworth area.

If you want to know anything about the area or what to do, don't hesitate to ask.

What makes this property unique

For us, it was about the outdoor space. When we found this house, it was an unfinished shell and the yard was "natural". We planted about 100 grape vines on the property, most are Syrah from which we make a Rose. There are a few vines that are specific for eating, and there isn't much tastier than grapes fresh off the vine. There are now about a dozen fruit trees; cherries, plums, nectarines, pears, apples, pluots and beginning in June there is nearly always a treat to be enjoyed off a tree.

Leavenworth is for growing. We keep a kitchen garden for our guests that always has fresh herbs and offers a selection of seasonal fruits and veggies. You'll find unusual varieties of strawberries (if you get them before the quail), gourmet lettuces, kales, onions, broccoli, cabbage, Pac Choi, tomatoes and more depending on the season.

And the blackberries. We've had people return simply for the blackberries. These thornless wonders are abundant throughout August and September, and if you are fortunate enough to be there for the first fruit, you'll understand exactly what we are talking about.

If you enjoy what you've tried, I always try to leave some seeds and/or information about where to find it. We also leave directions for replanting as we've found that a lot of kids want the chance to try their hand at gardening. Replacing is completely optional!

Add to that, we brought in yards and yards of dirt to create a big flat yard for play. In the summer, families will enjoy croquet, wiffleball, horseshoes, smashball, and more. When it gets too hot enjoy the many shaded spaces. In the winter, there is plenty of space for snowball fights, snowmen, and a little light sledding.

We encourage our guests to enjoy what's available during their stay, but we are not a u-pick farm. We don't treat the fruit for travel and it just doesn't. Cherries will brown before you hit Steven's Pass, so do we ask that you enjoy while you are there and leave the rest for the next guests.
