Bird Watcher Paradise 2 Bedroom 2 Bath with Beautiful View

This newly remodeled property perches over a beautiful view, perfect for bird watching or just sitting and taking in the sights. This is a bayfront property and from our cozy home you can walk down to put your feet in the water, eat at delicious local restaurants or even go to the local convenience store just around the corner. Even you are feeling like a longer walk, you can walk a bit further and explore the dunes heading towards Salmon Creek.

Our remodel has ensured that this property is safe, warm, up-to-date and comfortable. With a special focus on views, the both floors of the house open up to beautiful sights of the bay. You enter upstairs where the kitchen and living areas are designed to take in the fabulous bay views. There is also a cozy room with a comfortable queen bed on the entry level. Downstairs you can find a large master bedroom with a delightful King bed and a futon that can be folded out for extra guests. . There is a futon in the living room that can fold out to a bed for even more guests. Both bedrooms have their own private bathrooms and both floors have large wooden decks for relaxing. Please note that the stairs from the entry level to the downstairs master bedroom are quite steep so not appropriate for toddlers or people who have mobility issues.

We recently put in WiFi so you can stay connected to school or work if you need. (Although we hope you can also take advantage of the natural beauty and enjoy some time unplugged!) However, we do not have broadcast TV or a large screen in the house.

To access the bay you can either exit from the downstairs deck or walk down the stairs along the house. We even have an outside shower to wash off before you enter the house!

This is the second time we have stayed at the Heron’s Nest. If it’s possible we enjoyed it more this time. The views are breathtaking. I think the little sitting area nook overlooking the bay where you can sit watch, sip some coffee, and read… it’s worth the price of admission. If you come you might stop at a grocery store inland because the options are pricey. Restaurants are good locally though. Thanks hosts we will see you soon when we need some r&r.

The birdwatcher is an apt name, the views are spectacular! We loved waking up to all the wild life and having morning coffee on one of the spacious decks.The home was clean and comfortable. The host were wonderful and available when we had questions. 1000% would nook again, and fully recommend the Birdwatcher for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

We throughly enjoyed our time at the Heron’s Nest, so much so that we ended up adding days to our stay. Panna was great making us feel welcome and provided us with valuable information for our drive home amidst inclement weather. Location was perfect, right next to the market and so many places to explore nearby. We would definitely come back!

We enjoyed our stay. Had delightful weather so the view was easy to enjoy. Space was comfortable. Just about everything you need. As others have mentioned the interior stairs to the primary bedroom are VERY steep. We used the outdoor stairs to bring luggage to the primary. We would definitely return. Would highly recommend Terrapin Creek Cafe for dinner !

Great little Get A Way

We were pleased with our stay. The kitchen had ants…constantly and the coffee pot did not work bc the lid that allowed it to fill was gone…:We were there at a very rainy time! The view however was stunning! I did not go down stairs but our daughter did and this house is pet friendly but she said everything was stained from previous guests. Beds were comfortable. Thanks for our week! We drove home and got our own coffee pot just to make coffee that was inconvienent. But we neededcoffee! Anne and Mike

Incredible view of the bay

We felt like we were staying in a treehouse! The views are stunning. We were fortunate to have both sunny and misty days. Such a lovely escape from the heat. The location is fantastic for walking to everything. The steps out the back lead directly to two restaurants and the small marina. The only suggestion we have is to bring a robe and eye masks if you are staying in the downstairs bedroom as there are gorgeous big windows but no blinds. Overall, we had an amazing time here.

Amazing views!

I decided to take my family to the Bodega Bay Area, as I had lived nearby about 20 years ago, and had great memories of my time there. Not really knowing what to expect, as pictures typically don’t do a place justice, that was the case for Bird Watcher Paradise 2. Walking into the property, opening the door, and seeing that view from the living room was just breathtaking. We had what we needed. Everything was clean. It was perfect for what we were looking for. Beautiful location

We had a good stay! We felt the house could’ve been cleaner. When you pay a cleaning fee the sheets should be clean. We were happy there was a washer & dryer so that we could strip the bed and wash the bedding. The crumbling parking area was a dangerous place to pull out to the busy street. The view is fabulous and we enjoyed walking down from the house to the marina. The heaters were great which we needed to stay warm & dry in this maritime environment.

Fantastic Everything!!!

What a surprize you get when you walk thru the gate! Very nice entry deck. Birdhouse easy to find. Walk into the home and POP....windows and more windows. Everything is new. We have rented atleast 20 +VRBO homes and this one is by far one of the best. This place is perfect for two couples. Beds very comfortable. Really nice refrigerator. Only thing missing was a hair dryer. Didn't even miss TV or Wi-Fi. Thank you so much for sharing your home! We will return for sure!!!

Great cozy space

Four friends stayed here and we enjoyed our stay. The home was comfy w good beds and the kitchen had everything we needed. The outdoor gas grill was small and grungy - it would be nice if it was upgraded to a larger grill that could be easily cleaned by anyone using it. The propane gas tank ran out shortly after it’s 1 use but refill garages were nearby and we would’ve been reimbursed. The living spaces aren’t large but it worked perfectly fine for 4 of us with an additional friend on the futon in the downstairs bedroom overnite. . Dog was comfy and we enjoyed ourselves. From the photos I’d thought that the deck space was larger and thought /hoped the access to water was right there. I also assumed the place would be completely fenced in, given dog access and the home’s placement right on highway one. It would have been nice if the outside areas were completely dogproofed to avoid a dangerous escape. It doesn’t look like it would be too costly or difficult to complete the safety barriers for children or pets. We had a great time exploring nearby beaches and hikes. You need to drive to them but all was close by. Parking is definitely tricky given how you have to carefully avoid scraping the underside of your cars while avoiding traffic on Hwy 1. In addition, you look out on a parking lot below that has access to the local marina. Dog waking is tricky as you either climb over a fence as you follow a narrow steep overgrown path or carefully walk on Hwy 1 to get to quieter side streets. I wish you hat stuff had been explained beforehand but all worked out and we had a great time!

View of the Bay and businesses was fantastic from both levels! I do have just one problem..the diswasher has a white film completely covering the inside. The first thing I did was to add a dirty cup into the washer and ran it a full cycle. The cup still was dirty after the full sycle with your soap that was under the sink. Taking the cup out of the washer I used the sponge and completely cleaned the cup, clean with just wiping with the sponge. The inside of the washer still was covered with the white film that I could just rub off. So, constantely, I did not use it again. Actually all the dishes, glasses and cups in the cabinet had to be washed before using them and actually all the cutlery was washed before using too. We had both of mjy daughters and our granddaughter and partner for my birthday dinner. We had a great time! I had the lower bedroom and bath and loved being able to get away by myself whenever I pleased. The family talked of a trip perhaps and renting both places. If a planned trip later on sometime we will keep both your places in mind! And also tell our friends and other family members. It was so wonderful just to enjoy the view and relax. Our time there was pure enjoyment. We had a visitor every evening by a young forked horn deer in the area just below the decks.

The location of this rental and the large picture windows provide a great view of the bay. We saw herons and deer on the grounds below our deck. The beds are comfortable and there are two futons, one in living room and one in downstairs bedroom. There’s a nice little market Nextdoor that makes pizza, sandwiches, and tikka masala!The property description doesn’t mention that there is no TV. We’ve never encountered this so we didn’t notice that TV was not listed in the amenities. So be advised to bring a book or whatever you like to do when you’re not gazing o the view.

Amazing view to wake up to! The location is conveniently located with an unmatched view. We loved spending time in the den. Felt like we were some place far away. We had a relaxing time. A true respite

I left it a surprise for both my young-adult kids where we were heading after our last five years staying in Monte Rio for our getaway, and their excitement as we approached and entered the home was so gratifying. It is very tastefully designed and clearly a well-loved home, not just a revenue stream. We saw a fox, a deer with her spotted fawns, and so many birds. It was just wonderful to stay there and to be able to walk out the back of the property along the marina and onto the dunes. Very well-equipped kitchen as well and apparent environmental awareness based in part, evidently, on research by one of the hosts.Favorite aspect: no screens.

Heron’s Nest

They weren’t kidding when they said great birding from this property. Especially if you like Great Blue Herons. Constant activity on the old wharf and surrounding bay view that fills all the windows on the back of the house. Handy location to base out of for all your Bodega Bay activities, and plenty of information provided to start from.
