About this property

Turtle Lake area, 3 Bed, 2 Bath, Shores of Horseshoe Lake

Experience Horseshoe Lake and all the amenities it has to offer! The cabin is located just 5 minutes north of downtown Turtle Lake & St Croix Casino. Horseshoe Lake is one of the premier lakes in the area, fully recreational, lots of sport fish, & and is just under 400 acres. You will find Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, & Walleye fishing just outside the back door. The is a boat landing on the west side of the lake to launch your own boat. Also, we offer free use of a canoe. There are snowmobile & ATV trails nearby.
We do offer our pontoon for rent during the months of May-September. We only rent it out for your entire stay. Our prices reflect on how many nights you stay with us.

If you are staying longer than 7 nights, please let us know and we will let you know what the rental fee is.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed. The bed across the hall has two twin beds. There is also a double size bed in the lower level with bunk beds. All beds have linens, pillows and a blanket for each bed . There is bath towels (1 bath towel per guest), hand towels, & wash towels provided. We don't have WiFi at the house, but we do get good cell phone reception and we often use our hot spot to access our laptop or to watch Netflix on the TV (Netflix not included in stay, but the TV does have access to sign into it).
We also want to make sure guests know we do have a fire pit in the yard. We have central air in the house that was newly added. Enjoy all types of gaming at St Croix Casino which includes blackjack, roulette, craps, live poker, sports betting, & slots. Close to ATV, snowmobile, hiking and cross country trails.

Family getaway

We had such an amazing time here over our July 4th weekend. Definitely bring your own blankets/beach towels. Otherwise it was the most wonderful time away!

Horseshoe Lake Vacation

Stayed here with our kids. The lake is clean and not weedy. Well stocked house. Wonderful views at sunrise. We enjoyed the deck and all of the amenities; which included a paddle boat and canoe. Caught some small fish off the dock. Water is well water and does has an odor (didn't bother us but we have well water at home).

Great Getaway

This was a wonderful place to stay for a family getaway. The house and pontoon were clean and comfortable. Our family cooks a lot and the kitchen had basic kitchenware to fit our needs. The only thing that would have made our stay even better would be laundry in the unit.

Wonderful getaway

Our family gathered at this Great Lake home and had the most wonderful time! The cabin is set up great-the kitchen is stocked with what we needed, there’s fun board games, the deck space was phenomenal, the sunroom our favorite spot. The deck was fantastic too! Fun beach area for our littles and the lake is peaceful and so pretty. Great spot for grilling and fantastic grill! Comfy beds! Highly recommend!

Annual friends trip

Wonderful place. It was our third year and we hope to go back. Feel very comfortable there. Only suggestion is for six women, more toilet paper? Also one deck chair is a bit wonky so you feel like you will fall backwards when you sit in it. Maybe missing a screw? Facility is wonderful and again, we hope to return!

Our fourth and last year at this property. The house and location have been great for I and my five fishing partners. We consider five stars in all categories. Except for the cost 1,653.00 for four nights stay. Overpriced for winter property.

Annual Mother/Daughter Weekend

Property is on Horseshoe Lake just north of Turtle Lake WI. I The living room, deck, and sun porch offer a beautiful view of the lake. Although the weather didn't fully cooperate, we were able to spend quite a bit of time on the deck just hanging out or playing games. The hosts are super accommodating and wanted to make sure we were enjoying ourselves despite the unfortunate rainy weather. Lots of small towns near by with good food, golf, etc.

Beautiful views!

This is my second time at this property. 1st time was for a girls weekend, this time it was a couples weekend getaway. Property was as advertised, beautiful views of the lake. The sun room is perfect for early risers! We had colder rainy weather this weekend.. the property provides plenty of games to play to pass time when we couldn’t be outside. Property is clean and well maintained! We plan to come back again next summer!

We enjoyed our our second stay at your property very much. Perfect location, very well kept. Just some things we did notice the tap water had a very strong odor. We resorted to using bottled water for coffee and cooking. Access information needs to be updated. Was the same as last year, no lock box to access at garage door.

We had a fun time with our two adult children and their wives.

Compared to other properties we have stayed in I would give it 3 stars. We did all our own cooking in this home but realized we should have brought much more bottled water as the water in all taps and showers was VERY foul smelling. The smell lingered in the room and on the person after using the water. More than I care to explain. I realize they had a water test a couple years ago but I recommend another test immediately. No minerals smell like fecal matter. If there is a reason for this smell we should have been told upfront. This review should not be published as I don't want to hurt their future prospects of clients! The smell really spoiled taking a shower. After one person took a shower none of us showered the whole time we were there. He left early to go home and take a shower as he couldn't stand the smell on himself. I wish the owners the best of luck on their property.

Beautiful property with a gorgeous view!

We rented this property for 5 days in early August with another couple. It was a great vacation at a wonderful property! Upon entering the home the first thing you notice is the view! You are literally feet from the lake. The second thing was the cleanliness and very nice decor. The photos on the site don't do it justice. We were concerned about renting during Covid but our fears were short lived once we were there. The home was spotless ! We enjoyed the deck daily and when it got a bit chilly, the sunroom was a great spot to enjoy the view. Wildlife on the lake was abundant. We saw, and heard, the loons daily, eagles flew overhead, a beaver was spotted crossing the lake., a Blue Heron landed and fished from the pier next door and I was privileged to spot 5 otters swimming along the shoreline as I watched from above on the deck! We brought our boat along and my husband and our friend fished daily and had success with blue gill, crappiest and perch. We enjoyed sunset boat rides around the beautiful lake. The lake is very quiet during the week. Many days we only saw 2-3 other boats. The home was very comfortable and we slept great! We had excellent weather so there was no need for air conditioning. There are plenty of fans available if needed. Communication with the owner was great! Very prompt and accommodating. We were very pleased with this property and had a wonderful get away!

Great Spot for Northwoods Fun

We enjoyed our stay on the shores of Horseshoe Lake. The property was very clean and the views of the lake in the early morning and sunset times were spectacular. We literally watched eagles fly overhead while on the boat which we rented. The lake was full of great large mouth bass and crappies. The property was very clean, the check in process was easy and Dann was very responsive and able to answer questions when needed. Given the pricing of the cabin and boat rental, we felt the amenities were a bit lacking. One cooler of water was provided without a backup and the iron smell of the water made drinking it from the tap less desirable. There was no plunger available in either of the bathrooms and we had to buy extra paper towels. Salt and pepper was also not available, which is a first for us staying in this type of a property. In addition, the beds had clean sheets and blankets, but no comforters, which was also a little unusual given the cooler nights on the lake. None of these were big deals, but just a little disappointing. The property owner also expressed displeasure with the way the cabin was left by our family upon check out. A suggestion for future guests would be to please make sure that your guests know specifically your expectations, and if those include wiping down counters and such, please provide easy-to-find and well-stocked cleaning supplies in which to do so.
