Once a Part of the Beloved Shady Oak Lodge - Cabin 1 - 4 beds w/ Boat Ramp
Toledo Town! Boat ramp! This cabin is the perfect place for a weekend getaway at Toledo Bend. Once a part of the beloved and highly rated Shady Oak Lodge, fisherman and families have been coming for years to enjoy this rustic log cabin nestled among trees on a quiet cove. Today, it is freshly painted and furnished with more amenities than ever before. The boat ramp is shared by the original 7 Shady Oak Lodge cabins and runs right next to the property. The location is extremely convenient as we are off Pilcher Road in Lanan Bay, which is minutes from Toledo Town and Tackle, grocery store, restaurants and banks.
With hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings, this charming cabin boasts an open floor plan and is well-appointed. You can kick back on the comfy recliners in the living room and enjoy DIRECTV and WiFi. Then, start up a poker game on the kitchen (poker) table with the provided cards and poker chips. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, stove/oven, microwave, and all needed appliances except a dishwasher.
This master bedroom offers the most tranquility with a comfortable queen sized bed, beautiful bedding and - almost silly to mention - blackout blinds. The nights are quiet, and guests have enjoyed many restful stays.
The other bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed and another twin bed that all have quality bedding. The unique interior creates a cozy retreat.
The bathroom is chic and a nice size. It has a tub/shower combination and contains luxury towels. We supply toilet paper, hair dryer and paper towels.
The outside features a large covered pavilion that looks out onto the cove with everything you need for outdoor entertainment and enjoyment. This cabin is designed to function as your home away from home. Grill out on the gas grill and serve your barbeque on the outdoor dining table or patio furniture. Relax on the outdoor swing next to the fire pit while making s'mores and listening to the stereo. No need to go back into the house after a big day of fishing or boating for there is an outhouse next to the patio with a sink, toilet and mini frig.
There is also expansive parking for your boat and outdoor plugs to charge it. We also have a back patio with a porch swing, corn hole and other games. Other amenities include a sand box near the pavilion with sand toys for the kids.
We also have a playground. It is a shared space for Cabins 1, 2 and 3.
We follow an enhanced cleaning protocol. Here are a few highlights: - High-touch surfaces are sanitized - Clean each room with cleaners and disinfectants approved by health agencies - Wash all bedding after each guest In addition, we have mattress encasements and pillow protectors to protect against allergens.
Check out our other cabins: Cabin 2 (Listing #1875009) that sleeps 6 and Cabin 3 (Listing # 9354062) a tiny house that sleeps 5.
Visit us, where families and fishermen have been coming for years to find tranquility and a little piece of heaven on earth. Check in is at 4:00 pm or later on the day of arrival and check out is noon or earlier on the day of departure. There is no smoking inside the cabin. The lake level is high enough to use the boat ramp. We do not have a dock, but you can tie up to the poles left of the boat ramp. The dock on the right of the boat ramp is not our property. Thanks for considering us!

We had an amazing time. Everything about this place was perfect. The outhouse next to the patio was very convenient. Will definitely be returning soon.
This is the second time staying at this beautiful cabin on Toledo bend. This place is not only beautiful but is in a perfect location for fishing or relaxing on Toledo bend. This place has everything you need to enjoy your stay and the owner is super friendly. I can’t wait to stay again at a gorgeous cabin located in a perfect place for anyone who enjoys Toledo as much as i do.

Thanks for staying with us again. Happy to share our happy place with people like you!
The cabin is absolutely perfect. If I was setting it up for myself I wouldn't do it any differently. From having it's own boat launch, to the covered patio grilling area, the back porch swing, and the comfortable living area this cabin has everything you need for a perfect Toledo Bend vacation.

It’s our happy place too! Honored to be a part of your family’s memories.
Place was very nice and accommodating. We enjoyed our evenings outside with music, games, and the fire pit. Only thing that was frustrating was there was an old moldy bowl of food left in the microwave.

Glad you enjoyed all the amenities! Oh yikes - about the food in the microwave! We will be sure to talk to our cleaning service about that. It is usually very clean, but I guess we all slip up sometimes. I just wish you would have told us sooner. Take care.
Property was nice, plenty of room to move around. I wish I’d read that there was no washing machine/dryer. Had everything we needed. Smart TV in living room missing a remote so we couldn’t stream some games we wanted. Overall nice place, just those few things you should know about.
I heard the birds and crickets for the first time in a long time. The quiet was so needed. All the amenities needed and a spotlessly clean cabin. Wonderful anniversary weekend. Thank you
We really enjoyed our stay, although, too short (isn’t it always?) The cabin was comfortable & quiet. We had everything we needed. It is a good location near Living The Dream & not far from the Texas State Line, where we ate both nights at delicious seafood restaurants. Thank you Hiltons for sharing your cozy cabin!
This property was very nice. The kids enjoyed the provided toys and games. The beds and pillows were super comfy, water pressure was good and drinking water was provided which was super nice not to have to buy jugs of water so much. My only complaint is having to take your own trash or pay $25. We drove 18 hrs with 6 people and had no room to take it with us let alone any clue as to where to dump it.
Overall a great place and the owners were nice.

Glad you enjoyed your stay! We think we do a good job communicating the trash situation on Toledo Bend Lake. We talk about it 3 times: 1 before booking on the Rental Agreement and in 2 other communications sent out before check in. We tell guests they can either take their trash with them, bring it to the Sabine Parish dumpsite which is only 3 miles away (and give the hours) or pay $25 if it is left. The lake is outside city limits and doesn’t provide trash service. All residents use the dumpsite too - that’s how it is on Toledo Bend. We ruled out putting in our on dumpster because it would be an eyesore, attract critters and probably get used by neighbors. We don’t really know how to improve, but maybe this review will help someone else that missed reading the communications or is unfamiliar with the lake. Take care!
Was a very nice camp and pretty much had everything for you at the camp literally which is very nice and convenient. Definitely will head back with a group of family members and have the campsites around this cabin booked up one day.

Love to hear that you want to come back! We made it convenient because we love it there ourselves. Glad you did too!
We had a wonderful time! The cabin was very clean and cozy. The grounds were very nice as well. The decor was very nice and made the cabin feel like home. My husband, kids, and I enjoyed the poker table. The only tiny issue I had was I couldn't find the key to get access to the washer and dryer. It wasn't in the location as listed. No big deal really. The cabin had plenty of parking for our vehicle and boat. We enjoyed s'mores by the fire pit. We will definitely be back!!

Glad you enjoyed all the amenities! We love where our home is too - it’s easy and a huge time saver for us when we are there too. More time on the water! You are welcome back anytime.
We stayed at the cabin for the BassMaster High School Series. The cabin was only minutes away from the landing. This was my one of the cleanest cabins we have ever stayed at. The kitchen was fully stocked and the living room furniture was very cozy. Our favorite part was the outside sitting area and fire pit which included unlimited firewood.

About the host

Wife of an amazing husband and mother of two sweet girls. My husband grew up in Laurel, Mississippi and I grew up in South Louisiana - we are Louisiana Woman and Mississippi Man! We are excited to have a house in Laurel to share with our kids and guests, plus it's super close to Mimi and Papaw. We also have 3 cabins in Many, Louisiana on Toledo Bend lake - the halfway point between Laurel and Plano, where we now live.
Each place is special to us. We walk to Mason Park from Mason and Rose Cottage to see the amazing lights at Christmas time. At our Shady Oaks Cabins, we wander around the grounds finding critters and catching brim in Toledo Bend lake. Come explore OUR happy places!
Why they chose this property
We love this lake and stay in the cabin ourselves. There is something for everyone here. You will see some kid toys in the cabin in the living room cabinets, which are available for your use. We also have a sand pit and outdoor toys for use. We love s'mores around the campfire and star gazing with the kids. But the guys also have their fun grilling out and playing poker too.
What makes this property unique
The cabin is set-up well to either 1. park your boat in front of the house and then pull it up and down the ramp for quick access to the lake or 2. tie your boat up to the poles and bank it on the cove. There are also outdoor plugs to charge your boat. Unfortunately, the cabin doesn't have a dock.
