'Sugar Getaway' - Updated and Private!

Enjoy your visit to Sugar Mountain in this spectacular cabin at 4,650 ft elevation. This 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath log home is a beautiful place to stay any season of the year. It offers a gourmet kitchen that’s fully equipped, Wi-Fi, and a washer and dryer for you to use. Each bedroom is nicely decorated and has its own TV and ceiling fan. The living room has vaulted ceilings and a cozy fireplace to warm up during the winter. The cabin has grand decks and a covered porch area where guests can relax in the rockers and enjoy the surrounding nature. This cabin is just a short drive to skiing, golf, tennis, hiking, and more. Non-smoking. Absolutely NO Pets from December through March. Pet-friendly may be available seasonally. There are pet size/breed and number restrictions please confirm with us before booking. Please acknowledge that there is a $100 pet fee(per pet). No Check-in's Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. All guests are required to sign their rental agreement within 7 days of booking.

Pretty little cabin

We wanted to ski at Sugar Mountain and this was less than five minutes away. It was clean. It was adorable warm cozy. We had a great time.

Beautiful cabin!

We loved our stay at this cabin for a weekend trip to ski at Sugar Mountain. The location was great; just a 5 minute drive to the mountain and also close to a grocery store and some restaurants. The cabin was prettier in person and very spacious. We had 6 adults and were very comfortable. The kitchen was very well appointed and we were able to cook for everyone. There is a gas fireplace in the living room and we enjoyed sitting around it after a day on the slopes. The cabin was clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable and extra blankets and pillows were provided. The owner uses a management company for checking in, etc and I think this made everything really easy and we were able to check in late Friday night. The driveway is a little steep which I read in a couple reviews and was concerned about, but our rental car didn't have any issues getting in and out (there was no snow on the ground). We all agreed we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Lovely House

Beautiful, newly built home on the mountain. Mostly a good stay, although we had a couple of issues, mostly to do with the snow. The real estate agency told us we did not need chains when we clearly did. I would not go up that mountain again, even with only an inch of snow, without chains! There was no snow shovel accessible at the house, which seemed odd for a winter rental on a mountain. Also, given how new and well decorated the house was, it was surprising that the linens were so worn and ratty. The towels were all frayed on the ends and the sheets rough and worn. The kitchen is gorgeous, but really needs some decent lighting.

Spacious Delight

I was very impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was. We rent often, and sometimes you have the bare minimum to work with, but that was not the case here. The driveway was a little tricky with loose gravel and a steep hill, but manageable. We wondered with a little tree trimming if you might could get a decent view of Grandfather Mtn off the back porch?! The house has AC, which we used in September and enjoyed. The owners also put together a binder with every question you could imagine, spelled out simply, but thoroughly. Another plus! Cute decor, big lofted living space, and a wrap around porch made for a perfect stay!

Absolutely amazing "cabin" !! Fabulous location, beautiful home, I would highly recommend to al!!

We had a such a wonderful time during our stay in Sugar Mountain at the cabin. The cabin is absolutely perfect, so warm, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We had two couples and it was great having such a lovely master suite downstairs and then totally separate area upstairs for the second couple. We were able to enjoy a great meal cooked in one night and then sat out on the huge wrap around porch while listening to the babbling creek below and watching the lightning light show! We are big sports enthusiasts, so we really appreciated having multiple cable TV's throughout the house. The house was in a very private neighborhood, yet so close to activities and shopping. Great neighborhood to take a walk and see the sites. Really close to everything, Banner Elk, Sugar, Beech, Grandfather Mountain, Linville and Blowing Rock. We were in town for a wedding, so we didn't have much opportunity for site seeing, but we did have one afternoon to explore Banner Elk and take in a street fair and restaurant. Great time. I would definitely stay here again when I come back to the mountains. I would recommend this home to everyone! It is even better than described. Robert and Cathy were great hosts and very accommodating to our special requests. Thank you for having us and I hope to stay at your place again in the future! Terri Dean

Amazing cabin in the mountains

Beautiful home with lovely decor, every amenity you could hope for, comfortable furnishings and bedding, television in every room. Family of five stayed for a ski trip to sugar mountain. Close to nice restaurants and ski lodge and grocery stores. Wonderful place to stay

Great House

Loved the house, fully stocked with whatever you may need. House was very nice but comfortable. We felt like we were home and could enjoy ourselves! Proximity to Sugar Mountain was great, didn't even have to get on main road! Only thing was walkway was a bit icy, but we were fine.Wish we were there longer than a weekend, but will consider this house int he future!!

Lovely stay

We had a lovely time. The property was beautiful, close to groceries and activities, and very comfortable. The property managers were prompt, kind, and sent someone right away when we couldn't figure out how to turn on the shower in the owner suite (user error, not at all a fault with the property). We would absolutely stay again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I immensely enjoyed our stay. The property had everything you could desire and was wonderfully situated. The only aspect that needs improvement is the cleanliness of the property. It seems that only surface areas are cleaned as we dropped items under the couch and discovered a layer of dust and dirt that was certainly not from recent stays. We try to find cards to play with and ended up finding them buried in the Lincoln logs along with all sorts of half eaten oreos and goldfish. The boards games as well had not been moved in sometime and hand accumulated a layer of dust and dirt. The toaster oven was dirty and my wife had to remove the crate and wash before we could utilize. This was unpleasant but did not prevent us from having a good time. Overall I would stay here again but I hope cleaners are given guidance to improve.I would also recommend adding one more heater to the upstairs bedroom as there were only two heaters instead of one for each room.

Rock Spring ROCKS!!!

Myself and my family of 6 (2 adults, 3 young adults, 1 child) all LOVED our time spent at this cabin!! The views are even better in person and the location couldn’t be more perfect. Enough space for us all to enjoy being together without feeling on top of each other. Once you book your stay here, but sure to read through the guest book (our family left a rather detailed entry) to find out about the local things to do and see that you might not find online so easily. 10/10 recommend this cabin!!! Thank you to the hosts for providing such a beautiful, welcoming cabin for my family to create more core memories.
