★ OTHER THINGS TO NOTE ★
Please note that this log cabin is 170-years-old. It's been well-cared for and offers plenty of cozy charm but does have characteristics of a historic home such as bumpy flooring, uneven stairs, and the occasional draft if it's cold and windy outside. In the winter the house is heated by the gas fireplace and electric space heaters so this may not be the best fit for guests who have balance issues or unsupervised children. In addition, we are located in the woods, the property is treated but there is a good chance you might see a bug or two in the warmer seasons!

Excellent location!! The property is absolutely charming and is every thing you could want from 170 year old log cabin. So close to Grandfather Mountain. We loved sitting by the gas fireplace. The screened in porch was an excellent place to eat dinner. Had an issue with streaming services on the TV but the host responded immediately and worked with us to get the matter resolved so we could watch our favorite shows after exploring Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk. Would definitely stay again!
The cabin the adorable they weather was so cold it caused a few issues. This charming little home has so much character and great views of Grandfather Mountain. The hosts were very helpful and communicated appropriately. Such a great week celebrating my hubby's birthday while visiting our boys in college. Go Appalachian Mountaneers and Lees-McRae Bobcats.Love our NC Mountains
Such a cozy place to stay! The perfect place to come back to after exploring the mountains. Loved the screened in porch and fire pit in the back. Would definitely come back again!
Loved the cabin and appreciate the care that it takes to keep up such a piece of history. It was per the description, clean, cozy, rustic, adequate. I would stay here again.
The cabin is cozy and we especially liked the location. Convenient to the highway but back in the trees enough to make it seem we were in the woods. Also enjoyed the screened back porch and the fire pit.
We really enjoyed our stay in this historic cabin and checking out the activities, sites, and scenery in the area. The cabin was a cozy place to return to at the end of each day.
Very authentic primitive Appalachian experience, our kids loved it. No A/C downstairs, but we weren’t there during the day so didn’t matter. Plenty cool in bedrooms upstairs with window units. Great cabin for quick getaway, thank y’all!
Cabin has security issues any window and back door are not secure. Drafty cold and there's animal running through the rafters all day and night. Very disappointed with surroundings. No nice view. We looked at back of storage units and garbage thrown in ditch. I thought there were standards with VRBO but this was overpriced and very disappointing..
