About this property
Playita: Vintage Mexicana in a beachfront garden
This sprawling, traditional, two-bedroom Mexican-style hacienda sits in the heart of a lush garden backed on one side by a private patio leading to a heated pool. The other side features two sets of double doors opening onto a covered patio with a direct view to the beach—mere steps away. A brick path winding through the garden leads to an outdoor shower. The large, fully equipped kitchen is the perfect gathering place for family and friends. It features a central bar that runs the length of the open-concept living room. Brick archways, vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, hand-crafted furniture, indigenous art, and a traditional terracotta tile roof are some of the highlights of this property. Each large bedroom with ensuite bathroom contains a king size bed, one of which can be converted to twin beds. There is an extra small third room with a single bed, perfect for a kid’s stay. All amenities are here including air conditioning, phone, WiFi, internet, TV with satellite and DVD player. Casa Playita is the heart of the four casas that make up Villas Playita, a family-owned beachfront property in the heart of Bucerias’ most popular neighborhood. Built back when the town was a charming fishing village, there are few places like this left anywhere. Escape into a simpler time, free from the tourist crowd and time-share condo salesmen. Or stroll ten minutes down Lazaro Cardenas into Bucerias’ bustling Centro of restaurants and shopping.

This was our first VRBO in Mexico. We usually stay at a resort, & we wondered if we’d like it. We LOVED it! It was nice to have your own space, & there were multiple great restaurants close to the property. We loved the traditional Mexican architecture & decor of the house. It was clean & the grounds were beautiful. Being steps to the ocean was wonderful! We’re looking forward to staying here again in the future.

Wasn't terrible, Wasn't great.
The location of this complex is great. Located near many spots for delicious good.
We stayed here for a week and had a lovely time. The check in communication was clear and flexible, thanks Miguel! Housekeeping and grounds maintenance staff were also great. The quick access to the beach is fantastic. The house is good for hosting two families with small children. The only concerns we had were that the pool wasn't very warm (it was colder than the ocean), and one of the showers didn't drain. Overall, a great location, value, and stay. thank you!
Tucked in beach-side, is a quaint little brick house that sits among 3 other smaller homes and one larger home on the property. The trees and foliage are thick and make it very private for each cottage. The front security gate, gated doors, barred windows and patio, plus the room safe made us feel very secure in this location. Access to the beach is literally a few feet out the back patio gate! Head out along a brick path to lounge chairs that sit either in the sand or on a cemented surface - your choice. The water starts maybe 20 feet from the roped off sandy yard - very private. Bonus - there is a beach massage business just to the left of this home's "beach yard." Massages are $20 - cheap but awesome! The management was on site and answered the few questions we had very quickly. Beds were so comfortable, fresh nice cotton sheets, and lovely cotton coverlets. Towels were of high quality, but if you want a new one mid-week, you have to request this. There is cable, Netflix, etc. if you want to watch TV - just enter your personal account information and then remove it when you leave by logging out. I can't say enough about the amazing restaurants that are within a few blocks of this location. We tried a different one each day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. None disappointed us. The only drawback was my need for a bit higher level of cleaning. We found some plates that weren't washed well in the cupboards and a giant cobweb that stayed behind the main door all week. Also, I'm 5/2" and I could not touch the bottom anywhere in the main swimming pool without getting my hair and face wet, so I just sat in the kid portion on the side. Overall, I would stay again.
