We had a great stay in Helen. Plenty of room for our family of four to spread out, and great location convenient to everything we came to Helen to do and see. Communication was great, check in and check out were easy.

Fall Get Away

This property is located close to Helen but not walking distance for us. The property is very outdated and needs some improvements. The lay out was good and the screened in porch was enjoyable. Upon our arrival at the property we had to park kind of in an upper level and had to carry all of our luggage and groceries a good way down a sloping driveway and walkway. We had concerns about the previous reviews about not being clean so I called Vacasa and assured me they would leave a note for cleaners. The are rugs had not been vacuumed in the living area and was full of hair and lent. The two upstairs bathroom rugs around toilet and vanity had not been washed and were nasty. We immediately put them in the wash. The pillows on the beds smelled unclean and thankfully we had brought some. There were small roaches on the vanity in one of the bathrooms. The cushions in the dining room were full of crumbs. For the price we have to pay for cleaning fee this is unacceptable! Needless to say we would not book it again nor would we recommend it for anyone else.

Not what expected

The property definitely needs updating. The driveway to turn into the property is extremely sharp! The downstairs toilet was rocking when you sat on it so we had to use the 'napkin under the leg trick' to get it stable and there were crayon drawings on the wall in one of the upstairs bathrooms. The pictures were much better than the actual property.

Nice location but dirty and misleading

We booked this property for a family vacation. I didn’t read the reviews well enough I guess. The property is definitely dated but that is ok. The dirtiness of it is definitely not. There was sugar and such spilled and stuck in the cabinets. The light in the kitchen looked like it could fall on your head at any moment and the stove only had one temp it seemed. The floors were so dirty we wouldn’t take our shoes off. There’s a cabinet there next to the coffee area filled with incredibly dirty cleaning supplies. There was just dirt and filth everywhere. The WiFi only worked when it wanted to and their remote for the Roku tv only had a handful of buttons that actually worked. The showers had mold in them and the toilets I don’t think ever stopped running. I’m not sure if the owner of this property actually sees the problems or the property manager just keeps pushing them off. The upstairs is so horribly hot it was hard to sleep. The placemats had burn holes in them and there were dirty dishes left in the condo when we arrived . I think they just pocket the cleaning fee . I did try to call but service there was very spotty for me. It was all around nothing I would rent again. I spent the first 2 hours cleaning it myself . I see how the property manager/ site replies with well you should’ve reached out more etc but after going over more reviews they are well aware of the problem but they seem too lazy to fix it .

The house is very well located but dated, and it had many details that are not appealing like stains from leaks in the ceiling, the shower in the master bathroom did not work. It was not really clean, the glass table in the sun room had not been cleaned, in the second bedroom upstairs there was dirt behind the bed, the dishwasher had a pod in the soap compartment that seemed to have been there for ages, one of the windows in the living room was broken and could not open, and the house overall was stuffy/smelly. Helen is amazingly beautiful however, this house was not really appealing. We did check-out a night earlier.

Not bad at all for close to downtown.

Didn’t like the TV / Roku. The vents were very dusty and the one in the kitchen was damaged. There were dead bugs in the upstairs on the carpet.

Great quiet location!

An excellent location in Helen. You can see the river from your windows. The condo was very clean and had bathrooms in each of the three bedrooms which was great.

Helen GA - Cool River I Resort

I have used VRBO for years for my bookings, but this time my guest and I were very disappointed. The Description of this Condo location was very misleading. It is not in walking distance to downtown Helen nor 1 block from downtown, but rather a mile. We had to drive to town and pay $5.00 each time to park. No real cable as described, no sports channels at all. Three Light bulbs blown in MB and in other bedrooms/great room. When I called to ask for them to be replaced, they acted like it was a huge chore and very rude. When lights were turned off it turned off the outlets so phones were not charged during the night. Lady bugs and stink bugs were all over the kitchen. Thermostat was uncontrollable since it was locked. Burning up one minute then freezing next. All but 2 of the rods were missing in one of the chairs which made it hard to sit in, not to mention there were only 4 chairs at the table. The shelves in the cabinet by the coffee pot were sticky as if syrup had been spilled and never cleaned up. The condo really needs a deep clean due to dust, spider webs, electrical maintenance and other cleaning neglect. There were no covered walkways or anyway to get to the condo without getting our luggage and ourself drenched in the rain. So, we were totally drowned as well as our luggage by the time we got in the door. The condo itself is mostly furnished okay (the mattresses were great) with a few exceptions and is not bad, its all the other experiences and challenges we had to contend with. The employees at Vacasa are very rude. I do not plan on using this company again and will not recommend it to anyone else. I have informed all involved that the description needs to be corrected and the condo should be cleaned throughly. We paid a lot of money for convenience, comfort and relaxation. However, it turned out just the opposite.

The property is not as close to town as is stated in the listing which isint a big deal as parking in town is oy 5$. The property was pretty clean I had issues with the dishwasher not working and due to that we had to wash every dish before we used it. It also took the dryer several runs to dry one load. My biggest issue with the property is the thermostat is locked. You can not control it. And when we called we were told there was no way to be given access. The condo was set at 70° which was ok for down stairs but upstairs was hot! It was in the 30's outside and we ended up sleeping with the windows open.

Great place right now the river but not a block away!

Overall we had a great time and enjoyed the condo but there are a few things that need to be addressed. There was a lock box on the thermostat set at 68 and we would have loved to be able to control the temp during our stay, they did send someone out who came in to the condo unannounced while my wife was showering and I was fishing, a little disturbing, and set it at 72. The advertising also says this condo is 1 block from downtown Helen but is actually 1 mile away so no walking for us. The good: Condo was very clean and you can tell they have done a lot of recent work! You are right on the river so we enjoyed a couple mornings of Trout fishing, had two on the line and lost them!
