About this property

Peaceful country house with swimming pool surrounded by forest

This large country house is surrounded by 12 acres of forest and can accomodate 18 people very comfortably. There is a small dam and the Bandiat River that runs along the border of the property. In the enclosed park area behind the house is a 12m swimming pool. All of this is for your exclusive use to enjoy with your family and / or friends. You could happily spend all your time enjoying the peaceful and quiet surroundings and enjoying walking in the forest.

The house has a total of 7 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 3 separate toilets and sleeps 18.

Ground floor (main entrance): 3 bedrooms with double bed, 2 single beds in the games room, 2 bathrooms, 2 separate toilets, lounge / TV room, large laundry.

1 st floor: 2 bedrooms with double beds, 1 bathroom and separate toilet, library / TV room, main lounge, small dining room, spacious fully equipped kitchen.

Attic: 6 single beds in a large bedroom (no bunk beds).

The kitchen is fully equipped and there is wifi (although it can be slow). All sheets and towels are provided and the beds will be made when you arrive. Electricity, cleaning (end of stay), and heating are included in the total price. Wood is provided for the fireplaces in winter.

In summer there is a gazebo in the garden where you can take your meals. There is also a BBQ.

300m away on the other side of the forest is a small camping site. Please do not put speakers outside. This house is for people who like quiet countryside and who will respect our neighbors. If you want to party, please don't book our house.

Please be aware that the river and dam are accessible and there are no barriers and this could be a problem for small children. The swimming pool has an alarm and we will open the swimming pool in May if the weather is good. Otherwise it will be opened in June.

Please be warned that telephone reception is not great. The house is realy isolated that has its appeal but it means that you might need to get to the top of the hill. The internet is ADSL not optic fiber. You need a public transport is pretty non-existent.

Beautiful House

The property is absolutely stunning, there’s so much space, and the views are first class. The check-in was easy, and Nicky was great and answering any questions. The garden and pool space is spectacular, the pool is gates off so safe for kids. The pool isn’t heated, so was a little cold (we went in May) but still warm enough for a swim if you can brave the first few strokes. Will definitely be going back!

Frans landhuis in rustige omgeving

Fijne villa in Franse stijl met zwembad. De tuin is enorm! Lekker rustig gelegen, dichtbij dorp Nontron en Abjat sur Bandiat. Activiteiten en restaurantjes in de buurt (+- 30 minuten rijden). Ontvangst en communicatie verliepen prima!

Wij hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad, alles voor onze "gemengde groep" was voorhanden. Voor ons omwille van de kleine kinderen was dit een prachtige lokatie : rustig gelegen, afgeschermd zwembad en een meer met speeltuintje op 10 minuten rijden. Bien loin des locations impersonnelle, cette maison est tellement accueillante et chaleureuse que notre semaine de vacances nous a semblé bien trop courte ! La maison et parfaitement équipée (nous y avons préparé des repas gastronomiques pour 12 et la cuisine possède vraiment TOUS les équipements nécessaires) et tout confort. L'environnement est paisible, en pleine verdure, sans vis-à-vis...propice aux repos, aux balades ou simplement aux plongeons dans la grande piscine. Ce que nous avons apprécié le plus est le kiosque extérieur !! Un grand merci à Jacqueline pour son accueil. En résumé : je recommande vivement cette magnifique propriété !!!
