About the host
Hosted by Ryle or Marilyn Radke

Ryle and Marilyn arrived in Alaska with military fathers being stationed here (Ryle in high school and Marilyn in grade school). We both now consider Fairbanks our hometown. We enjoy the beauty of Alaska. Fairbanks has all the weather extremes, from below zero temperatures in the winter with short hours of daylight, to long hours of sunshine in summer and the possibility of 90 degrees days. We have learned to embrace life in this "arctic desert". Ryle enjoys fly fishing and dip netting for salmon, as well as mountain sheep, caribou and moose hunting. The delicious fish and game meat are our table staples.
Why they chose this property
Guests will enjoy ample space in this studio, with a fully equipped kitchen, and homey atmosphere with Alaskan touches. We chose furniture and decorations with the aim of making guests feel completely comfortable in our hometown. This will be a good alternative to a generic hotel room. The interior of Alaska offers so many choices of things to do, from aurora viewing to dog mushing to outdoor fun like fishing, hiking and camping.
What makes this property unique
This home offered us the double benefit of a convenient downtown location for a business on the lower level, as well as being a guest space upstairs. We enjoy hosting out-of-town relatives, and friends, while still offering them space of their own to spread out and have privacy. The small, older home needed upgrades when we purchased it, but it is now in very good condition and serves both of our purposes perfectly.
