About this property

Lakeside bliss and serenity in the Northwoods

Experience Northern Minnesota ambiance on Leisure Lake with beautiful views and towering pines! This beautiful year-round lake home was built in 2012 and has 2 main floor bedrooms and a loft area with beds. The home has a spacious open floor plan, tongue and groove white pine, a cozy living room, and the kitchen features a breakfast bar and dining area with in-floor heat. The sandy beach is great for swimming and there are 2 docks to enjoy fishing for walleye, bass, crappie, sunnies, and northern pike. Enjoy the use of kayaks and paddle boards free of charge. Adult life jackets are available for use. We provide NO children's life jackets. A peaceful getaway, located on a dead-end road on private land. Borders old growth forest.

Dog friendly UPON APPROVAL. Well behaved dogs only and 2 dogs total... A $25 fee PER DOG REQUIRED FOR THE ENTIRE STAY! No cats or other pets allowed. Pet Policy: All dogs must be watched while on the premise. PLEASE KEEP ALL DOGS OFF THE FURNITURE AND BEDS! Kennels are highly recommended for inside the cabin. Guests will be financially responsible for any damages caused by their pets.

Enjoy relaxing on the deck, swimming in the lake, boating (paddle boat, paddle board, and kayaks available or bring your own), chilling inside the cabin, evening campfires with SOME wood provided (Please limit firewood use so there is plenty for all renters) roasting marshmallows, plenty of yard space for yard games (corn hole, bocce ball, croquet, ladder ball available), listening to the call of the loons, and watching beautiful sunrises and sunsets with your friends and/or family.

If you enjoy golfing bring your clubs and enjoy three local golf courses. [The Legend at Giants Ridge (24 min away), Eveleth Municipal Golf Course (12min away), Virginia Golf Course (27min away)].

We have wifi for your use... a smart TV with DVD player and some kid-friendly DVDs available or feel free to bring your own. Radio with indoor or outdoor sound available for your leisure. We do have a new large AC unit in the window on the main floor in the living area! Keeps the cabin nice and cool on those beautiful hot days!
It is the renter’s responsibility to check MN DNRs website for fire danger and burning restrictions prior to using the outdoor fire pit. Google Search: MN DNR fire restrictions.

Located one hour and 10 minutes from Duluth and 3 hours and 10 minutes from the Twin Cities area. When driving on Leisure Lake Road please be sure to follow the 15 mph speed limit. This speed limit is set for the safety of residents and children walking on the road!

Local Attractions: Timbers Edge Bar, ATV/Snowmobile trails on state land, the nearby town of Virginia, MN has plenty of local attractions – Google to find the many fun things to do (a few examples include: Cane Lakes Candies, Giant Loon, Hockey Hall of Fame and many more...)

Great cabin to share as a base for family and friend get-togethers. We held a great family visit here with the outdoors, the deck, the fire pit being outdoor attractions. The kitchen is well equipped for hosting meals. The shared indoor / outdoor space through the sliding doors made for a great gathering.This cabin is suitable for a small family up to a larger group. Look at this location if you are planning a trip to the Iron Range.

This cabin and beautiful location was perfect for us. We were able to visit with our family in Makinen, soak in the beauty of Northern MN, and relax on Leisure Lake all in one trip. Lots of space and comfortable seating to gather with family inside and outside. We really enjoyed watching wildlife at the bird feeders a kayaking around the lake — very fun! Next time, we want to get geared up and try out fishing. Thank you!!

Peaceful Family Cabin

This was the perfect place for our family of 9! It's better than the pictures! The yard and lake are great for days of fun, plus we drove to the iron mine one day and North Shore Drive another. The cabin was comfortable and had all that was needing for a relaxing stay. We loved the loons and the friendly squirrel. We even saw a bear near Makinen!
