Palisades Tahoe/ Olympic Valley- 3 BDR Magical Creekside Cabin with Hot Tub
**Seasonal Note** Book October-November for peak fall foliage, beautiful yellows, oranges, and reds, and comfortable cool temperatures for fall hiking and biking! Don't miss this extraordinary time of year to enjoy the mountains. Get your skiing legs in shape, or enjoy your favorite Tahoe locations without peak crowds and prices.
About the Property
Best Palisades Tahoe Location!
Palisades Tahoe USA, site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, is a fabulous ski resort offering a broad range of terrain. We have skied all over the Lake Tahoe area, and this is by far our favorite mountain. The Village has cobblestone pedestrian walks, numerous restaurants and shops, and is the perfect social hub during the winter months.
Parking reservations are now required at Palisades Tahoe. They offer paid and unpaid reservations, which must be made on Tuesday for the upcoming weekend. Happily for those staying in the valley, there is a free, on-demand, door-to-door shuttle called The Mountaineer that will take you directly from our cabin to the slopes. Download the Mountaineer App on your Smart phone for hours, destinations and to request a ride/pick up.
An additional benefit to staying with us in the valley is skipping the 30min-1hr traffic jams that routinely clog I-80 for those driving from Tahoe City or Truckee.
Serene Winter Cabin Escape
Designed by well known Squaw Valley Architect, Dave Tucker, this single level house is warm and inviting, offering peace and serenity just one mile from the lifts of Palisades Tahoe (Formerly Squaw Valley) USA. The 14 foot high floor to ceiling windows fill the home with light and a grand feeling of connection to the outdoors. Privately nestled in the trees next to Squaw Creek, enjoy watching the snow fall outside, or curl up on the day beds while a fire crackles in the volcanic-rock fireplace. Slip into the eight person deluxe outdoor hot tub to unwind and relax while you listen to the babbling brook. Snow shoe or cross country ski in the meadow across the street or on the many trails nearby.
Mountain Fun All Summer Long
In spring, summer or fall walk out onto the large deck for afternoon BBQ's or a nap in the hammock. Climb on the granite boulders in the creek (or the one that comes through the deck). Enjoy the flat yard and deck area next to the creek ideal for kids to play. The house is located on a flat street and private cul-de- sac offering easy access during winter (no steep icy roads to navigate and no need to shovel or climb snowy icy stairs to get into the house!) and an ideal playground for kids in both summer and winter. There is an adjacent bike path which you can walk or bike to the nearby soccer field, hiking trails, or playground and take in all of natures beauty any time of year. You can also bike from here all the way to Tahoe City along the Truckee river- one of our favorites!
Comfortable Accommodations for the Whole Family
This home offers a great floorplan! There are two bedrooms with king beds and a bunkroom that will accommodate up to six people. In addition, there are two day beds in the living room and a pullout couch in one of the bedrooms. This house is ideal for one or two families with children and is sure to leave you with amazing memories of a fabulous vacation in the mountains!

About the host
Hosted by Linda

Marin County local I grew up skiing in North Lake Tahoe and became infatuated with Squaw Valley ski resort. My mom was pregnant with me while she was at the Olympics in 1960....I love mixing Vintage decorations from that era that go along with the 60's mid century modern style of this home. In all the decades I have spent in Squaw Valley I have yet to find a home that combines the benefits this one does of location, easy accessibility with a homey yet open feel. It's special orientation to the creek and unique architecture celebrate the spectacular outdoors which is always changing with the seasons. My piece of heaven!
Why they chose this property
This home is special any time of year......we love it for completely different reasons depending on the season. Great access to hiking, road and Mt. biking, swimming, beaches and boating, Via Ferrata and Zip lining in the summer. Fall beautiful Aspen leaves turn colors contrasting with Evergreen Trees and see the Salmon run near Fallen Leaf Lake. Spring brings Waterfalls and flowers. And of course ice, snow, skiing and ice skating in the winter. And a cozy home with hot tub to enjoy after it all. It is an all year round playground!
This property has the best location adjacent to the creek yet is on a short cul de sac so is quiet, not a through street and flat perfect for biking and walking. Immediate access to the ski resort and the bike path make it ideal!

What makes this property unique
The creek!! You can sit in the living room on the built in couches underneath the massive windows and look down into the creek. We have even seen fish swimming by!! The creek is always different..sometimes it is raging with snow melt and other times it is just a trickle such as late summer when boulder hopping is at its best! We also love to lounge on the rocks in the creek. But it is always beautiful and the wildlife that comes to enjoy it as well is wonderful.
There is also a very special granite rock that comes through the deck which I think is very special...my kids when they were little loved to stand on the rock and do silly things as if they were on a stage. :)
